  1. Here its apparently Hamas that is behind the attack. 13 Israeli's dead 65 wounded and the stupid Muslim that blew himself up with the sole goal of accomplishing this "masterpiece"(in his mind atleast). Israel is currently bombing Gaza city trying to get one of the Hamas leaders, but does this really make any sense? I mean even if they kill him the ones underneath him will all simply move up in rank. I don't think it makes any sense. I think the only thing that does make sense (and its just a matter of time before the conservatives have the backbone to say it and the liberals just shut up), is to ban this religion completely. (Kill them all if you have to,they have no problem killing us). Its not a 20th century problem. They have been a problem since they were first around in the 6th century. It took my Spanish ancestors 700 years to get them out of Spain and we fought them from the day they came in. I hate them!!! I guess this bombing just gives me more reason to hate them. Then again since they have done so much worse in the past, this is really just miniscule. If I could make a wish, I think I'd pass. 2. I typically don't like pleasure reading. I guess the closest I come to that is reading historical stuff. That said if I was looking for a book to read right now, (non-technical) I would look for a book on a great man, George S. Patton. If I couldn't read something factual I would stay away from fiction and read porn, you know good quaIity porn is definately something that will keep you from putting the book down. If I could make a wish, I think I'd pass. Can't think of anything I need No cigarettes, no sleep, no light, no sound. Nothing to eat, no books to read.
  3. Dallas Humid? Do think that a place where people have to water their foundation to keep from getting cracks on the ground which will in turn crack the foundation of their houses causing extremely expensive damages, is a humid place? Dallas compared to just about anywhere in the East coast is anything but humid. Having grown up in the East coast with all the trees and insects that accompany humidity I wasn't sure whether or not to refer to Dallas as desert or not when I first moved here. With time ofcourse I found out that there were dryer places like Phoenix or Death Valley. If I could make a wish, I think I'd pass. 4. Just for the sake of accuracy, I will make some corrections. There is no European Auto Bahn. That is just Germany. Bahn Is road in German. Next this myth that there is no speed limit in Germany is exactly that, a myth. Anywhere near a city in the German highways has a speed limit of 130 kilometers per hour or slower. It is true that in many open areas on the German highways you are aloud to go as fast as you want. But everytime they have less and less of those parts and its only in Germany anyway. As for going 150 (I assume you mean miles) well that does not happen very often, certainly not on a daily basis as most cars don't even go that fast. Have you ever been in a car going over 130? I have and let me tell you the road looks wierd as hell as white lines are passing really fast and everything is happening really fast. It takes a very high level concentration to do this even semi-safely and for that reason nobody is going to go cruising for a long trip at a speed like that. Cars can't tolerate that speed for a long time. The tires would wear out radically fast, you would need oil changes three times as often and that is assuming you have one hell of a sportscar like a Ferrari testarosa or a Viper because if because you would burn out the engine on a BMW M3 if you kept it consistently at that speed and most people can't even afford a car that fast. If there are more accidents in the American highways its because there are more people driving. I am sure the accident rate in higher in Germany. Don't get me wrong I hate speed limits. I would love for there to be no speed limits. I believe it should be people's choice if they want to go faster or not. I also believe I could drive faster safely than a lot of people slowly. But I am not going to deny statistics and there are countless studies in the U.S. proving that there are less accidents when they lower the speed limits from 65 to 55. If I could make a wish, I think I'd pass. Can't think of anything I need No cigarettes, no sleep, no light, no sound. Nothing to eat, no books to read.

    The Ranch

the ranch is about 2 and a half hours away from Pt. Pleasant. If I could make a wish, I think I'd pass. Can't think of anything I need No cigarettes, no sleep, no light, no sound. Nothing to eat, no books to read.
