  1. I've watched this video going on three times as I sit and write this post. Two words come to my mind, distasteful and deplorable. If you listen closely you can hear the man filming the boys reply "yes Sir" as he is asked, "are you getting this?" I can only assume that the twit holding the bottle is an Officer. This type of conduct is unacceptable not only for enlisted personnel but especially an Officer. As someone posted earlier, only in a more civil tongue than I'm about to use, at least the "prick" could have done is made sure the little kid got the bottle! However, I DO NOT believe that this behavior is representative of our military forces as a whole. At least I hope not. Green Grass and High Tides under Blue Skies
  2. Man, horse's asses are abundant in Kiwi country! By the way, if you are to bastardize our Constitution you should at least know that it starts with a capital C. Its a proper noun you twit! Green Grass and High Tides under Blue Skies
  3. Quote It's a small way of protesting those who call themselves patriots yet, cannot see the irony of calling for acts of violence against Americans for exercising free speech. Jen, This is the last post I'm going to add to this thread. I think it's obvious now that I don't believe burning an American flag is freedom of speech and that you do. I said my previous post was tongue-in-cheek. If you don't get that well that's your burden to bare. Contrary to "liberal" belief, the first amendment is not unconditional. Try walking into a public place, say a movie theater, and yelling fire! See what happens to your ass in court when you cry like a fucking school-girl with a skinned knee...."but I was just exercising my freedom of speech." Because I'll tell you right now that that shit won't cut it in a court! Green Grass and High Tides under Blue Skies
  4. Quote With respect, when you call for the use of "baseball bats, some rabid dogs, and some salt" as object lessons ...you are pretty much setting up definitions and parameters of what freedom is ...or isn't. Jen, That wasn't ment to be taken literally. It was tongue-in-cheek. Also, I went back and read the reply you posted to that statement. If memory serves it went something like...."This flag's for you, gringito." If you had a problem with what I said, why didn't you say anything then? Keep it Real Joe Green Grass and High Tides under Blue Skies
  5. Quote Your desire for a structured, rigid, institutional environment gives you and your family a right to define freedom for the rest of the country? I don't think so. jen Jen, I've read some of your other posts and agree with some things you've had to say. However, I don't have a desire for a structured, rigid, institutional environment. And as for my family and I, we aren't trying to define freedom for the rest of the country! But we, like many military families, know the cost of that freedom and what it takes to pass it on to future generations. Green Grass and High Tides under Blue Skies
  6. Quote they are certainly not synonymous with freedom. With Respect Sir, I wonder if the French and the Polish, just to name a few, would agree with that. Seeing how it was the Allied Forces (a collection of military forces) who were responsible for thier freedom being returned to them! Green Grass and High Tides under Blue Skies
  7. P.S. Do you even understand the concept of freedom? Your posts suggest otherwise. With respect, You don't know me well enough to make such a bold statement. Let's see if you can understand this concept? My grandfather was a World War 2 veteran and Purple Heart recipient. My uncle is a retired one star and Vietnam Veteran. My father ir a retired Full Bird who treated many vets returning home wounded from Vietnam. My brother just finished his four tour. And I, after the first of the coming year, will be headed for the Marines. So I think myself as well as my family are quite well aware of the concept of Freedom!!!! Let's see if your next post suggests that you understand that? Green Grass and High Tides under Blue Skies
  8. Quote it would be a nice surprise but I wouldn't bet my pay check on it. My bet is Teddy boy will be whining like a stuck pig by end of day tomorrow. When you become a rich man, would you be so kind as to spread a little of your new found wealth?
  9. Quote Funny, I was under the impression that sacrifices were made in defense of freedom. Quite Right! Sacrifices were, are, and will continue to be made in defense of freedom. However, if you honestly think that burning an American flag isn't a slap in the face to the veterans who made, are making, and will continue to make sacrifices in defense of our freedom, then I guess you're the one that's funny! Green Grass and High Tides under Blue Skies
  10. Serves the little punk ass right....... Amen Sir! Many people in America, including much of the youth, don't realize the sacrifices that previous generations have made in defense of the "Stars and Stripes." There ought to an amendment added to the Constitution regarding flag burning. I get so sick of hearing "its freedom of speech." Well if thats what you believe then you need to wake up and realize that your freedom isn't free! Many have paid the ultimate sacrifice just so some could make ridiculous statements like that. So anyone who thinks "its freedom of speech", I can say only one thing. Start showing the men and women who fought for the flag some GODDAMN RESPECT!!!!!!!!! P.S. He is a little shit and should be delt with accordingly. (this would include baseball bats, some rabid dogs, and some salt) Green Grass and High Tides under Blue Skies
  11. QuoteAmazing how a thread about gay marriage in Canada turns into a bash against the U.S. going into Iraq. Simply amazing. I'll second that one amigo! Green Grass and High Tides under Blue Skies
  12. QuoteMy first instinct was to make it more of a, you know, a poll. You know, something like: ----------------------------------------- Which side of the issure are you on? () I support citizen gun ownership () I'm a fucking idiot --------------------------------------- But the crowd here doesn't seem to care much for a fair and balanced poll of opinions. jen Your poll options/choices would have been outstanding! However, sometimes a direct statement like the one you posted sums it up quite right. Green Grass and High Tides under Blue Skies
  13. QuoteIn my mind, on one side of the argument, there are those who support civilian gun ownership. On the other side, there are fucking idiots. Simply put and straight to the point!!!! God Bless you and your family. Green Grass and High Tides under Blue Skies
  14. QuoteFYI: I am not religious. And I truly believe gay marriages should be treated as normal as anything else on earth. That surely will have no influence on any politial developments of a country. Did you know that the mayor of our wonderful capital city of Berlin is a lovely gay man? That man is great. He never tried to hide anything. Most folks love him. With respect. I am so sick of Europeans trying to influence what we Americans condone or condemn. And Europeans say we meddle in other countries affairs! I don't remember jumping on Germany's back because they don't have capital punishment. I don't remember jumping on the back of Spain for their legalization of gay marriage. I don't remember jumping on the backs of the Brits when their gun rights were scaled back drastically. That is their countries business. I may not like it, but I have no real right to bitch seeing how I not a citizen of these countries. However, It seems that some European leaders always takes issue with the U.S. regarding these issues that I touched upon. Green Grass and High Tides under Blue Skies
  15. QuoteCould you kindly explain what in detail you mean? You aren't defending British food, are you? Or you are a huge Chirac fan, perhaps? I feel confused, please enlighten me. Thx. My poor english, you know... I can't rightly defend British food because I've never been truly introduced to it. However, what gives President Chirac the right to bastardize another countries food! It obviously gave the Brits enough strength to help liberate France, not once- but twice! And as for Chirac, sorry sweatheart, but I don't hold that high of an opinion of him!
