  10. If you have the right soil and climate, I would suggest planting Hazelnut saplings laced with the Perigord Truffle spore. In about 5 years, you can potentially start harvesting and selling the truffles for $1,000/lb. _________________________________________ -There's always free cheese in a mouse trap.

  12. While I think the Bush administration was comprised of a bunch of thugs, they were not the ones responsible for the lack of response that resulted in loss of life. It was not and is not the responsibility of the federal government to bail/put/dig us out. The Governor of LA had to sole responsibility to rapidly deploy the National Guard. If anyone, *she* is the one with blood on her hands. _________________________________________ -There's always free cheese in a mouse trap.
  13. It would have been a safe assumption; and while the reasons for it are complicated, there is no excuse for it. I've lived in the Southeast for the last 30 years, been to 38 states, and visited every major city in the country. Here is the truth: The people in the Southeast, on average are far more racist than any other region in the country. If you live here and don't believe this to be true, you have not traveled much. Ultimately though, this is home and I like it here. _________________________________________ -There's always free cheese in a mouse trap.
  14. Yes, unfortunately. It is very strange that otherwise good and decent people think that racism is ok. I have friends who are racists. All you can really do is set a good example and offer an educated or enlightened opinion when you get the opportunity. _________________________________________ -There's always free cheese in a mouse trap.

  16. Neither should have any sway, seriously. They are messing up how a representative democracy is supposed to work. Mr Smith Goes to Washington is not fiction. _________________________________________ -There's always free cheese in a mouse trap.
  17. No, that is called politics; confusing and/or integrating the two is, IMO, the #2 thing wrong with our government/political process(two-party stranglehold is #1). Unless lobbyists have no more access to or influence over anyone in government than the man on the street does, I have a huge problem with them. They wield immense power because their clients provide the PAC money that gets politicians elected....that is the problem. If it were simply a matter of calling up a subject matter expert to gain a better understanding of a particular subject, that would be fine. That is not the case with lobbyists. They are simply hired guns who write legislation, get laws passed, get contracts awarded, and generally stink the place up. Money + party influence = political corruption, always has. _________________________________________ -There's always free cheese in a mouse trap.
  18. Personally I think it is THE greatest movie of all time. I know that's at odds with some who give that honor to Citizen Cane, but I think Casablanca is much more watchable time and time again. Agree completely, Citizen Kane is an important movie, I just don't like watching it all that much...I feel the same way about Lawrence of Arabia, much rather watch Casablanca _________________________________________ -There's always free cheese in a mouse trap.
  19. Casablanca is definitely in the top 10, but for that era my pick is On the Waterfront. Many critics believe it to be the best movie ever made. It's the classic good vs evil movie and my favorite by far. _________________________________________ -There's always free cheese in a mouse trap.
  20. Hogwash. Guys don't read fashion mags, women do...along with the glamor mags, tabloids, etc., and that is the target market the advertisers are aiming at and hiring for. So if you want to identify the root cause of the widening BMI gap between fashion models and average woman, you need only look in the mirror. Pssst...how many models end up being on TV or movies.. and magazines... A very small minority I suppose. On this topic you are simply wrong,.. guys don't want to jack off looking at a clothes hanger any more than women want to rub one out looking at a sumo wrestler. If a woman has a poor body image because she feels she can't compete with media images of fashion models, she needs to get some help...and maybe pass on the Krispy Kreme's :) Uh.. want to go check how many actresses started out on the runway????? Don't care to check 'cause that does not make them any more attractive than if they started out as a waitress, singer, or truck driver. Seriously, Kate and Twiggy were caricatures at best and if women compare themselves to that, then that's on them. Now, if women really want to look like a caricature...think Jessica Rabbit! _________________________________________ -There's always free cheese in a mouse trap.

  23. +1 I'm not sure if I understand your point or not, but if your contention is that men prefer a boyish, runway body like Kate Moss to a womanish, swimsuit body like Heidi Klum, you cannot be more mistaken. I don't know of a single dude who would prefer the former to the latter. Seriously, not one. nonsense, In Amazon world, Heidi Klum has an anorexic boy body - Beatrice Arthur - now that's what she wants us to call a WOMAN Guys … I understand what you’re trying to say. Heidi Klum, however, may not be the best model (case) to put forward. /Marg Sure it is, especially to debunk a misplaced contention that men prefer women who look like young boys. All I know is she looks pretty good to most of us guys. In fact, I recon just about everybody would consider any swimsuit/victoria's secret model more attractive than a Kate Moss type. ymmv _________________________________________ -There's always free cheese in a mouse trap.
  24. What? Seems to me that the models that are ultra skinny are the ones doing women's fashion/runway type stuff. The audience for that type of model is women! The female models for the male audience most definitely do not resemble a young boy - not at all. +1 Gee you guys certainly don't pay attention to most of the models and actresses out there All you need to look at is the responses to the "Who do you think is Hot" threads in the Bonfire... The responses... are instructive. I'm not sure if I understand your point or not, but if your contention is that men prefer a boyish, runway body like Kate Moss to a womanish, swimsuit body like Heidi Klum, you cannot be more mistaken.