  6. I have had the same concern. For that reason after I took mine out of my rig for pond swooping I sold it and never replaced it. There is no question in my mind I am going well over 78 MPH on my dive the only question I have is for how long must that speed be maintained in order to fire it. If I could get a cypress set to 98 I probably would buy it. If I could make a wish, I think I'd pass. Can't think of anything I need No cigarettes, no sleep, no light, no sound. 7. Bush cooked the books? Not Clinton right, he was too honest a man for that, Yeah Riight! In any case we can agree so far as to say that the answer is to cut spending. But what you don't seem to understand is that raising taxes results, as it always has, in less federal revenue. This is due to companies going bankrupt or just making cut backs to deal with higher expenditures. Those cut backs typically are real people like me and 78,000 others from Nortel alone. Its funny that you mentioned Russia. I know that often the Russian government simply does not pay their Military people when they don't have enough money. That is an interesting strategy when you don't have money to pay you can avoid deficit just by not paying the people you owe. I don't know enough Polish people to give you annecdotes about them. But I do know we are providing assistance to Russia or at least we were. I guess we could stop that and help bring our deficit down and let theirs go up a little, if they pay some more creditors that is. If I could make a wish, I think I'd pass. 8. I want to draw attention to the National Debt! May 27, 2003 NOTE: Today a bill was signed that increases the Debt limit to a new high of $7.4 Trillion dollars. Just prior to the singing, the Debt was $6.4 Trillion and immediately jumped up $82 Billion. I wonder how long it will take "your" elected representatives in Congress to "borrow" a additional Trillion dollars? The debt increases because the U.S. Government spends more than it collects in taxes. This is called deficit spending. We have such a large debt because Congress has consistently spent more than it has collected for the past 20 years! If we had a balanced budget TODAY, the debt would continue to increase slightly due to interest and overhead. We would still have the current debt of over $6.5 Trillion. We have to start developing a budget "surplus" to begin to pay off the debt. DO WE HAVE A SURPLUS NOW? Yes! No! Sometimes! Some days we do, and other days we don't! Some days the Debt goes up, and other days it goes down! Let me explain. First; don't confuse a budget surplus or budget deficit with the "actual spending"! Every day the Government has to (by law) pay off some of the Debt by retiring certain Debt Instruments (such as T-Bills, CD's, etc.) as they come due. Then, every day, the Government may decide to create more new debt! If we create more new Debt than we pay of, in a given day, the National Debt increases. However, if we pay off more than we cerate new, then the National Debt decreases. It is just that simple! And just that complicated! During the first week of January 2003, as we were preparing for war, and while the Democrats were whining about defense spending, the National Debt actually went down; from $$6.40 Trillion on Dec. 31, 2002 to $6.38 Trillion on Jan. 8, 2003. That's a $20 Billion payoff of the Debt while the economy is not the best and while we are in the middle of the War on Terrorism! How did G. W. Bush do that? Why, under a Democrat controlled Whitehouse and Congress (Clinton Years) and booming economic times, did the National Debt always go up? Answer; too much SPENDING! want to learn more http://www.toptips.com/debtclock.html If I could make a wish, I think I'd pass. Can't think of anything I need No cigarettes, no sleep, no light, no sound. Nothing to eat, no books to read.
  9. what did you do go down the list and find the country that came the closest and still you found that we were better off than them? Why don't you quote Italy's numbers, or Greece, or Portugal or even Spain. Lets not even think about Eastern Europe where the tax from the Rich and give to the poor totally destroyed all of their economies. Yes Poland, the Cech Republic, Belarus, Slovakia, Hungary, Russia, Ukraine and all of the former Yugoslavia are all living in third world standards. Now back to our deficit, are you aware that more than half of our deficit is coming from Medicare. And that if you really want to cut our deficit significantly you need to cut this drastically. You can finger point all you want to military spending but the deficit did not all accumulate over the course of this year. Besides this war will pay for itself anyway. The only way I can see that using gasoline would be causing a war would be if you said that if we didn't buy oil, then the Arabs/muslims wouldn't have any money. And if they didn't have any money then they couldn't fund terrorism. Now if they can't fund terrorism then we don't need to go over there and protect ourselves like we did. Is that what your saying? I might see some logic to that. If I could make a wish, I think I'd pass. Can't think of anything I need No cigarettes, no sleep, no light, no sound. Nothing to eat, no books to read.
  10. how is that off the topic? I am stating that they don't care about the fact that they know there policies will fail because regardless of the fact that their policies will fail they will be fine. All they care about is making the winers that want to hear all the take from the rich and give to the poor socialist ideas happy. This is the way they will continue to get elected and feel powerful. If I could make a wish, I think I'd pass. Can't think of anything I need No cigarettes, no sleep, no light, no sound. Nothing to eat, no books to read.
