  1. Super cute pic of you and the bike, but yes, please put on your leathers when you ride. We don't want our N@ getting all scraped up.
  2. Nope! The shirt is burgundy red and the bike is much more of a cherry-red... But I *do* have a leather jacket that perfectly matches the bike... Pure coincidence as I've had the jacket for a couple of years now, but if I wanted to I could totally be matchy-matchy!!! 3. Closest place is Le Luc (head toward Marseille on the A8 - just over an hour from Nice). Alternatively, from Roquebrune Cap Martin (5 minutes from Monaco) you can do tandem paragliding. 4. Ok, so the Street Triple is a fantastic bike and actually better suited to what I would mostly use it for (commuting to and from work)... But I just liked this one too much
  5. Ah ha ha ha!!! Can't believe I wrote that!!!! I meant three cylinder!!! My brain clearly isn't all it should be when I am posting at 4-5 am!! "There is no problem so bad you can't make it worse." - Chris Hadfield « Sors le martinet et flagelle toi indigne contrôleuse de gestion. » - my boss
  6. If you liked the 250R, then check out the 300R; The difference is more than just a minor displacement increase: - HP jumped from 25HP to 35HP. - Better gas mileage. - Slipper clutch. I like my Versys, but a big caveat is that it is tall! I am 6'1", with legs disproportionately long for my height, and I wouldn't want it any taller. Strange... My 250R was 33 HP... Maybe different specs in the US?? ETA - one problem with the little Ninja is that they don't sell many of them over here... So I either have to buy new or wait until one is for sale... Would prefer to avoid buying new so it could be anywhere from tomorrow to 6 months from now before a second hand one becomes available for sale where it's located near where I live and is good value for money and hasn't been dropped (it is a "newbie bike") et cetera et cetera... 7. Almost everything Shroppy said!! And a lot of others besides, and also these: - shopping (I avoid it until my clothes are embarassingly tattered and can't for the life of me understand how anyone could find it fun) - owning a car that costs more than a house - convertibles - having lots of kids (I can sort of get wanting 2 or 3 but not 10...) - getting stupidly drunk - bragging about getting stupidly drunk - smoking weed - although since I've never tried I suppose I can't get it by default - using drugs/medication for every silly little thing... Pain is your body's way of telling you to stop/slow down... Medication that takes away that pain is helping you do the exact opposite of what your body needs in order to heal. - starbucks - rock climbing - swimming - costume parties - bullying others - long hair on men And sooo much more!!! 8. LOOOOOVE this bike. Love Triumphs in general. The look/sound/feel of them. But I do think I'm not ready for this yet... I will enjoy the R6 for a few years and then maybe the Street Triple...
  9. Agree - for a less experienced rider I would say Street Triple is more forgiving than an R6 Not that it's the determining factor, but all bikes are limited to 100 HP in France (or 106 HP, depending on how you look at it). Don't even get me started on how fucking retarded this law is - I could rant about it for hours... It's other little things like weight, 3-stroke, seat height, where I think the R6 is just better suited to me... And basically owning a Triumph psychologically would just be TOO MUCH like my wet dreams!!! I think I'd be worried all the time of getting the smallest scratch on it and would drive myself bonkers with stress!! But in all seriousness, I am test-driving both this weekend... Until I've done so, I'm only basing my knowledge on my internet research and that doesn't really tell me which one will actually *feel* right - maybe neither!!! Heck, I thought my little Ninja 250R was a very good bike for the daily commute, and perfectly fine to take on the highway/motorway... I would not be upset if I just got the same again... Inexpensive bike (to buy and to run), super cheap insurance, statistically low theft, reliable, light, low seat, comfortable riding position, easy to handle, "big bike" look - can't go wrong. 12. I can't stop thinking about this since your post... I guess it would be my rig. It's the only thing of value I managed to hold on to when I lost (almost) everything a few years back. 13. Gosh, for awhile there, I thought you wanted to meet me more than once. That would be fine by me
  14. Me too, believe me! I would have been crushed like a blueberry under those boulders!! "There is no problem so bad you can't make it worse." - Chris Hadfield « Sors le martinet et flagelle toi indigne contrôleuse de gestion. » - my boss
  15. I didn't post that before, I emailed it just to you Don't be jealous - you also saw it on my FB. Big baby. "There is no problem so bad you can't make it worse." - Chris Hadfield « Sors le martinet et flagelle toi indigne contrôleuse de gestion. » - my boss

  18. There isn't even an "old pic" of me in my leathers, so why get one at all?? Strange. I thought I remembered you posting a pic in leather. Must have been my pornographic memory. You mean this??? 20. This. Big time. When I got my Katana (save the jokes please), I did the research and called my insurance agent. Not as pricey as one would think (I had already looked into it). As far as a "safe" place to park it, my village is pretty safe, save the landslides that occur every hundred years or so... 21. So many people... Twardo, the Mitchells, LisaH, all the mods, Ryoder, shroppy, luckymcswervy, Wendy, oldwomanc6, Billy, to name just a few. "There is no problem so bad you can't make it worse." - Chris Hadfield « Sors le martinet et flagelle toi indigne contrôleuse de gestion. » - my boss

  23. I'm personally not a huge fan of Ducati. Plus they are out of my price range. I may be testing an R6 next week - assuming it hasn't been sold by then. Never tried one yet, but from the specs I know it's got a low-ish seat, and weighs only 1 kilo more than mine, and has more than enough cc's / hp for my regular usage... I don't think I will upgrade further after this, as I was already relatively happy with my little 250 cc. 24. Yep. It's been raining like crazy here since before Christmas and today about a dozen landslides occurred in the area. Bad luck that my bike is now under one of them. But hey... No one was hurt - that is the main thing. Just hoping they will officially declare it a natural disaster because otherwise insurances don't cover such things. No idea whether it will qualify - and in any case, I don't expect to get anything near the value of the bike. Suddenly *very* glad I didn't spend all of my savings on renovations!!!
