  1. You can use either digital or film - todays modern digital cameras are quite exceptional but they're also quite expensive. The reason (in very basic form) that you can't see much on the ground in those other pictures is because the light meter in most cameras gets tricked in to shortening the exposure time when shooting straight in to the failing light of the sun, resulting in a picture that's too dark - You'll see a bright spot where the sun is but the rest of the picture is usually much too dark. You'll see a big difference if you up the exposure time a little. Since you said that you don't really know much about photography, go to the local photo shop and pick up a Kodak pocket reference book - They usually run about $7-$10 and they're full of really good tips and tricks and it explains in basic terms how to take good pictures in almost any situation - give it a try. z

  10. I wish I knew - On the one side I really wish I took that pic - On the other - I'm really $*&%(# glad it wasn't me - I can hear the radio transmission from the ambulance to the ER in the back of my mind - Male, previously 6'4 but now 4'2, multiple compund fractures,35mm shoved through his forehead and horn rammed up his ass -
  11. Yeah Douva!! WTF???? You need to shorten it up a little bro! Bet you don't hear that very often By the way, that's a nice lookin' avitar you've got there. Looks familiar for some reason
  12. Just do like I did - move away from the hot ass sub tropical, humid fucking climate. Then, break your leg so you can't skydive for months on end and all of a sudden, the fog on your lens just ain't an issue any more I'm just ranting Cat crap works great - z
  13. Most people who start flying a camera suffer from excess camera shake or head wobble in the beginning - Mechanical problems aside it's usually because you're concentrating too hard on keeping your subject dead center in the sight picture - I didn't see if you're using a ring sight or not - just keep in mind that it's not a rifle your sighting in - the wide angle lens, even a .5, affords you a lot of leeway when it comes to keeping your subject centered. One tip is to keep both eyes open - staring through your sight with one eye and trying to keep your subject dead in the middle will give you shake every time - too many corrective movements - I have to agree with Quade on this one - Just relax, and truth be told, try to forget the camera is even on your head and you'll see improvement pretty quickly - it just takes a little while to get used to flying with that stuff on your melon. Good luck, z

  18. That’s like saying there is no difference in going for a Sunday drive and driving a car for a sponsored race team. The difference is that one is a hobby and one is a job. It’s ok to suck at your hobby. It’s not ok to suck at your job. Any freakshow with a few jumps can strap on a POV cam on their head – that does not mean they can do it for a living. When the camera is just along for the ride there is no expectation of results. If someone pays you to capture their first skydive or any other skydive for that matter, there ARE expectations. You have to be able to deliver a quality product to a paying customer – BIG DIFFERENCE. I was stating the fact of safety and nothing else in my reply. Think about it. I was not inferring what you supposed and replied with. That is a different topic altogether and -not- what he was seeking advice for. ltdiver Ok...I'll get off my soap box
  19. Just look at the camera and say MOOOOOOOO!!!! I love this picture
  20. Glad to hear it Lew - I had a helmet come of my nut and land in a swamp a few years back - no insurance and we couldn't even find the freakin' thing. $4200 down the tube in flash. Glad to see someone get something back
  21. Not bad at all- switching the aspect ratio and pixel dimentions in the middle of the video doesn't look too good, EDIT (Sorry my fellow monkey - I was watching it on a wireless conncection and it didn't play well - just switching aspect ratio looked pretty good actually)otherwise I thought you did a good job - The other thing would be that you had an intro that was well synched with the music but there was really nothing at the end - I understand it was just a short thing but it just seemed to me that there should be a "finish" or and "end" to the video - nice work though z

  23. The CamEye is an awesome little invention - It's absolutely worth the fifty bucks. Losing an awesome shot due to equipment malfunction blows donkey dick - losing a bad ass shot cuz you flipped the freakin' thing into wrong mode - that's much worse