  11. Lets see my father has two offices. (physician) One is in Northern Jersey the other is in central Jersey. He works at both of them daily (about 70 miles daily on an Escalade). So your telling me he should be forced to take a train or drive some little rice burning Japanese piece of crap? Or should he not be allowed to have two offices? See America is the great land of the free that most people in the world want to immigrate to because of our laws controlling taxation. You don't need to look very far, pick any country you want in Europe go over there and see how much the price of gasoline is. Then inquire and you will find that usually 78% of the price will be taxation because the government figured people need to drive so they can screw them there. But don't forget to look at the entire picture. Find out what their National Debt is and then you will see that the U.S. is so so so much more fiscally responsible than any European country that it will just shock you. So their high taxes don't pay off after all. I understand that the majority of Americans will not look into this enough to get a clear understanding for the way things are. But I find it hard to believe that the Democrat politicians are all too stupid to see things the way they are. Instead I believe that their stupid fiscally irresponsible policies are simply because they don't care. Hell the country can go into another great depression and the Kennedy's are still going to live like kings in their compounds. I think the top ten richest congressman are all Democrats. 12. Don't forget that your a skydiver. I am assuming you know how much fuel/oil is burning for the sole purpose of jumping out of planes. When you start bashing SUV, sports car owners or anybody using a lot of gasonile,(typical lefty tactics) it will eventually come back and affect what you love to do as well, SKYDIVING!!! 13. About base jumping; Base jumping is like Bullriding you take you life and play Russian roulette with it everytime you do it. (not that I wouldn't bullride, you can see the attachment) But if you think that a careful packjob and stable body position will assure you reasonable safety then you need to talk to some base jumpers.(base jumpers with more than 100 jumps) I know a few of them and all of them have one thing in common, shit has gone wrong at one point or another. 180 degree openings have put them into walls or towers. Longer than expected snivels have resulted in broken ankles or legs and we all know the incidents get only more serious. As I have always said I believe in personal freedom above all else but if you are going to ban something in skydiving then I think base jumping should be first on the list, as it is the most dangerous with the least to gain. If I could make a wish, I think I'd pass. Can't think of anything I need No cigarettes, no sleep, no light, no sound. Nothing to eat, no books to read.
  14. You know this minimum pull altitude example is getting a bit old. As far as I am concerned the minimum pull altitude is too low as it is. I rarely pull under 3,000. In the past year I have only pulled at 2500 when I have been forced to because its what the old-timer RW guys want to do It seems to me like passing a law that you can't drink amonia. As I understood it the minimum pull altitudes were not USPA BSRs. It was just USPA's way of explaining hey if you drink enough amonia it will kill you, so don't be stupid. In this case if you pull too low and have a malfunction you won't be able to jump again cause you will die on impact. Its not like wingloading that could depend on your skill. Its just plain and simple we all get line twists from time to time. (no matter how good you pack or your body position is) If you deploy a 1000 feet then get line twists on a high performance canopy you will die or serious injure yourself. So the comparison does not follow. Its just not the same. If I could make a wish, I think I'd pass. Can't think of anything I need No cigarettes, no sleep, no light, no sound. 15. That all will come down math and what a joy math is. Bigger canopies have a tendency to swoop slower for a longer period of time from the same approach. Sometimes longer but not always. Now if you take two senarios it will all be clear. Don't get hung up on the numbers because I don't have exact ones but you can still see the point. Suppose canopy A was wingloaded X and canopy B was wingloaded at X + Y: (Y > 0). Canopy A, from an approach, might surf at and average speed of 20 miles per hour for a period of 6 seconds. Meanwhile, canopy B might go at an average of 40 miles per hour for a period of 3 seconds. Given this case they are both swooping the same distance. But now throw a 20 MPH downwind in. Canopy A will go and average of 40 mph for 6 seconds and Canopy B will go 60 miles per hour for 3 seconds. In this case canopy A will go further. So it follows that a lighter wingloading will benifit more from a downwind componet. The reverse is true going upwind but unless the upwind is quite significant the results are quite minimal. I don't think they would have a competition with a 20 MPH headwind all the people loading in the low 2s would be wining about it, at least I think that. If I could make a wish, I think I'd pass. 16. typically 6 minutes. Although now with my new removable slider probably closer to 9 minutes. It takes about a minute to put on and then 2 minutes to stare at in every possible angle to make sure its done right. If I could make a wish, I think I'd pass. Can't think of anything I need No cigarettes, no sleep, no light, no sound. Nothing to eat, no books to read.
