  1. It was sold to another party, caught fire and burned.
  2. That pic was '65 Masters meet at Stone Mt, Ga. Pop was 2nd and I was 3rd. The tall man with back to us was Bob Holler from the Pelicans Md. club who won the meet. The thing I remember about Indiantown winds was the way they would blow at 1000ft. and 180 the other way at 500ft. If you were on the first loads you were screwed...Woody
  3. Yeah, I taught that from the experience I got from this! Good to hear from you...Woody

  6. Reminds me of the student we put out in Orangeburg, S.C. in'62. He landed on the lines by the Sunbeam Bakery and knocked out the lights. The timers were on electricity but the ovens ran on gas. They had 12,000 loaves of burned bread. Sorry, no pics.

  15. Well, not much to tell except we met with Gene Paul Thacker over a couple of beers and decided we would try and set an endurance parachute record in a 24 hour period. GP wanted to do it but the Army pulled the aircraft at the last minute. Bobby Frierson and myself had the dropzone at Barnwell and aC-180 and 182. We had alot of help from and the Clubs from Bragg, N.C. and S.C. All of the harnesses were ill- fitted and I was burning pretty bad after 150. They decided to spray me with novicane every 10 jumps and that helped but after 201 and 17i/2 hours I was done. Btw Bobby Frierson D 911 flew the entire time and the City of Denmark where we lived at that time is letting me but a monument in the park dedicated to the record. First weekend in April.

  20. I remember Vic from some of the National meets ( Orange '65, Plattsburg '70, and several of the Tahlequah Meets. He always drew a big crowd after jumping was over and the partying started. I always wondered what was truth and what was embelishment .
  21. I'm still around Bill. I plan on coming up to Chester one of these days now that I,ve retired. Planning on having a monument dedicated on Jan 13,'08 at the Barnwell Airport. this would be on the 35th anniversary of our record jump. I've got your e-mail so I'll get the word to you before that time.
