Well, he's home now and the doctors have given him about four days. Everyone there is handling it well, all things considered. But he is still being a "punk" about it though and not following doctor's orders. He's not supposed to leave the house, so of course that's his current mission! My grandmother and uncle tried to take the keys to his truck away, but he wouldn't have any of that! They all finally agreed that he could keep his keys, which made him feel better. However my uncle, a car mechanic, waited until grandpa was sleeping, then went and removed the alternator from grandpa's truck! If grandpa is able to sneak past his guards somehow, I can just hear him now... "damn POS Ford won't start!" grumble grumble grumble All of us here have essentially said our goodbyes, so now we just wait. I wouldn't be surprised if we get a few more "grandpa stories" to chuckle at before he passes though. Grandpa wouldn't have it any other way! ~skysprite

Okay not quite. But close. Eeeeek I hate short hair on me! It'll take me a while to get used to this, if I ever do get used to it. Lucky for me my hair grows super fast! But still, I'll enjoy the ease of short hair for a while.

My Grandfather is in the hospital right now, and at this point no one knows how much longer he has. He could pass tonight, or he could pull through and live through Christmas, another year, whatever. No one knows, so everyone is hoping for the best but expecting the worst. I sent my Grandmother an email tonight asking that she read it to him. It essentially said he was loved, and I told him a story that I think he'd get a kick out of, thanked him for some of my early childhood memories, etc. My Dad called and talked to him tonight. He's still kicking and giving the nurses and doctors hell! Apparently they took him by ambulance and when they picked him up, they forgot to grab his teeth. Grandpa hasn't lost his sense of humor, because he kept telling my Dad he wants his teeth because dammit, he wants to bite someone if they don't get him ______! Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers for either a speedy recovery, or an easy, painless transition.

You know, if you keep telling it like that I'm going to forget how the conversation actually went and start to believe I said it that way! Not fair! *Not that what I actually said wasn't just as "brilliant" but hey, I'll take points where I can! I was born blonde afterall! Or at least that's my excuse anyway! ~skysprite

is that a PA?......just kidding I don't know about that, but I did set up a counseling line for any of the unsuspecting NM drivers who encountered him over the weekend and just need to talk about the experience. I'm told I should make a full recovery. Ahh good times.

- Don't ever trust Peter in a pool! Or rather don't ever make fun of him by mimicking his Cindy Brady impression ("I held my sit!!!") and not expect retaliation, in a pool. - It doesn't take a whole lot to amuse or entertain him. I showed him around Albuquerque and took him to historic old town Santa Fe, but I really think he had the most fun at the Walmart in Rio Rancho! - He drives like a New Yorker. Nuff said. - Don't ever quote Phantom, Cats, Le Mis, and probably a few others I'm forgetting, around him. Rent is okay. Especially if you're in Santa Fe. - ... He thinks this year is leap year because "September has 29 days it in!" (yeah yeah, I know you're gonna toss back some of the blonde things I said this weekend, but it'll be worth it! ) All kidding aside though, Peter is good people. I thoroughly enjoyed hanging out this weekend! If any of you ever have the opportunity to meet up with this guy, I would strongly encourage you to do it!

File this under "just gotta share"... I haven't signed since I took a summer class at Gallaudet University over a year ago, but I was walking through Wal Mart tonight and, to make a long story short, ended up making five new deaf friends who invited me to attend homecoming at the School for the Deaf in Santa Fe with them! It's amazing how much you forget in a year if you don't practice, but it was also pretty amazing how fast it came back to me just being there and doing it again! Now that I've graduated and don't have access to the ASL club on campus I've been trying to think of ways to get back into signing and attend some community events, and here this falls right into my lap! I think we all chatted in the middle of Wal Mart for about 45 minutes! It was a lot of fun! ~skysprite

I like it! Got a call for an interview for Monday, so that's good news on the job search front! Now I get to research the company and position, and figure out whether I should try to commute, take a shuttle bus, carpool, or just move 50 miles if I get the job! But I'm getting a little ahead of myself. *goes off to research company* ~skysprite

The job search is sucking at the moment. Yesterday was a bad day in that department. I am bummed out and wasn't quite able to fully bounce back after yesterday's disappointment. Help me shake it off! I have a friend that was banned from Wal Mart for a week or so for doing crazy stuff. She would also put condoms and the like in little old couple's carts then watch as they get rung up. She and a friend also decided to go shopping, but could only pick up items from other peoples carts! And the last one she was really cracking up over so I didn't get the whole story, but it was something about the hunting/sporting goods section and the stuffed animal section. With her, you never know!! ~skysprite
