Myself, started in fine arts with a mentor at 12, and eventually moved into feature animated films designing special effects, drawn and cg. I love making films for kids, they are so appreciative and awestruck and constantly having fun with what you show them. It's a similar attitude I see in skydiving. You can make anything your art even if it is not 'fine arts' or 'musical arts'. Everyone is an artist somehow. And I always say, as the posts for this thread will show, there is soooo much talent here in this community, together we could really make something great happen....but what.....?

one thing I have discovered to focus on, is the rigger himself. Talk to a few if you have the option. I had used a guy in Europe once who packed my reserve like shit; dare I say dangerously like shit that is. This info was passed onto me by the rigger I use here in the US when it was time for the next repack. He took the time to show me what was 'dicey' about the last repack and what his procudure was for correcting the problems that were previously packed. My rigger here in California I consider, my rigger, now.

they are both very good drop zones. Where do you live is a better factor for the training. For the setting you can't touch Santa Barbara. Taft is in a part of Cali most people wish never existed :). Just not the prettiest place on earth, where as Santa Barbara, Lompoc actually, is on of the most beautiful. Taft has a bunkhouse which offers cheap housing, SB doesn't. But Taft is not a real night life type place. Like most DZ's at the moment both are not open every day, but will be soon as the weathwer changes. Both DZ's have very good and competent instructors and AFF programs. It really all depends on you in the end as to how the course goes. Some take to it right away, others take a bit longer.
