  3. Hey all! I'm looking for the jumpers i've met in Norway last summer. I firewired their video and now i'm looking for their names/contacts. First. The norwegian jumper who filmed my 2-way with JC on Extreme Week from the exit point. I'm 90% sure his name was CJ, but want to confirm that. Video -- JC doing gainer wearing orange track pants and me filming him wearing red&grey stuff. PAL video. Second. The american guy who filmed my 2-way with norwegian Karina from #6 "diving board" of Kjerag from the exit point. He stayed in braun cottage in camping with his friends. Video -- Karina doing multiple front flips wearing blue and white stuff and me filming her wearing red-yellow-green stuff. The video is NTSC. If you have seen that video or know the authors -- PM me please. Thanks. Lika. Between two evils always pick theone never tried
  4. About flying between the wires -- looks not so easy here -- because that A is 1) SQUARE, 2) has 5 levels of wires -- 2 lower attached to one point on the ground and 3 upper... And unexpectedly short delay that means short separation from the construction. And poor skills -- some 30 jumps. RIP. Between two evils always pick theone never tried
  5. Detailed report from siberian crew and photo of the jumper have been posted on Nick's mail. Between two evils always pick theone never tried

  10. I jump because 1. People. All the jumpers I've met jumping different sites are very special and very interesting people. All my close friends are more or less relative to base. 2. Places. Base is a good reason to start travelling and enjoy it. Because of the beautifull nature sites and nice city objects. You'll never get bored in a new place because you have something to do -- jump, and somebody to party with afterwards -- jumpers. 3. Visuals and feelings. You could watch the "Matrix", "Swordfish", "Fight club", "X-men" etc. movies again but better do a dozen of jumps from different objects of different legality. watch your partner doing aerials -- the visuals are hard to describe but also hard to forget. 4. Activity. Gym is boring, long sinless hike is for grandmothers, acrobatics and climbing need stimulations if you're not a professional who's doing it from childhood. And..... i missed my childhood then the jump over the fense or climb on a tree were the usual things. It's not ok for the 20+ years old girl but absolutely normal for a basejumper. I wanna do all these things and i'm doing it callin' it "BASE". Between two evils always pick theone never tried

    BASE WIKI

It was nice to find that "BASE romance" article there. Thank you for posting it.
  13. There is a couple of old USSR gymnastic trainers... One of them is working in Russia -- he has a big coaching experience in gymnastic (Olympic games etc.) and skydiving experience (accuracy & style competitions of ancient time). He offers "BASE specific trampoline & gymnastics" I've heard about another one who's working in Hungary. He's also "old schooler" who's teaching hungarian base crew. my new rig

This doesn't appear to be working. Is there another link for the English version, or is it down for maintenance? Ok. Now there is the "English version" button on the main page www.atmogear.com. And it's working.) Between two evils always pick theone never tried

    Wing Loading

0.61 to 0.63 on my MDV Troll 245. I like it. Especcially with my great landing and flaring skills. No problems with trees or stones, you know. As well as with the openings. But sometimes i'm way to light weighted for the long flights.... have found ~20 reserve landings while doing my 20+ jumps at Italian TW. Used to jump unvented 220 canopy havin' 0.71 to 0.75 on it.... That was ok too -- i'm still alive and unhurt.

    Pin Rigs Suck!

What's the benefits? Packing is easier! I'm a lazy packer -- i always close the upper pin with my canopy folded just once, and than i just put the upper fold (small one) into a half closed rig. Climbing is easier. I prefer to climb with the rig on shoulders, not with the stash-bag. It's a bit safer to climb with the pin rig than with velcro.) Terminal, tracking, aerials, colisions, linked stuff.... bla-bla-bla.... Finally it's COOL LOOKING. My canopy is one-size bigger than my container. My rig is small, it's shape is perfect and it looks nice. I prefer to be good-looking in my own eyes. Just to feel myself ready and able to do anything i want to do in BASE. I've seen only one cool-looking velcro rig myself -- that was SOFT COCK that belongs to Ray. All other velcro's i've seen looked a bit "old-style". Between two evils always pick theone never tried

    Used gear -- prices

What do you think, how much lost the price of a canopy after a water (salt/fresh) landing, how the patches change the price, what about the number of jumps? For example (but just as example! My canopy is priceless for me and I'm not gonna sell it...) It has 1 salt water landing, 3 fresh water... ~200 jumps on it (1:1 slider up and down), DOM is May 2003, 1 huge (60X40 cm) pacth on a top skin and a couple of small rip-stop patches (1X2 cm) on a bottom skin. Lower control lines were replaced once and the attachment point of fifth line was moved to the forth line. upd:... and it's dirty!:) What's up with its price? The Q is not the actual price but how much should I subtract from the new canopy price. There is a lot of jumpers selling their gear here (in my country:)) and sometimes the pricing looks too personal. That's ok the owner has a chance to get the money he wants for his gear, the person who's ready to buy it for that price is ready and it's up to him... But i guess some community opinion does exist? So what influences on a canopy price? Between two evils always pick theone never tried

    Wich one?

Can you tell us how many jumps you have on that canopy, and how many jumps you have on which other canopies you are using as a basis for the comparison? Yes.
  23. Lee846

    Wich one?

I'm jumping MDV TRoll 225 (which is actually 245), ~0.6 wind loading. Why I like it? 1. I'm doing only camera jumps in BASE. And I prefer to hold on short distance (if possible) and to pull above the jumper, not on the side (sometimes the the jumpable sector is not wide enough:) to track to the side). Havin' a vented canopy I am sure about my openings. Even if I f***d up a pulling movement of my performer a little bit and trow PC at the same time... My Troll is a big red "STOP" button. 2. Slider-off. Even then I have a 42' AV PC on 90m B, there all the crew prefer 46' I'm relaxed. Logic: if a couple of my friends jump it with old sh**ty CReW canopies it means that I can do twice as longer delay. 3. Terminal: I just bought a small mesh slider!:) 4. Flare: i"ve done a couple of 10's tree- or stone- landings. Never ripped my canopy. Never got scared of extra landing area picked on the way to regular landing. I know that with that canopy it's possible the land soft and safe on any tiny spot you like. 5. Heading!!!! The openings heading is perfect! 6. Offheading: it's easy to fix offheading with that canopy. Close or not, risers or toggles.... it's easy. I love my MDV Troll! Between two evils always pick theone never tried
