  1. +1 on about two-thirds of those statements, although I will say that ending the last major military action we are engaged in could send the wrong message. We need to find a way to continue to project the image that we are still fighting. While low-intensity conflicts that receive little attention are going to be the most effective against the current threats to our national security the impression that they give is that we are not taking our threats seriously. We need to find ways to project our presence for the psychological impact that they have. Don't forget how emboldened AQ was after a decade of attacks against the US with little in the way of respsones. Also agree with Kallend's statement about fixing our tax code. Stop basing our taxes around out-dated tax-rates intertwined with confusing deductions and loopholes. Either set the rates where they need to be and get rid of deductions or find a way to make a realistic version of the VAT or something along those lines. And here is the big one, start making budget cuts that MATTER. The last round of budget cuts were little more than political fodder to win popularity points. Entitlement spending needs to be tackled in a realistic manner, streamline the systems and look for cost-saving measures so we can more effectively put money in the hands of those who need it. And here is one more that is starting to get me fired up. Stop using the DoD as a scapegoat for spending. Is there a large amount of wasteful spending in the Pentagon? YES!!! Does that mean we have to chop budgets across the board? HELL NO. I no longer have the budget to effectively train my detachment, I am watching my benefits dwindle, and Tricare has been used as a cost saving measure to the point that neither my soldiers nor my wife can get the medical care they need. My soldiers are unable to get medical appointments to treat their training injuries and my wife can't get in to see her primary provider because all dependents are being forced to see the docs on post to avoid Tricare having to pay civilian doctors so everyone on post is over-stretched. In short, quit using our budget to win a popularity contest. History does not long entrust the care of freedom to the weak or the timid. --Dwight D. Eisenhower
  2. In regards to your original question though, get used to the weapon before making mods. The deep trigger pull only affects the first round, if you learn the best way to reset the trigger without completely releasing it you will have a short pull and will even get used to how much slack you can take out of the trigger on the first round. The deep pull only seems that way because you aren't used to the weapon yet. Every gun has its nuances that once you are used to become comfortable. happy shooting. 3. Short answer, yes, you absolutely can adjust the trigger pull and break. You can do just about anything you want, just find the right guy for the job, ask a few of the local stores or inqure with some of the competition shooters at the local range. Don't let some garage hack that claims he can do it work on your weapon or you could end up with terrible results. Happy shooting! 4. Source: http://www.cnn.com/2012/08/23/us/seal-identity-revealed/index.html The dumbass that wrote the book is 100% to blame for this. He should hang his head in shame as he walks into traffic. Leave it to a fucking seal to do something retarded like this when he has been told not to more times than he can count throughout his career. 6. Had they actually handled it well, there would be no controversy. The situation was handled exactly as it should have been. I don't get where everyone is coming off saying that the man was not resisting. Fighting with a police officer while screaming, "I'm not resisting" does not mean you are complying. When they had their hands on him and were asking him very calmly to allow them to cuff him he tensed his arms to prevent this, that constitutes resisting arrest. You'd on't have to be physically engaging a police officer to be resisting. And the man was given several warning about being hit with the taser, which he CHOSE to ignore, so the individual in question, not the officers escalated the situation. That idiot walked into the situation with a game plan and thought he could outsmart the police and ended up making the situation worse for himself. Had he simply provided an ID and been polite I would be willing to bet he would have walked away with a verbal warning. The use of tasers as a compliance tool was ideal in this situation. The officers could have either tackled the man and fought him on the ground which would have led to greater injuries for all parties or they could snap him with a taser and avoid an even worse altercation. Its a simple concept, if someone who has authority over you tells you that if you refuse to do something you will be shocked then it is nobody's fault but your own if you end up with 50,000 volts passing through you. And whether or not people choose to believe it once you commit a crime, that officer has every right to issue you lawful commands. Cops-1 Idiot-0 Trying to speak eloquently when you are really just being an idiot does not make you right or a victim of the man, it merely confirms that you are an idiot. 