  1. It would be against french regulations AFAIK, competitors were to provide proof that they had personal insurance for swooping before being authorized to compete....
  2. I know, this is an exceptionnal event and competitors are not covered by the french federation insurance contract.
  3. Swooping as a skydiving discipline is not recognized by the french skydiving federation (not covered by federal insurance) so for the moment there is no such thing as a "swooper" in france.... Even if, of course, you can see people doing swoops in every DZ, but for fun only.
  4. Just remember, the jets he uses need 30s warmup before providing any thrust, when he jumps at 4000m he's starting to fly around 2500m.... You'll have to find a VERY high cliff ;-)
  5. just to set the record straight, this concept had been researched by Eric Fradet and Advance in the early 90's... But Bill was indeed the first to put it on the market.
  6. Yes you are right: French won the 8 way and 4 way female (and freefly too but it doesn't count here) ;-)
  7. We talked a few times here because we both have a big melon, before ordering my helmet i sent my actuel measurments (63cm, around 25") to Bonehead and they told they had nothing that would fit me. So I went to 2Kcomposites that made a custom FF1 for me. If you're in the US I think Skydance headgear can help you they make the Ion up to 25"... http://www.skydanceheadgear.com/
  8. Damn... I never actually believed the story and I still find hard to believe someone could get into a plane without any gear and nobody notices it. Maybe in those times it was different but i still dont see how it could be possible.... Forgetting the chest strap, yes of course, but climbing in the plane without a very bulky gear????
  9. There are all this people who swear to me that they've seen a video of a video man who forgot completely to put his gear and they give me all the details about when he realise he has no gear on... Yeah right...
  10. Thanks, I hope too ;-)
  11. Any chance for big heads like me (63cm around 25") ?
  12. Book: Skydiver's survival Guide, very nice... http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0971598096/qid=1105694489/sr=1-3/ref=sr_1_3/103-0131010-7712679?v=glance&s=books
  13. If you want to buy 2 books, I'd rather advise - Skydiver's Survival Guide - The Parachute and its Pilot 2 absolute must-read. I have been ratther disapointed by the Skydiver's handbook after reading all the rave reviews here....
