Seth, I'll go ahead and throw another vote for Tony Suits, I have nothing against other brands but Tony has been insanely reliable for me. My first pair of Tony FF pants from 2005 still fit and are holding strong. Just be sure you have either a rep measure you or get on the phone with someone to talk you through the measurements because it gets annoying when you mismeasure and the booties end up too short and pull off regularly. Very few media outlets don't report stories in a manner that causes some level of emotional response from its readers. That being said claiming it is intended to inflame the ignorant is an ignorant statement itself. Change can't happen if you don't inspire the people to make their voice heard and the bet way to do that is through emotion. Art is, by its nature, subjective. Do you really think it's not a sad story that some kid died for no good reason? The facts of this case may exonerate the cops, but I personally think the cops go to the taser way more often than they should. I'm not saying its not sad to see a life ended so early, but at the same time I have a complete lack of sympathy for the circumstances surrounding the death. Like I said in my original post, if you act like a dirt bag karma will catch up to you. I also disagree that the police went to the taser too quickly. Can you name another option? An 18 year old is probably going to be far more spry and nimble than a police officer running with a vest and belt full of equipment on. And if they do manage to run him down you have to assume that since he is running he will put up a fight. Now you have a person who could inflict damage on you and his charges suddenly become assaulting a police officer. Or on the other hand you utilize a tool that is proven 99% of the time to be non-lethal and avoid putting yourself in more danger than necessary. You don't know what that kid is on and what he is capable of. Police already have a dangerous enough job, and if they can mitigate the risk to themselves by incapacitating a person by means that are almost always non-lethal than they should do just that. They want to go home to their families just like the kid that didn't want to spend the night in jail. Sucks to be the kid, but its his own fault. And to Bignugget's comment Regardless of whether or not he was creating art he did not have permission to tag that building. Where I live there are plenty of businesses that invite graffiti artists to tag their buildings and add some color to the area. I'm sure it is the same all over, you just have to look for it. My take, whether he was a "good kid" or not he was breaking the law and resisted when he was approached. He turned a misdemeanor that probably would've landed him a bit of community service into a serious crime(resisting arrest) and lost his life because of his own actions. And now his family is trying to play the victim role. Your kid turned out to be a shit head, and lost his life because of it. When I was a teenager I was caught doing something very similar, but the difference was I cooperated with the police and took my punishment like a man. It's their country, outside the embassy walls. Not sure what sort of rights they have. I just know that we lack the proper standing to make such a determination of people in their own nation. Would the F16s first broadcast a warning before unloading munitions on foreign soil? (Do they even have speakers?) Anytime we would hit multiple targets in a single village the evidence collection and tactical questioning would obviously take quite a bit of time after the action had ceased. Typically despite our best efforts to get off-target prior tot he sun coming up we would run over to make sure we left with the best product possible. The best way to break up the assembling masses as it would start to get light out and crowds would start to mass on the opposite end of town waiting for a big enough force to pick a fight was to have our JTAC call in a low-level flyby from whatever was pulling top-cover for us. Long-story short, we avoided having to kill a lot of people because as soon as our eyes in the sky would tell us of a gathering crowd nearby we would have our fixed-wing CAS come ripping overhead at rooftop level, and low and behold the crowds would disperse without ever firing a shot. The threat of an aircraft armed to the teeth with lethal precision overhead goes a long way in taking the fight out of people on the ground. So to answer you question, yes, an F-16 can "broadcast" a warning. Its called simply making your presence known. And lets also point out the fact that during the attack there were operators on the ground lasing targets in hopes that something in the sky had munitions. So it wouldn't have been F-16s randomly strafing people, the pilots would've switched to the radio frequency of the shooters on the ground and been "talked-on" to the appropriate targets to ensure their munitions were only being used on those who were involved in the fight. As soon as ECAS is called the pilots are given the radio freqs. of the forces on the ground so there is direct communication. Failing to deploy F-16s was a vile failure of leadership. It would have saved American lives and sent a clear message that future attacks would not be tolerated. Every time we allow these attacks to happen without an overwhelming level of reactionary forces being deployed it emboldens those who wish to do us harm. Some years back there was a article in the local paper about a gun dealer in Colorado Springs who had gotten all the appropriate FFL's and mounted a machine gun on the back of his Jeep, "Rat Patrol" style. Surely thats the job of the judges isn't it? If we allow them all to go to court it clogs up our legal system, and costs the defendants who are trying to avoid paying for this nonsense legal fees. That "Reasonable person standard" that is supposed to be applied to cases like this seems to have failed us. Case in point one of my Business Law case studies was about a Weed Whacker lawsuit. A man using a trimmer with a rotating blade at the end of a six foot extension hit a rock and the force caused the tool to kick back and spin the man around and amputate the arm of his nephew. The boy's mother sued the company and recieved a multi-million dollar judgement. The judge's reasoning was that the warning label on the tool that specifically warned of this "kickback phenomenon" and told people to be careful of it would not be read by the "casual user", refering to a person who borrowed the tool from its owner. My take on it. If you are using a gas-powered cutting tool with a six foot range within six feet of an infant the user is 100% responsible, regardless of their knowledge or warning of a danger. A REASONABLE person should understand this, but the boy's mother won. I think she should have sued her dumbass brother. The point of the whole thing is now that we have legal precedents where people have received settlements for ridiculous mishaps, the fault of which is their own the judges are not able to rule against them. I'll counter that with the service recieved on ANY Asian-based airline. After they had finished with the safety aspect of their job they genuinely made you feel that their job was to make you want to become a return customer. For the most part all foreign airlines seem to be like that. US airlines on the other hand I feel like I am a burden to the on-board staff and my presence is pulling them away from their union-negotiated breaks. While I have certainly met fight attendants who are the exact opposite of this, and were not only great attendants, but great company on long flights as well, it unfortunately no longer seems to be the norm. And a definite compliment to the attendant who handed me a jack and coke the one and only time I've ever traveled in uniform and said, "this ones on us, thanks for serving".
