  1. No they do not. The merchandise and the receipt are his property the second he pays for it and he can do with it what he wishes. The only right the store has at that point is to ask him to leave and not come back. _________________________________________ -There's always free cheese in a mouse trap.
  2. Sure he should have been surprised, as would I. If the nimrod tries to physically prevent me from leaving with no legal justification, I get to physically defend myself against unlawfull detention/assault. Good times! _________________________________________ -There's always free cheese in a mouse trap.
  3. I got it, I quoted and replied to a different scenario. _________________________________________ -There's always free cheese in a mouse trap.
  4. For declining to show a receipt for an item I had just purchased? I don't think so. The store can ask for the moon if they want but, they have no authority to enforce anything at that point. All they can do is tell the guy not to come back. If I were a cop called in that situation, I would want to know why I was called in to enforce a lame store policy. IMO, the guy made two mistakes: 1) Not crushing the store employees leg in his car door when he followed him to his car and prevented him from closing his door; and 2) not producing id for the cop (not very smart). _________________________________________ -There's always free cheese in a mouse trap.
  5. Frankly, no. In my experience, that sort of mythical value is self imposed, not necessarily self realised. _________________________________________ -There's always free cheese in a mouse trap.
  6. Reel mowers work best on low growing, creeping grasses like bermuda and zoysia. The are meant to keep the grass at about a half inch in height or so. Environmentally friendly and a great workout. _________________________________________ -There's always free cheese in a mouse trap.
  7. Ha! Dope testing at a skydiving competition. BWAHAHAH! _________________________________________ -There's always free cheese in a mouse trap.
  8. Actually, I'd prefer congress make the laws and the SCOTUS interpret the constitution...and have Bush keep his nose out of it. You know, the way it's supposed to be. _________________________________________ -There's always free cheese in a mouse trap.
  9. If the story is even remotely true, I doubt she will have any choice in the matter. _________________________________________ -There's always free cheese in a mouse trap.
  10. According to the Executive Orders that govern that sort of thing, the authority to declassify information lies with the individual who classified it in the first place (CIA). They were not consulted, neither was the White House or Dept of State Offices of Security who grants clearances to WH and Administtration Stafers (including Rove, Armitage who disclosed classified info to Novak? without authorization...and they still have their clearance...the WH Office of Security never even investigated it). This whole thing stinks. _________________________________________ -There's always free cheese in a mouse trap.
  11. If you disregard the jumper bit, it would seem we men prefer younger women by a factor of 2:1. That would track with my own experience as of late FWIW, as well as my friends. _________________________________________ -There's always free cheese in a mouse trap.
  12. "I Can't Stop Loving You" by Ray Charles I saw Van Morrison sing it live last month...classic. _________________________________________ -There's always free cheese in a mouse trap.
  13. It has a perfect pop song meter..., but STD might be lyrically difficult for her considering her snow white image. Well, lets see: "I got tested at the county clinic for free, 'cause even white trash girls don't need no STD." Sweet. _________________________________________ -There's always free cheese in a mouse trap.
  14. I was not there and state laws tend to differ, so its hard to comment on the specific situation. It, however, sounds like you may lack the impartiality and legal justification to correctly claim that the cops and prosecutor were wrong in this case. Strangely enough, I once had a verbal disagreement with a neighbor (who was drunk) and he also went inside and also came outside with a sword in hand and started to walk down the street toward me with it. If I had been armed, I would have killed him DRT. Instead, I went inside and he went back to his place. He was subsequently arrested and charged with assault with a deadly weapon. I'm not saying your sis assaulted anyone, but once she was inside she had removed herself from any percieved threat and had no legit reason to go back outside with a sword. _________________________________________ -There's always free cheese in a mouse trap.

  16. A legit question deserves a legit answer: If you sit in the corner reading a book, you will certainly not be approached. If you sit in a booth with your girlfriends and never look up, you will probably not be approached. If you sit at an open table in the middle of the bar and take notice of others, you probably will be approached. If on any given Friday or Saturday night in any city on the planet; you put on something reasonably attractive, go with some girlfriends (or alone) to a bar that heterosexual men frequent and actually go and sit at the bar and order a few drinks...you are virtually guaranteed to be approached. Women are in the drivers seat in this regard, it's up to you if you want to leave it in park, cruise in automatic, or burn rubbers.....I mean rubber. _________________________________________ -There's always free cheese in a mouse trap.
