  1. Rhys, why do you have to be like that? Did a Dingo eat your Hi-8? Relax dude, be glad people share information freely in this forum. DSE has automated it to make the best quality easy to use for everyone. I think it's pretty simple really. The software that you have mentioned, that apparently only you have and can't tell us more about or when it will be released is absolutely NO help to anyone now! At least DSE's option is real, and available, that IS helpful now! DSE, I want to know how to get your Production Assistant and can you please tell us the minimum system requirements to put this together. btw DSE, thanks for sharing usefull information on this forum, it is greatly appreciated by most of us. 2. I've done videos right up to sunset with great results, using the Sunrise/Sunset setting. ...my $0.02 Give it a try next time. Danger Doug www.dangerdoug.com
  3. QuoteI know you are still on student gear...Quote LOL Sorry Steve, I couldn't help myself!! Danger Doug www.dangerdoug.com
  4. Sorry Saxboy, it was you that posted the settings for going fully auto. I've been using these settings since my last post and I'm very happy with the results. Not once have I had a focus issue on exit. The only time I notice anything wrong, is when I'm on the ground getting ready to start shooting a landing. For a lens, I have the Raynox 50/50 which works very well focusing at zoomed in distances, not sure, maybe it's just a motion thing as I zoom in. It actually looks like an affect, going from unfocused, zooming in and then focusing on the student. Just in case anyone else was thinking of trying the fully auto focused setup. It works great! 5. Lucky SOB!! Now get some more Hypeye Pro D's in and send one along my way dude!! Congrats Danger Doug www.dangerdoug.com
  6. I bought the Raynox 5050 for my cx100 setup and love the quality of the shots and the amazing ability to focus quickly. I use it for Tandem and student videos. I will likely be purchasing the 3030 for free flying, but currently happy with the 5050 for this as well. my $0.02 Danger Doug www.dangerdoug.com
  7. Hey, I just read this post and will try the settings that Adreas has posted. Adreas, have you been having continued success with this? Has anyone else been using these settings? I'd like to hear any accounts, good, bad or ugly! Thanks Danger Doug www.dangerdoug.com
  8. Hi, I'm new to the CX100 and currently using old-school, analog editing. I'm interested in using my MAC to edit soon though, so now I'm trying to figure out the easiest way to do this. My question regarding the last post is this, is WMM 2.0 the file format when shooting in SD? and is it easier to find software to edit it, compared to the HD? Danger Doug www.dangerdoug.com
  9. $65 and I edit/burn the video to DVD and burn the stills to CD, and pay $6 for a pack job. Danger Doug www.dangerdoug.com
  10. Thanks for the confirmation, I thought I was missing something the way PhreeZone was talking. Danger Doug www.dangerdoug.com
  11. Where do you find a remote for the cx100? Where are the crossfade functions on the camera? I just got one of these beauties and I can't find reference to any of these things you mention, and wish I could! Danger Doug www.dangerdoug.com
  12. I use a Pioneer DVR-533-Hs, it's got a 80Gb HDD I believe. Works well for student videos. Finalizes a 7-8 minute video in only a couple minutes, never timed it, so not sure how long actually...but no complaints. Been using it for 3 years now, no hassles, no coasters! Danger Doug www.dangerdoug.com
  13. Hey Velocityphoto, You can open an iMovie project by right clicking and clicking on view contents or something along that line. Find the folder that the clips go in and drag and drop DV files into it. When you re-open the project the 'clips' will be there or maybe in the trash for the project. I'm not sure what format the video is that you are talking about, so you may have to convert the files to DV first. Hope that helps. Danger Doug www.dangerdoug.com
  14. For the love of God Steve listen to Marika!! I hear her now... ...come little rabbit, come with me, happy we will always be! For the record, I don't mean to rag on you, I would hope that you make an educated decision that is in your own best interest. PS, Honestly, a quick google gave me those lyrics, I really don't know the song. Danger Doug www.dangerdoug.com
  15. I agree 100% Everyone should learn to fly the crap out of their current canopy before downsizing. Even with that previous experience, a smaller canopy will give you a sense of fear, and that keeps you alive to learn how to fly the crap out of it before downsizing anymore. Take baby-steps Steve my friend. Learn to swoop your 170 if you want to increase fun. Trust me, you'll scare yourself easily enough with that sometimes, and still have the ability to put down where you want, when you want, especially incase of emergency. Hang in there Steve, everyone's skydiving career is up and down (trust me on this one ) so, take some advise from those that have been around the block a few times and take it slow dude!! We want to see you skydiving for many years to come. Your friend, Danger Doug www.dangerdoug.com
  16. Read this thread on a new camera, see if this suits both your needs. http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=3286328;sb=post_latest_reply;so=ASC;forum_view=forum_view_collapsed;;page=unread#unread The thing I like about this camera is the small size of it and the solid state memory. It's also HD and for protection, cookie is making a box for your b/fs freefly helmet. This is my next camera! Danger Doug www.dangerdoug.com
  17. My old Sony, PC 9 is still going strong, and the swivel nearly got torn off it a couple years ago from a drop in the parking lot. I have to periodically tighten the screws in that area, so it doesn't shake lose in Freefall. That camera is 5 years old, and at the time cost around $2000. So the ribon, I can't see being the problem unless Sony puts cheaper ribbon on todays models. To be on the safe side, I'd have someone check it, for an educated guess and decide what to do from there. Good luck, Danger
  18. Ok, here's mine. A tandem from last week, right off the step, and one of another videographer from SWOOP, Mark having a little bonfire fun that I thought was a particularly funny shot, but I'm biased!! Damn I love digital! Fuzzy, thanks for the advice on the XT, good choice I'm loving all the shots in this post keep posting them everybody, great work!
  19. I ended up getting the Suunto Vector and I think I'll be very happy with it as you say that you are! And as far as the comment about the alti V, I have been using one of those for ten years and had to rezero it anyways, so I think I'll be just fine!! Danger Doug www.dangerdoug.com
  20. I just read the thread on the alti watches from last November, http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=684926;search_string=alti%20watch;#684926 and I was curious if anyone has found out anything new about these fancy gadgets? So far the Suunto sounds like the choice for skydivers, as far as speed of Altitude calculation goes. My question today is this, has anyone had any experience, or heard anything, about the NIKE OREGON SERIES ALTI-COMPASS? It looks great but haven't seen/heard anything about it yet as far as it's abilities for skydiving. Cool, thanks Danger Doug www.dangerdoug.com www.maonkeybrothers.ca Note: Personally I rely on my two Audibles for end of skydive warning, that's my choice! I use my alti under canopy basically. So let's trust that everyone uses their best judgement for their own safe use of any of the equipment they use, and not get into these discussions in this thread, let's look at the facts on the equipment not the worries around using it!
  21. Absolutely Jeff!! and JP is by far the sexiest BiOtCh this side of the border as well!! HOT DAMN! Danger Doug www.dangerdoug.com