  17. I think that is relative. But in anycase I think a 2.2 wingloading can definately be landed in a 10 MPH downwind without sliding it in and without falling. At least I know I could do it. If I could make a wish, I think I'd pass. Can't think of anything I need No cigarettes, no sleep, no light, no sound. Nothing to eat, no books to read.
  18. Yes your moving with the wind. Just like a boat on river with the current will have the speed increased by the current speed. If in no wind when you flared all the way you reached a speed of x MPH. Then with a 5 mile per hour down wind you would be going x + 5 MPH. When you start dragging your feet this whole equation gets thrown out the window for other reasons. It gets complicated I will let somebody else try to explain that one. But anyway my canopy without dragging my feet will probably stall near 10 MPH. So if I had to run 15 MPH it would be unpleasant, 18 I might not be able to do and more than that, well you get the picture. If I could make a wish, I think I'd pass. Can't think of anything I need No cigarettes, no sleep, no light, no sound. Nothing to eat, no books to read.
  19. On a downwind swoop you will swoop for the same period of time but the downwind component can be added as is to your airspeed making your new ground speed that much higher. Since your ground speed is higher you cover more distance. The downside is your touchdown speed is higher too. If you can handle it by sliding your feet through it or if your canopy is slower to begin with due to a light wingloading (like 2.2 or less) then its no big deal. Its hard to convince me to do a downwind on purpose in winds greater than 8 miles per hour. I can do it safely but typically I won't stay on my feet and that sucks. If I could make a wish, I think I'd pass. Can't think of anything I need No cigarettes, no sleep, no light, no sound. Nothing to eat, no books to read.

  22. I don' remember where I got this picture but I remember seeing it for sale for like $200. If I was a rigger I would make it I think it looks so cool. What do you all think? 23. I have heard a lot of people advise to use both together. I like to use the front one first and then follow with the back one. Unless I am in a curve in which case I will just use only the front one. You have more stopping power with both you just have to make sure you lead with the front or else the back tire will slide totally out of control. But if it was better to never use the rear brake then they wouldn't even put it on there. If I could make a wish, I think I'd pass. 24. I don't know how to feel about this safety course. I don't know how much it costs but I think most of it can be summarized real quickly without having to sit in a classroom. 1. Try not to shift gears in a turn while learning 2. Assume the cars don't give a shit if they kill you and therefore will not look out for you. This is probably the biggest problem a biker faces. 3. Never hit the back brake alone, if you do this hard enough when going over 20 miles per hour the best case senario is you will have to change your underwear after the bike swivels all over the place. 4. In the rain ride on the tire tracks of the cars. The part of the lane inbetween is likely to mix the rain oil from the cars. Other things that they would teach you in the course, you would have to know for you license anyway IE. how to stagger bikes when riding in groups, not to tailgate, enter a turn slower than your bike can handle and gently accelerate after already in it. They would also teach how to bail out. I am not so sure this is a good thing though. Without leathers bailing out garantees a hospital visit and outrageous damage to the bike. I think it may typically better to concentrate on altering your course or thinking ahead to keep from getting into a position where you need to bail. If I could make a wish, I think I'd pass. 25. if your strong enough, your arms are long enough and your really dettermined to make it all go to shit, then I think its possible to collapse your canopy by pulling down to far on a riser. But realistically you will be in such a steep dive long before that concern comes into play that you won't keep pulling far enough to collapse it. As for turbulence the faster you go the less likely your canopy is to collapse. (Assuming your canopy is fully and properly inflated already) My primary objective when flying in turbulence is to get out of brakes as soon as possible and to turn the least or slowest possible until I get under the turbulence. When the turbulence goes all the way to the ground I feel very unhappy and start to question whether or not I want to be jumping that day. I have no problem relying on my skills to get me out of trouble but it really makes me feel uneasy when the only determining whether or not I will fuck myself up is luck as it would be flying with turbulence near the ground. If I could make a wish, I think I'd pass. Can't think of anything I need No cigarettes, no sleep, no light, no sound. Nothing to eat, no books to read.
