  1. My favorite is using YouTube as a source citation.
  2. I'm especially careful in Columbia Valley.
  3. I get tired of their chanting the latest talking head's talking points. One of my main reasons for being on here is the balance. You and I have tussled a couple of times, but it's been mostly an intellectual/educational process. I "believe" you have been more than lenient to some of our current right-wing trolls and have booted many a left-wing troll for less. The current one's aren't even trying to provide some insight. It's just, "Let me regurgitate what Tuckerson, Hannity, et.al., said today. Fuck it. Boot 'em. They add nothing to the discussion.
  4. Deal. Perhaps we can open that 1945 bottle of Gruaud Larose to celebrate.
  5. OK OK already. I'll be the Speaker.
  6. This was an Act to add Citizenship day to Constitution Day. The law you're looking for is: 36 USC 106: Constitution Day and Citizenship Day Note: "(b) Each educational institution that receives Federal funds for a fiscal year shall hold an educational program on the United States Constitution on September 17 of such year for the students served by the educational institution." While I may not agree with your rants; I do applaud your community service.
  7. Unfortunately, Congress critters seem to think the best interest of the country is based on who gives them the most money. That's what needs to change.
  8. I agree with Jerry. If the Manufacturer's Rigger says it won't fit, then don't do it. The Manufacturer has the final say on what goes in their rigs.
  9. Have this discussion with your rigger?
  10. Something's better than nothing Just a little blessing, a little reason why We should keep going 'cause we never know when What we've been waiting for and praying for Is around the corner coming Something's better than nothing Yeah, something's better than nothing These four walls ain't no castle but this shack Will be enough to let our life grow
  11. They both fired. But Jackson's gun misfired. Jackson took a minute to get to his feet AND re-load after his first round misfired - violating the rules of a duel and essentially committing murder. He was never charged.
  12. Perhaps the People's Republic of Joe Bank could write a check to help cast a wide net: https://www.bradyunited.org/program/veterans-for-gun-reform
  13. More than 6,000 children killed, hurt by gunfire in 2022: Report 6,000. Think about that. That's more than the population of 50 of the smallest towns in the US - combined. Still not worthy of writing your representatives to reinforce your position and desired direction? Here. I'll make it easier: https://www.house.gov/representatives/find-your-representative EDIT: That's more than double the number of US Service Members killed in Afghanistan of 17 years.
  14. The universe is screwing with me. Scrolling thru Twitter land and one of the science types points to this video by Rober: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=My4RA5I0FKs&ab_channel=MarkRober Queue twilight zone music
  15. Thank you all. Quite the list to keep me occupied thru the new year.
  16. OK Nevermind. When in doubt; go to ChatGPT: Faraday waves are a type of standing wave that can occur on the surface of a liquid when it is subjected to a periodic driving force, such as oscillating pressure or vibration. One everyday use of Faraday waves is in the production of coffee crema. When coffee is brewed, the hot water passing through the coffee grounds creates a layer of foam on the surface of the liquid. This foam, known as crema, is formed by the action of Faraday waves on the surface of the coffee. The hot water passing through the coffee grounds creates pressure waves that cause the surface of the liquid to oscillate, generating Faraday waves. These waves create a series of ripples on the surface of the liquid, which trap and stabilize the bubbles of gas that make up the foam. Faraday waves are also used in a number of other everyday applications, such as in the production of foam rubber and in the separation of mixtures of fluids or particles.
  17. Shit. It's Christmas week. I forgot you fockers drink till the first.
  18. Yeah, I read that and did a drill down into each of the hyperlinks. But, it doesn't explain (for me) a real-world use that I can understand.
  19. I follow a few science types on Twitter. In the feed this morning, one of them showed a cup of coffee drug across a table creating ripples in the liquid and said this is an example of the "Faraday Wave." I use these little science McNuggets to explore, but I can't find a "use" for the Faraday Wave. Is it something that has a practical application or is it just something to be observed?
  20. They're not moot. They're some of the reasons, "States simply should not be in the business of killing their citizens."
  21. Since 1973, over 156 people have been released from death rows in 26 states because of innocence. Nationally, at least one person is exonerated for every 10 that are executed.