7. The tea party, what a waste. It had the potential to be the greatest political movement of this generation if they had kept their act together. Stop overspending and big government, exactly what we needed. Now its all about abortions, marriage and idealistic views because of idiots like Palin. All the movement needs now is a reality show to ensure its position amongst the top of the ultimate fail crowd. Oh wait, they already have one, it stars the Palin kids. 9. "Hi. My name is JC. No, I'll buy it. I just inherited 103.4 million dollars last week and I've got nobody with whom I can enjoy it. I hope this doesn't scare you away or anything like it does other women, but I've got a heart condition and probably won't live another 18 months. Know any good estate planning lawyers?" 11. Heh! You're with the wrong girls then if they are focused on Oprah. OK I gotta a good chuckle out of that one, thanks
  12. If the girl wants sex during the game then she automatically qualifies as being bad in bed even if she still lets you watch it? Blow jobs are the only socially acceptable act that can be done during game time according to man-law. With the obvious stipulation that her head not interfere with the view of the TV. Anything else is just plain selfish on her part We wouldn't be so rude as to ask for sex while Oprah was on, mostly because nobody could get it up while Oprah was running her mouth. 15. HA yeah sorry about that we kinda kept it a secret. We got married 4 months ago and didn't tell a soul apart from a former teammate of mine that came to be our witness at the courthouse. She met my parents the day after we got married and we didn't even tell them about it for another month That poor woman though has been through hell the last couple years because of my job. We've spent a total of 7 days together since we got married because I've been gone so much for work. Seriously though my pickup line with her was, "Hi my name is Dan, I'll be your instructor". then she found a way to grab my ass mid-tandem so I asked for her number on the ground right in front of her mom! 16. So my wife's office is having a pickup line contest and I've given her about a million to use but I figured there would be no better place on Earth to find some than to ask the deranged inhabitants of DZ.com . whatcha got folks? A few of my best: Do you believe in love at first sight or do I need to walk by again? Is that a mirror in your pocket cause I can see myself in your pants. Are those space pants cause your butt is out of this world. If I told you that you had a nice body would you hold it against me? Nice shoes, wanna fuck? Is your daddy a drug dealer? cause you're dope Good thing I have gloves on cause you're too hot to handle Can I borrow a quarter so I can call my mom and tell her I just met the girl of my dreams. Did the fall from heaven hurt? And of course I told her to use the one that I used to get her: Hi my name is Dan History does not long entrust the care of freedom to the weak or the timid. --Dwight D. Eisenhower
  17. While I agree it may not be the best or smartest decision at least somebody is recognizing that something has to be done to keep us from running ourselves out of money to pay for medical conditions that could have been prevented. I'm sure this new bill will be overturned in the future as it well should be, but if it can illicit a drastic change in the meantime by making companies rethink the way they make their products then maybe the short-term ass-pain this causes will lead to a long-term improvement that actually makes sense. How about healthy alternatives instead of less of the same crap! Too much money goes to preventable medical conditions that could be going to people who have conditions that they were born with. Why should my tax dollars have to pay for someone else's poor choices? And for the record, I no longer acknowledge California as a state since they have banned happy meal toys. Don't f$uck with my toys! Although since I was born there and its no longer a state would this make me an immigrant? 19. Given my personal FL example... that is ridiculous. As a citizen, I am not required to carry any ID on me if I walk down the street to get some ice cream. But I am required to have my driver's license if I drive... but even so, with my name (and state), any officer in any state can look you up and match you to your description. That too is crap... law abiding citizens are are not going to be locked up, and to date, there has not been any incident showing that... cause if there was, you would have already posted it. And if its a lawful contact... an officer has every right to ask for identification. *** +1 Compared to the way foreigners are treated in other countries this law is very tepid. Its simple, do the right thing and you have nothing to fear. Considering the type of treatment I've received when I was the foreigner this law is child's play. You show me an incident of the police trying to ID you as someone the mafia was looking for after being stabbed by them so they could turn you back over to your attackers happening here in the US and then I'll agree that our police are not trying to protect us. But I seriously doubt that other than rare exceptions the police here have those sorts of intentions. Either way though I will always have one hell of a story to tell along with some great scars to back it up. Getting stabbed in "The Nam" now THAT is a vacation story I'll never forget! 