  1. I think the laws need to be re-written. If you are within 3 or perhaps 5 years of someones age, consentual sex should not be a crime. And, any adult distributing or receiving and not reporting these pictures should be charged. I have friends that has sex at VERY early ages, quite a few actually. It is not a crime, just a lack of parental oversight. The other HUGE factor is the timeline of accepted sexual norms our society. These are the 1st two centuries where we deny that sexuality manifests itself before age 18.
  2. I believe in making the world safe for our children, but not our children's children, because I don't think children should be having sex.
  3. This SOB should get 800 years. I believe that if you go so far as to go to a house, intent should be considered the same as actually comitting the act. What wire is crossed in these peoples heads? There is no chance of rehabilitation, nor should we risk it. http://www.wimp.com/pedophile/
  4. I was going to wear a ski mask to a bank, but Im sure there is some obscure law.. I cant BELIEVE how people freaked. http://www.wimp.com/discrimination/
  5. Yes - this is the one you need to go to. This takes all day, and it should. This should be mandatory immediately after Jump 8. It states on their website that this is for experienced jumpers too. I couldnt agree more. A few Weekend Warrior 'experienced' jumpers put on a demonstration on how not to fly your canopy every weekend. If your jumpsuit is soiled more than a couple times a year, you need this course. Im glad to see a DZ regulary scheduling these. What impressed me most about Jim Slaton is the emphasis he put on the level commitment and training that learning High Performance Landings required and tried to talk us out of it if there were any doubts.
  6. It scares the crap out of me that you (and most everyone else) has been turned lose after AFF with pathetically basic instruction on how to fly your canopy. You are not uncoordinated or dumb, you need to be taught canopy flight just like you would learn to fly an airplane. Canopy flying is actually more dynamic and non-inherent than fixed wing, furthering the need for training. You will never figure out rear/front risers, flat turns or anything else on your own. My advice to you is to not make another skydive until you have completed a comprehensive canopy course. I have a VERY good reason for this advice. 10 jumps after training, I had a brake line tension knot, locking me in half brakes on 1 side. I screwed around with it WAY too long and was really iffy for a reserve ride. I wrapped the other side around my hand to half brakes and the training took over. I landed on rear risers and stood it up even. I would have never thought of or learned rear risers on my own. I have no idea what I would have done without the training but I would have probably cut away pretty low. DO NOT use these forums or Joe Bob Random observing your landings in leiu of formal instruction. I was lucky to have Jim Slaton and crew teach me, but this is not experimental or ground breaking stuff, and there are plenty of people that are qualified to teach a basic course. (make sure they are) The classroom instruction was by far the most educational and vitally important training I have ever recieved in any discipline. I walked out in disbelief about how much I did not know about canopy flight. The classroom part was 3-4 hours if I recall, and every minute of it was vital. There was an exam at the end also. We did some jumps where they observed me, but the classroom was by far the most important. I have several other examples of how Jims training got me out of a jam, and I have done 800 jumps since the class and I have stood up all of them. I am not going to go so far as to say the training saved my life, I will say that the fact that I never got a scratch skydiving is 100% attributable to the class. I know you are on the East Coast and I have no idea who or where qualified classed are taught. Does anyone know of a comprehensive course on the East Coast? Even if you bought a plane ticket to get to one, it will be money well spent. If you take the class and dont think it was VITAL, Ill send a case of beer your way.

