  1. Yeah, true. Probably because even if "separate", the spouse could theoretically provide "income" to the taxpayer, which is taxable, which is probably what the IRS is thinking. Yep - any foreign bank account, trust, business...it all has to be reported to the IRS. Mike I love you, Shannon and Jim. POPS 9708 , SCR 14706
  2. Not the same thing, the above only mentioned leaving the country if Dubya was elected. The secret service is now investigating Nugent for his comments regarding his publicly stated implied threats for violence if Obama is re-elected. http://detroit.cbslocal.com/2012/04/17/report-secret-service-investigating-ted-nugent/ You would thing that Romney could not distance himself fast enough from comments like that; you would have thought wrong. You would have thought that Jay Carney could remember which Hilary Rosen visited the White House 30-some times, too. Of course, when Nugent told the people there to 'get a hundred or a thousand people each to vote for Mitt Romney' (paraphrased), what he *really* meant was starting a revolution, right jclalor? Same old Dem tactics. It gets the newsies talking about the SS investigating Nugent instead of underage Colombian prostitutes, so it's another PR 'win' for the Obama side. Mike I love you, Shannon and Jim. POPS 9708 , SCR 14706
  3. That would help with income from his wife's business, but doesn't do a thing about any foreign bank accounts and/or trusts which would still have to be reported. Mike I love you, Shannon and Jim. POPS 9708 , SCR 14706
  4. Like the rest of us have to pay, too. Equally applicable to the other side of the argument, where you bring up all those taxes as a counter to almost half the country having no income tax liability. www.forbes.com/sites/joshbarro/2012/04/17/everything-about-this-drudge-headline-is-wrong/ Thanks for proving my point...again. Mike I love you, Shannon and Jim. POPS 9708 , SCR 14706
  5. Funny how the top 1% paid 23.3% of the taxes in 1998 and 28.3% in 2006. 30% would be even better. Already covered in 2009 by the top 0.5%, who paid 29.79% of the taxes. Mike I love you, Shannon and Jim. POPS 9708 , SCR 14706
  6. Funny how the top 1% paid 23.3% of the taxes in 1998 and 28.3% in 2006. Mike I love you, Shannon and Jim. POPS 9708 , SCR 14706
  7. I didnt realize that the nomination was voted by journalists. I didn't realize I claimed that the nomination was voted by journalists. Mike I love you, Shannon and Jim. POPS 9708 , SCR 14706
  8. I never let the company take out the default - I figure out roughly what my pay will be for the year and have them take out a fixed amount. It usually results in a small refund at the end of the year, but better than giving them a multi-thousand dollar loan that they won't even pay interest on when they give it back. Mike I love you, Shannon and Jim. POPS 9708 , SCR 14706
  9. And he very well may. Or may not. So, when are you going to start? Claiming that talking points that have been on the air over and over and over again over the last several months are all things that you came up with on your own is just a *bit* disingenuous, don't you think? So do I - unfortunately, the media has once again guaranteed the choice between shit sandwich and shit sandwich with mustard. Mike I love you, Shannon and Jim. POPS 9708 , SCR 14706
  10. Red herring thrower and mind reader. Impressive But enough about you. Mike I love you, Shannon and Jim. POPS 9708 , SCR 14706
  11. Because biggest could mean any of several different things and not just the 'number of panels manufactured in the US' that you try to imply? Mike I love you, Shannon and Jim. POPS 9708 , SCR 14706
  12. Given that the OP states "layoffs amount to 30 percent of its global workforce", looks like he's right and it's you and Dekker "on a roll". Mike I love you, Shannon and Jim. POPS 9708 , SCR 14706
  13. Really? Title of this thread says nothing about Income Taxes. More than one way to Re-Distribute Income. Every American of working age knows what April 15th is. Taxes are due April 17 in 2012. Please try to keep up. Since you're all about 'keeping up', how about you show where I specifically mentioned 2012 instead of the general date? Mike I love you, Shannon and Jim. POPS 9708 , SCR 14706
  14. Cut the defense budget by 1% and you have more than paid for the entire NOAA budget. Given that Defense *IS* being cut, why are you complaining, again? Mike I love you, Shannon and Jim. POPS 9708 , SCR 14706
  15. Like the rest of us have to pay, too. Equally applicable to the other side of the argument, where you bring up all those taxes as a counter to almost half the country having no income tax liability. Mike I love you, Shannon and Jim. POPS 9708 , SCR 14706
  16. Because that allows everybody to argue about what is FAIR. There can never be agreement on what is fair. Maybe, but it is hard to argue that for a billionaire to pay NO federal is is fair. I'm sure they all paid sales tax and gas tax and property tax and capital gains taxes and other taxes. Mike I love you, Shannon and Jim. POPS 9708 , SCR 14706
  17. I'm sure they all paid sales tax and gas tax and property tax and capital gains taxes and other taxes. Mike I love you, Shannon and Jim. POPS 9708 , SCR 14706
  18. Yeah Income taxes are due. But there is more than one way to Re-Distribute Income, as the information linked clearly outlines. I never said there wasn't. Amazing how all those other taxes become immaterial when the subject is the rich paying their fair share, though. Indeed. More ankle, Dekker...that right foot is a bit lagging. Mike I love you, Shannon and Jim. POPS 9708 , SCR 14706
  19. Really? Title of this thread says nothing about Income Taxes. More than one way to Re-Distribute Income. Every American of working age knows what April 15th is. Keep dancing. Mike I love you, Shannon and Jim. POPS 9708 , SCR 14706
  20. Not spin, factual. I know that is a bit of a foreign subject for you. YOUR version of 'fact'? Yup, sure it - I don't usually deal in fairy tales. Mike I love you, Shannon and Jim. POPS 9708 , SCR 14706
  21. He is not denying him his right to speak. He is commenting on Nugent's statement of being either in jail or dead. Both those options would severely limit his ability to speak in a public forum. Not that facts have ever stood in your way.... Nice spin - not supported, but nice spin regardless. Mike I love you, Shannon and Jim. POPS 9708 , SCR 14706
  22. As opposed to 'there's other taxes than income tax' when the subject is, in fact, income tax - as usual. Mike I love you, Shannon and Jim. POPS 9708 , SCR 14706
  23. http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2012/04/17/nugent-threatens-death-if-obama-wins-in-november/comment-page-6/ "Nice to see a lot less of this guy" - I wasn't aware that he was forcing his way into your living room and preaching to you - not surprising to see you wanting to deny another citizen his right to speak, though. Mike I love you, Shannon and Jim. POPS 9708 , SCR 14706
  24. You need to read it again. He isn't saying they conspired to create the list. He's just saying that's where the list came from. Well, that's freaking clear as mud. They didn't generate it, but it came from them...huh?!? He's got a whole laundry list of talking points that have been espoused by the various news outlets. Some are arguably true, some are points that have been rebutted (LR did a fine job, above) but are still considered gospel truth by the left. The logic is quite clear once you let go of the 'they wrote grimmie's post for him' conspiracy crap. Mike I love you, Shannon and Jim. POPS 9708 , SCR 14706
  25. There's nothing in there to suggest a conspiracy - maybe you should check your assumptions before calling the composition into question. Mike I love you, Shannon and Jim. POPS 9708 , SCR 14706