20. There is nothing wrong with wishing the government would step up and do their job Kallend. If they fail to enforce the rules then I expect state and local authorities to do so in their absence. This law doesn't give police any powers that are not possessed by federal agencies. All they are doing is taking action in the absence of it. History does not long entrust the care of freedom to the weak or the timid. --Dwight D. Eisenhower
  21. Absolute Crap. So using the Presidents example... eating ice cream with your kid. What is the legal justification for a cop to walk up to a Hispanic citizen and ask for ID? You have to get to the ice cream, and eventually leave. There's always a technical violation to cite motorists for, and pedestrian jaywalking rules are rarely followed or enforced, but still present. May not be often enforced, but they are still laws, so if you break them you are subject to being stopped. That was an incredibly poor example, you just GAVE the officer lawful justification for the stop. That can happen to any one of us; pass a cop on a good day with out your seatbelt and nothing happens, but catch him on a bad day and you get pulled over. Whether you think its fair or not that you were the one to be ticketed when the driver next to you was doing the same the fact remains that you broke the law and you will have to produce you "papers". 23. Are these the same person? If so, I'd imagine she could relate. Nice try but I wasn't married during my last deployment. The woman I am now married to and I were dating prior to the deployment and had a falling out due in absolutely no part to infidelity on either side as you imply. So I was single during my last trip to Iraq. Since my return we have worked out the issues and were married in February. So while I appreciate you trying to color me as an adulterer you couldn't be further from the truth, I hold marriage to be sacred, as does my wife. So I would appreciate it very fucking much if you would think twice before trying to insult someone publicly like that. I'll also refer you to my recent post in the immigration bill thread where I point to the lack of reading comprehension skills in these forums. Right before I made the joke about not telling my wife I also comedically referred to my current situation as my new life, which would imply that there has been a drastic change since my last deployment. Its called the English language, try to keep up please. I don't know what was in TriGirl's mind, but I took her post to imply that you were dating a woman and later made that same woman your current wife. I see you took it as a slight, but Tri isn't ordinarily like that. Her comment that the woman could relate means 'if the woman was in theater with you and is currently out of theater with you' she can probably relate to your feelings on the matter. That makes the same woman both the dated and the mated. It's called the English language....oh wait...you used that one. And Tri is military, BTW. Well then if I misread it then my apologies and I have to leave it up and take my medicine since I posted about it. 24. I have to disagree with your interpretation that the law presumes guilt until proven otherwise. When you get pulled over your name is run through the system to see if you have an outstanding warrant, but you don't claim that to be a presumption of guilt. Being here illegally is a crime, just like skipping out on a court date, and all the officers are doing is making sure you haven't broken a law. And the whole debate about carrying "papers" is also a fallacy. The law states that if you can produce an ID of any kind that requires proof of citizenship to attain you are in the clear. Well when have you even not had to produce an ID at every traffic stop, or anytime you deal with law enforcement? This law is less invasive than the immigration checkpoints set up by the federal agencies. Those checkpoints stop EVERYONE and ask where you are from. There is nothing in the law that says everyone is presumed guilty. If an officer has a reasonable suspicion that you are here illegally after being stopped for something else then you can be questioned, which is something that is done now anyways. If you lived in an area with a lot of DUI fatalities would you be offended by DUI checkpoints? Would you say that you are being presumed drunk because you are stopped? Arizona has a serious illegal immigration issue and the feds aren't doing their part. All the state is doing is allowing itself the opportunity to enforce the laws that are already in place to protect it.