  8. Reports are that she drove a Ford Galaxy to Florida going ludicrous speed. I bet she gives great helmet!
  9. Does anyone make a breathalyzer that attaches to your PC and wont allow you to get on the internet if your BAC is above .01 or something? I used to get drunk and flame people, now I get on eBay and buy useless crap....I wake up the next am and cringe when I see the PayPal totals. 11. Agreed, I always do at least front risers if not current, a gentle carve if current. I learned from training with Team Extreme that energy is a GOOD thing on landing. Its how you get that energy is key and you must be not turning and planing out in a trajectory that is well within the curve. The problem with carves is, they can be aggressive enough to leave no margins and morph into hooks. Im think anyone turning below 100 ft should be trained to do so. Flat turns are a lifesaver, why in the world dont we see people practicing them all the time?
  12. Having been skydiving only sporatically for the past two years have given me time to evaluate my perspective of the sport. I am dumbfounded at how many people get hurt or killed by intentionally turning close to the ground. It seems to be getting worse and there is no organized effort to stop the problem. I deal with safety intensively for my job. I am always looking for new ways to approach it. I happened upon this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YQa4PpIkOZU It is an infamous crash with so much to the story. The Air Force wanted to stamp it as a stall in the pattern accident. A Major at the time, now a Dr. researched the crash, and came out with a famous report on it and the pilot everyone knew was a rogue. http://www.crm-devel.org/resources/paper/darkblue/darkblue.htm I have talked to Dr. Kern about this accident. I asked him how the Air Forrce failed to stop him. He said the Air Force didn't fail to stop him, it created him. We are not failing to stop low turn accidents, we are creating them. We have created a culture that allows this dangerous behavior and, other than some quiet grumbles and a few screams from the safety nazis, we collectively turn our backs to the problem. I wish there was some measure at how much damage avoidable low turn accidents have done to the sport. I can think of many more people that do not skydive because they, or someone close to them turned low than I can think of people still in the sport since I starrted in 2001. Hook turns are so incrediably dangerous to learn, and leave no margin for error. They are exactly the same as a split S or a half cuban in aerobatics at ground level, which experienced pilots never do and countless others have bought the farm doing. here are some pilots almost or actually buying the farm because they did the equivelant of a hook turn. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C2PvcG4Vmyw http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r4C5DvMIUdA http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r4C5DvMIUdA http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WNvm_1chN3A http://www.metacafe.com/watch/319177/aviation_military_f16_f_16_falcon_f18_crash/ The physics of a hook turn dictate that you must make an error free judgement, at an altitude that is easy to mis-judge and that decision dictates the outcome at the bottom of the parabola, which is inevitable once the turn is commited. The hook turn 'oh shit i fucked this up' reactions look the same as the airplane buffets, stalls and pancaking when the pilot mis-judges the entry altitude. Add in the fact that most hook turns are performed in the equivalent of O'Hares Airspace at 8 am..... There is no maneuver more dangerous in aviation. Notice the experience of the pilots in the videos range from Doctors with warbirds to USAF Thunderbirds. Low pull contests used to be the 'cool thing' to do, but somehow, the skydiving community has made that taboo and you would get kicked off most DZ's for doing it. I believe that hook turns are more dangerous than a low pull. You dont have any options if something goes wrong with either, but you can stare at your altimiter and pull at a known altitude in a low pull, a hook turn is anything from a familiar sight picture to a wild ass guess. Skydiving has failed to realize that hook turns are complicated, risky stunts and treat some yahoo teaching himself to hook just like they would treat someone humming it down to 600 ft. This is a complete failure of leadership at all levels. Mike p.s. Im not saying that hook turns should be banned, there are people that can do them relatively safely because they skydive and train daily. However, for every Joe Swooper, there are equal if not more Joes that are not with us because they missed the learning curve or ran out of luck. Im saying that swooping should be controlled. If you do decide to attempt the learning curve, it MUST be with an approved training course with oversight by professionals. It must not be self taught or a weekend warrior activity. Sean Tucker is alive because he flies daily, just like the professional canopy teams. If weekend acro pilot attempted Seans routine, he would be a smoking hole in short order. Sean is also alive because there is an organized training and progression program for aerobatic pilots. It is not run by the FAA, it is a self policing program run by the sport, and it works. Those professionals should present the realities of the risk of the learning curve, and attempt to discourage anyone that cannot give it the time necessary.
  13. Id stick with the tried and true Sidewinder. It has all the functions you use alot on it. These megabutton joysticks are a waste as far as Im concerned. The learning curve is harder than hitting the key on the keyboard with your free hand. Now, I have FSX. I kep FS9 installed with all my addons, Ultimate Traffic, All the good freeware airplanes, and the unbelieveable PMDG series. FS9 runs faster with all the AI traffic and complex addons than FSX does stock. The water looks a lot better on FSX but the framerate penalty to get the same level of graphics as FS9 makes it moot. I love the challenges on FSX, especially the Oil Rig Rescue. I use FSX as a game, and FS9 for true simming.
  14. Between my 2 names, I have 191,000 views....Isnt there some way a brother can get paid????? http://www.youtube.com/user/mikeskaggs http://www.youtube.com/user/duckwater I should get some of that 1.6 Billion. My St Maarten Video has another 69,000 views on flightlevel350.com too.

