  1. Yep 377..it's a bit harder to tell on the internet...I've run into a few posers myself...and been a suspected poser myself a time or two...when drinking and story telling with wuffos...sometimes the truth is unbelievable...I'm sure you know what I mean... cya, hangdiver "Mans got to know his limitations" Harry Callahan
  2. If anyone reading this thread couldn't figure out that Farflung was a military/civilian pilot doesn't have the deductive skills to get close to solving the Cooper case. I could be wrong about that...I've been wrong before... hangdiver "Mans got to know his limitations" Harry Callahan

Thanks georger...for making me bust a gut...!!! well...I'm still putting my dad out there as a potential suspect...remember...I can put him under a parachute... hangdiver "Mans got to know his limitations" Harry Callahan
  7. As a former tandem instructor...there's no rational for landing that...I don't care who's friend had a lineover on a reserve after a chop...I've watched b.a.s.e. jumpers cut lineovers to clear them...weak excuse...!!! When I was teaching I watched a student land 5 cells of a blown seven cell because he had back to back malfunctions...he didn't like the hard landing he had on the first round reserve... so he flew that blown canopy to the ground and made a turn into the wind to land...he said it was harder than the first landing...he was lucky he walked away... I believe he's still jumping but no doubt a much smarter skydiver... oh and some of you get your own canopy packed under that relic every weekend...look up and see if you would even think of landing that...??? Just because someone had a reserve mal is no reason to ride your shit main into the ground...especially a tandem. Guys like that give skydiving a bad name...now I don't think that was criminal but poor judgment for sure. hangdiver "Mans got to know his limitations" Harry Callahan
  8. To which Georger replies: Talk about a reversal and hypocracy! Did you not HINGE a good part of your earlier Kenny theory to your alleged assertion Dan Cooper Comics were on Shemya, where Kenny worked ... and then had to retract that? (you were all pissed as I recall). Duhhhh. Where does your hypocracy stop? And you have the balls to ask anyone else: Hello - is there anybody in there? Fortunately for you Rev Blevins (Housecleaner) , people at DZ have short memories, or none at all. Maybe you are exactly where you belong. Snake handling and all! I made it clear to the History Channel folks that the comic book was interesting, but not much of a clue. Our initial investigation made us believe that the comic book was possibly left behind at NWA's day room on Shemya by pilots who were constantly dropping off reading material for the poor saps stationed there. Later, we found this was not the case, and made a correction. You always act as if the Cooper investigation is NOT a fluid thing. There have been many twists and turns ever since the start, and when I've been wrong on things, I will reverse myself if necessary. Housecleaning business? Baby, we are The Best. Some of our customers are people whose names you might recognize. Execs from Boeing, Starbucks, and Microsoft, some with homes valued at more than a million dollars. That is class in ANY business, and if you are going to do something for a living, it's always good to be the best. You should read Gayla's new book coming out next year ('Neat and Tidy') on how she went from cleaning homes for $40 bucks a day out of an old truck back in '98, into becoming the most-sought-after private cleaner in Puget Sound. I joined up with her because I saw she knew exactly what she was doing. She's also the only woman in America who runs both a housecleaning business and is a registered US trade publisher with her own ISBN prefix. And I don't like it when people put her down, or what she does for a living, especially by someone who doesn't even know her. Someone who was previously BANNED from this site for name calling. (That would be YOU...and yes, I'm going to remind you about it every time you post up another friggin' insult.) And I hope you don't like it. So stick that in your hat and wear it around town. ETA:Damn... while I was typing I missed one... And you wonder why there will never be world peace... wait...wait...I know...I know the answer... because of DB Cooper... hangdiver PS: my dad had olive skin... 11. Sorry the skydiver in me made me make this post on page 1000 of...WTF is going on now with DB Cooper today...my guess...a bunch of hot air....someone writing another book...? I have put my dad up as a suspect...I can put him under a parachute and don't remember where he was Nov. 24, 1971...I think he said Hawaii... hangdiver...holding my breath... eta: correct date...musta been thinking about santa claus...to type Dec. instead of Nov...ha, ha... and damn near forgot to give this thread it's Gold Wings... 12. Hey Jo, you keep blabbing about all this evidence you have, Duane is long gone, why not post what you have on DZ and let the experts take a look at it?...what's to lose...??? Wouldn't it be better to know, than keep everything a little secret...then you have to deal with it in your mind... kind of like making a list...then you don't need to think about the items on the list anymore...just check it occasionally to make sure you haven't forgot anything on the list...does that make any sense Jo??? hangdiver "Mans got to know his limitations" Harry Callahan
  13. I had an altimeter lie to me once and never trusted another one... I made 1,000's of jumps without one...eyeballs...eyeballs....are the best altimeter you can get. When in doubt..whip it out! hangdiver "Mans got to know his limitations" Harry Callahan

