  1. I think the Photographer was Lee Webb, or maybe Mike. Only the good die young, so I have found immortality,
  2. Seems there should be tons of pictures of the good times there. There was the time Mark Smith had a cut-away and his Main landed on top of the corn, Brain Fairhurst (spelling is wrong) landed next to it not knowing the corn was about 7 feet tall and the field was flooded with mud a couple of feet deep. I was flying up above and watched him disappear into the corn with just his main on top next to Mark's. I landed on the dirt road and for the next half hour heard him sloshing around to climb out covered from head to toe in mud holding two muddy main under each arm. 7. The C-206 had a new pilot being checked out on her first load of jumpers. It blew a tire just before take off, made a quick 90 and went thru the fence, she didn't get the job. Billy Reed was the jumpmaster and didn't seem to mind. The King Air's nose gear wouldn't extend for landing. There was a tandem and her friend who was an observer to see if she wanted to jump, The Tandem had a spinning malfunction cut-away and landed Ok, and the King Air spent the next half hour doing hard pitch ups trying the shake the gear lose. As soon as the plane landed the two of them got the hell off the airport as fast as they could never to be seen again. Only the good die young, so I have found immortality,
  8. I thought ASO was short for the guy who grounded you for the low pull, because he was a ASshOle for doing that ? Only the good die young, so I have found immortality,
  9. Glad he's still kicking, We were sitting around drinking beer at the end of the day talking about "what ever happen to,...." and Jim Papki ( spelling my be wrong) said he heard that he died. bad rumor, He won't remember me, I was all new and shiney when he left Cal-City. But when I did my first jump out of the DC-3, I was last out and he put me out over the train tracks a few miles from the DZ. I love the story when he was packing his rig and the owner came in and grabbed his main to throw him out, they got in a tug-a-war, Les had his container, they were pulling back and forth when Les pulled his cut-away handle sending the owner flying out the door backwards. we still get a chuckle to this day over that. 11. That's what I was hoping for, people to share there memories and photos. Some where I have a lot of them, I just can't find them. It was always so special there........ My boy always had a way with the ladies there, I'm so proud of him. Only the good die young, so I have found immortality,
  12. The thing to do is cross your right arm over the front to your left side then cross your left arm behind your back to the right side, cross your right leg over your left leg. this won't make your chance for survival any better , but it will make it easer for the rescue crew to unscrew you out of the ground. 13. This weekend will be labor day, That use to mean skydiving at Costerison's. Farm, Own by Hal Costerison and his wife. Steve Fielding would organize mini boogies twice a year there. Grass runway, Skip's DC-3, and great jumps, We would spend the weekend jumping and partying, People would fly in, drive in and camp, bring there RV's or stay in town. Always a good time. Sometimes it was Jan's DC-3 "Our Douglas", or a D-18. The first time I jump there was in 86 or 87, when Van was called to bring out his Otter when there planed Aircraft broke. Not to many rules, except be cool, don't leave a mess and keep the drinking out of sight and don't land in the Buffalo pen. Rarely was the an injury and nothing seriously. Hal Costerison dies the result of a plane crash in March 1990, We jumped in there a couple of week before for the first jump of what may have been the last Round Robin. For the last few years after that his Wife would let Fielding continue with his boogies till her death. The last jumps there were Oct 3 1999. The farm in still there, the grass runway is gone, it's a catfish pond now. And the memories will last for ever. Only the good die young, so I have found immortality,

I've got just over 3 years to go.] I remember a time in Elsinor you were doing video for the boys of SOS, and were they call you "Kid"? Only the good die young, so I have found immortality,

  19. Back when My Girlfriend ( before she was my wife). She was a new jumper, we would be last out, so she could pull high, we would take to spot out long, and land way out, and have a little fun before walking back to the DZ. At times, It would become a game hiding from the truck that would come out looking for us. Yes the was back in the day before I turned my sex kitten into a Mom. 23. Quote "I loved all of Robs shirts in the 1980's" Hey timmer, yeah his art was cool, the hooker boogie shirt and others. I have a lot to thank Rob for, He brought out this little red head for his work for her first jump, I ended up marrying her. She stashed all my old skydiving t-shirts and later made a quilt out of them. It looks really cool. BSBD, Cary. p.s. say hello to your Dad for me. And was still working for GE, GE moved the test faciltiy from Mojave to Victorville so he might have moved out that way, But thats just a guess, he might have even retired by now, He said he wasn't jumping much made a few somewhere in the Mid-West where he started. Only the good die young, so I have found immortality,