    The Bends

Has anyone ever got this? I flew to Belize on Monday, went for my 1st dive Tuesday at 1000. I was no deeper than 70' and was down for less than 40". I stopped at 15" for 5 min and felt fine. When I broke surface at the ladder, my left shoulder immediately started killing me. The ride back was pure hell, I almost passed out. I spent 6 hrs in the chamber that day, and 2 - 3 hr sessions the next. I couldnt fly until yesterday and finally got home last night. After the chamber, I couldnt drink, eat spicy food, be in the sun, or be bounced around for 3 days. Pure hell in sunny Belize. I can't figure out what happened, I was going through air faster than normal, I was at 500 lbs when everyone else was at 1200. My shoulder was sore before I went so that might have been a factor. In a year this will be funny but right now I am SOOO glad to be home. Being in a hyperbaric chamber sucks, believe me.
  16. Ummmm.... Where do you get 25%? If you are saying that I think 25% of people in general are not complete idiots from my statement that 8 in 12 people are idiots, then I fail to see your math. Your logic of, "if you think it is broken, leave it" is about as logical as leaving a car on the side of the road because it broken down instead of taking the time to fix it. Your 'math' might be right on though, according to statistics, 25% of the population is above average in IQ. 100 is considered average. Whats your IQ? IQ 125 = 5%
  17. Oh..Im against the death penalty, as long as prison is worse than serving in the military.
  18. It is not just that OJ got away with murder, just that he is making money from it, not just that society is so consumed by it.... It is the fact that nobody will admit that our justice system is inheriently flawed. You have to think of the Constitution as a Business Plan. A business plan for a corporation written 20 years ago is worthless today, much less one written over 200 years ago. The whole idea of trial by jury is rediculous. You can't expect 12 random people off the street to be able to comprehend the complexity of evidence and judicial process, especially today. Trials today WASTE most of their time explaining complex science to neophytes and the rest of the time showboating. Prosecutors try to convict, even if they have a good idea or even proof that someone is innocent. (Duke Rape Case) They PERSONALLY dont want to Lose. Defenders try to get acquittal in the same way. The whole OJ defense team knew damn well he was guilty, but they PERSONALLY won the GAME. They convinced an ignorant jury that the overwhelming DNA was planted in the most intricate frame up ever and played off the undefunded, undertalented prosecutions mis-cues. A juror said when asked how they could refute the DNA evidence "lots of people have the same blood type". We need to eliminate double jeopardy. While we need protections against malictious prosecution, if evidence surfaces after an acquittal that there was negligence on the part of the jury, prosecution or defense...A re-trial can be given. Please, should it be morally, legally, or constitutionally permissible to admit to a murder after an acquittal? Something is very broken. How many innocent people are in jail because some poor sap had to get the public defender that was up against the esperienced prosecutor? We should promote defense lawyers to convince their clients to plead guilty if they truly are. We should encorporate a system much like a Military Court Martial. A panel of 7 elected judges, all educated and qualified would decide your fate. This would shorten all trails dramatically, and a bunch of lawyers would be jobless. No showboating, no explaining DNA to a high school dropout. Just the facts and evidence. I personally would not want to rest my fate on 12 strangers off the street, guilty or innocent. When I meet 12 people, at least 8 are complete idiots.
  19. These guys did a great job whoever they were. The crowd let out a huge gasp when the guys on the ellipticals hooked it (way high). The flag looked great in the afternoon light. 20. It seems all the people agahst at Rush making fun of Fox and suggesting he is faking are the first ones to make fun of Rushs' weight. What is Rush IS right? I have seen plenty of MJF on TV, and NEVER was he shaking like that, even in interviews post-Rush. Im not saying he was, but there certainly he was shaking WAY worse on the campaign add than in other interviews. Nobody went ape-shit when Colbert did this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PEbJ3UXH8Qw

    Pubes

Lets face it, pubes are gross. Most girls have figured this out and done us all a favor and took the old Gillette to the 'pube zone'. Guys, are we next? I asked a friend today about shaving my balls and where I shuld stop, kinda like a guy with a hairy chest that doesnt stop. He said - Shave it all.... Thats going to take some courage..... I relate it to the actors in gay porn that I accidentally say on the internet.... I hate hair period,,,,thats why I dont have pets.. I guess my question is to the girls..... Would you appreciate a Brazian Wax on us guys as much as we do on you??? Razor and Shave Cream in hand....... Mike

I just had another great idea....We had employee day and raffled off a bunch of baskets for charity. Next year, I am going to donate a basket... It will have lotion, a stuffed toy poodle, a hose and a sewing kit. Think anyone will get it?