  15. I've scared myself two times opening low...I was rear rear float on a five way spider? at the bottom of the door in the Lodi DC-3(which is actually a C-47 iirc) Apparently I rolled my altimeter up 1,500' across the floor on exit...as the five came together I noticed that my girlfriend had a floating reserve ripcord, I got her to pull her main at between 9,000 an 10,000... then the four of us left, from the five way, just started screwing around doing two ways three ways with someone always out...then back flips...during one of my back flips I noticed canopies opening above me... as I came face to face with my comrade he glances at his alti and his eyes get big and he dumps...I glance at my alti and it says 3 grand...so I turn and start tracking back to the airport from the north, tracking south perpendicular to the runway. As I look down, tracking along with no worries, I spot the word LODI on the runway...then the funniest question just popped into my head..."why is the word LODI so big?" Well it took me a nano second to know I was way in the basement...I reach back and pitched and my 220 Fury opened beautifully above me. I immediately checked my altimeter and it said 2 grand...I didn't even make it to the grass and landed on the side of runway 12/30 and walking back I was trying to figure out why my alti said 1,500' on the ground...by the time I got to the hanger I was shaking after doing the math...lesson learned...use your eyes...after that I made at least a 1000 jumps with no altimeter at all...I knew what the basement looked like. The second one...doing video of a good friend trying to fly on his back...I have his whole opening at a grand with him still spinning on his back...I watched the hills go up as he checked his alti and he said he saw 1000' and just dumped...I saw my grave...right in front of that oak tree...that sight picture is burned in my brain forever...my thoughts after I pitched was if I was going to feel opening shock first or feet into the ground. After that PD210 opened I just started laughing for about 20 seconds before landing. Back at the DZ an observer told my partner he saw 3 jumpers in freefall go behind the hills. They came to find us expecting to find craters...I have a feeling it was about 700' at terminal...I had to guess because I wasn't wearing an alti but I did know where I was this time...way too low! You can only beat the reaper so many times before he wins... hangdiver "Mans got to know his limitations" Harry Callahan
  16. That's pretty funny Farflung...I'm sure I've seen an installed urinal when I used to build those monstrosities that the rich and beautiful tend to construct. I say I'm sure...but don't actually recall where it could have been...as I only use a urinal when pissing on the floor or gutter will get me arrested for lewd conduct...at home I just piss in the yard...it keeps the coyotes at bay. I personally feel if you can't just piss in the yard and need a urinal in the house you've already given up your manly status. hangdiver "Mans got to know his limitations" Harry Callahan
  17. Hey Jerry, have you ever been to the "Eagles Nest" out of Husum?...just wondering if you knew the "flying mountain man" before he passed away? hangdiver "Mans got to know his limitations" Harry Callahan
  18. post#22608 Feb 24, 2011 red highlight added Poor, poor Blevins...you are on DZ...I doubt anyone wants to be you...I will just say...wuffo...and I mean that in a nice way...but a wuffo of life as well... poor, poor, underachiever...better start building a taller ladder... hangdiver "Mans got to know his limitations" Harry Callahan
  19. Farflung, I feel your pain... Do you mean "sitting witness"...? I'm not siting...I mean citing...all my qualifications...but will admit to being a high school dropout...I will also admit to having a paper from the gubberment that indeed proves I've had an original idea...but WTF is "siting"...? I'm easily confused with Anglish so would someone please explane what a "siting" is so I can get up to speed on this Cooper thing. "Mans got to know his limitations" Harry Callahan
  20. Okay...which one of you screwed up the page...Jo...? "Mans got to know his limitations" Harry Callahan
  21. If Cooper lived...my guess it had to be "Pete" that's who my money is on...I guess I maybe just want that to be true...not that I want anyone who commits a violent crime to get away with it...but every now and then someone just gets lucky... eta: don't get me wrong...I really don't think Cooper lived... hangdiver "Mans got to know his limitations" Harry Callahan
  22. So there is this forum my son frequents (a former Ranger) that douchebags claim to be Rangers and SEALs to trying to impress their girl friends and pad their resumes. The pastimes for the real deal is outing these guys to all the others on this particular forum. Kinda like outing the "Cooper claimers" here. Some people just don't get it...you can fool some of the people some of the time...but you can't fool the real deal any of the time! I don't understand what motivates these types of people...pretending to be something they obviously are not, but the stories of outing them are priceless. Farflung...is this the stuff you're thinking on a CAT lll B or a CAT lll C approaches?...or just in the bathroom?...or are you in the lavy on those approaches...ha ha... I guess it really doesn't matter...it's entertaining on a twisted level that I seem to operate on... Thanks for the laughs, hangdiver "Mans got to know his limitations" Harry Callahan
  23. You know...I propose we throw all the names on paper into a hat, throw it in the air and the first one to hit the ground be declared Cooper! Of course with super-slow-motion-cameras and everything...we wouldn't want any disputes on who was declared Cooper...now would we... That would be a great activity to entertain the crowd this year at Ariel... hangdiver "Mans got to know his limitations" Harry Callahan
  24. Well I did teach myself to Hangglide, hence my user name, and I actually succeeded...but not without numerous bent down tubes and a few bumps and bruises. That's where the two brain cells came from that rubbed together a few years later with the chopper thing... eta; My instructor...one of the most highly respected crop dusting pilots around the time...died some time later after a tail rotor failed on lift off...he died from burns...that says it all... hangdiver "Mans got to know his limitations" Harry Callahan
