After seeing a recent incident thread being locked at the apparent request of a survivor, I'm again asking WTF? Why do we have the damn thing in the first place? No law or governing body forces us to use it. There are LOTS of incidents that never make it in there anyway. We will lock it whenever a mod feels like it. What's the point? The recent thread appears to have been locked by a user request. One in which said user verbally attacked others. It would also seem he wasn't banned - as the rules would apply. Then he starts his own thread that makes him happy in another forum. WTF, over? We as a group on this website appear to not care less about safety and education in this sport. Pissing contests are the norm. Now go die doing something so we can all bitch, moan, cry foul, scream cover-up, seriously debate the facts....only to have the door slammed and locked in our faces. Maybe young up-jumpers need more guidance in their gear selection due to a lack of knowledge. I firmly believe this needs to be made aware more direct to EVERY jumper. TS should notify USPA and all forms of jumper information via the industry publications and parent governing bodies worldwide. If someone burns in this way ...

As much as I agree he should clearly be sitting on a murder charge, I would be quite enraged had the police not clearly followed the law. Based on the evidence at hand at the time, they did what they were lawfully required to do. The police passed it on to the state attorney. That's where it goes to request a grand jury convene and hear the case. Just like it's going through the motions now. It's my understanding the only thing the feds are here to investigate is whether or not a hate crime occurred. Tomorrow should be very interesting around here.... Odd how this is becoming a white/black racial issue. Apparently the security guard is hispanic.