  17. Is that so... Taken from information released today by the Chairman of the House Government Oversight Committee: Ms. Wilson was a covert employee of the CIA. We cannot discuss all of the details of her CIA emploSrment in open session. I have met with General Hayden, the head of the CIA, to discuss what I can and cannot say about Ms. Wilson's service. My staff has also worked with the agency to ensure these remarks do not contain classified information. I have been advised by the CIA that even now, after all that has happened, I cannot disclose the full nafure, scope, and character of Ms. 'Wilson's service to our nation without causing serious damage to our national security interests. But General Hayden and the CIA have cleared these following comments for today's hearing. During her employment at the CIA, Ms. Wilson was under cover. Her employment status with the CIA was classified information prohibited from disclosure under Executive Order 12958. At the time of the publication of Robert Novak's column on July 14,2003, Ms. Wilson's CIA employment status was covert. This was classified information. Ms. Wilson served in senior management positions at the CIA, in which she oversaw the work of other CIA employees, and she attained the level of GS-14, step 6 under the federal pay scale. Ms. Wilson worked on some of the most sensitive and highly secretive matters handled by the CIA. Ms. Wilson served at various times overseas for the CIA. Without discussing the specifics of Ms. W'ilson's classified work, it is accurate to say that she worked on the prevention of the development and use of weapons of mass destruction against the United States. In her various positions at the CIA, Ms. Wilson faced significant risks to her personal safety and her life. _________________________________________ -There's always free cheese in a mouse trap.
  18. That pretty much says it all. Who in their right mind would not want to make absolutely certain that such far reaching authorities were not being abused, for whatever reason. _________________________________________ -There's always free cheese in a mouse trap.
  19. I think I counted about 79 that I have owned. IMHO, at least 25% of their list is complete rubbish. It was good to see some rap in there though, but to have Public Enemy at the bottom makes the list less than definitive....and the list is seriously lacking in the Punk and Blues genres...but they got Footloose in there!!! _________________________________________ -There's always free cheese in a mouse trap.
  20. No, Libby's testimony was about him revealing Plame's status as an employee of the CIA, which was in and of itself classified information that Cheney told Libby to release to the media. Neither Cheney nor Libby can be criminally prosecuted for doing so, it was just a totally amoral thing to do. If the administration had grounds to fire Plame, I'm sure they would have done so. Instead, they entered into ethical bankrupcy by ruining her career, and in the process probably revealed intelligence gathering methods and endangered foreign sources...all in the name of politics. Great work guys...thanks for nothing. _________________________________________ -There's always free cheese in a mouse trap.
  21. I wish I had a link for you, but I heard it with my own ears on Fox News. Aside from the revelation, I was suprised because I thought GJ testimony was supposed to be secret. Maybe it was just a deposition and they called it GJ testimony. The point of the story, as I recall, was that Cheney could not be charged with any criminal act because he had been given the authority by Bush to order the declassification of information...then he ordered Libby to release the info on Plame. _________________________________________ -There's always free cheese in a mouse trap.
  22. The evidence is in the form of the grand jury testimony Libby and others. Yes, Armitage outed her as well as Rove and Libbby, at the direction of Cheney. _________________________________________ -There's always free cheese in a mouse trap.
  23. Excellent point...so much for protecting our sources and methods. _________________________________________ -There's always free cheese in a mouse trap.
  24. In Libby's testimony to the Grand Jury he said that Cheney instructed him to give the classified information to the media. Conclude what you wish. This gets into the charge that Cheney was so wrong to "declassify" her status, right? It is within his jurisdiction to declassify information. I think it was quite reasonable, since she wasn't doing anything covert, and she and her husband deserved to have their false allegations refuted. That was not the subject of the trial. Since Bush gave Cheney the authority to order the declassification of data, Fitzgerald could not use that as the basis of a criminal indictment against Cheney, Rove, or Libby. But, for them to do it for political gain is clearly wrong and flies in the face of several executive orders relative to the handling of classified information. Bush/Cheney could have had them (Plame/Wilson) investigated if they thought there was some sort of impropriety going on, instead...they ruined her career. _________________________________________ -There's always free cheese in a mouse trap.
