  3. Thanks to everyone for the input. That said I finally had the opportunity to jump the Pilot 188 this weekend. Its the nicest opening canopy I have tried. Slow and soft even better than the 2 spectres I demoed. However the flare on the Sabre 2 felt far more responsive than the Pilot. As some have commented the Pilot seems to have a flare that is much lower in the stroke than a Sabre 2. For me that will not work. At first I thought the break lines were too long (which our master rigger said was the case.) But even shortening them( by wrapping them in my hand) didn't produce the same pressure that the Sabre 2 seemed to have at the top end. Blues Jim
  4. Other than price can anyone please comment on the pro's and con's of the Icon vs. the Mirage G4. (also whats expected delivery time for both?) Blues Jim
  5. I was told that Aerodyne would possibly be having a year end sale in dec to reduce their stock (the tax man commeth). So if your looking at there equipment hang on for a couple more weeks. Blues Jim
  6. havent demoed the pilot yet but love the sabre 2 compared to anything else ive jumped. I'm have some trouble getting a pilot to demo. (nick from aerodyne was great at getting me a triathlon out but hasn't got back to me on the pilot. I know they'll be out at the holiday boogie but I'd like to get something before I go on vacation (San Diego, Vegas Baby!, and Eloy). Blues Jim
  7. I've been demoing canopies for about 2 months now and have settled in on either a Sabre2 190 or a Pilot 188. I'm looking for input from anyone who has flown both before making a final decision. Blues Jim
  8. Just got a demo canopy in and it came with a collapsible pilot chute. Having not used one before I'm looking for info on how to tell if its ready to jump. Specifically; How to cock it , how to test it etc. Thanks in advance for you input Blue ones Jim

  11. Jumped there about 2 years back. Tandem. wasn't exactly a first class experience. But the view made it all worth it. If your a Tourist... go for it. If your a sky diver I'd pass. Blue ones Jim

  13. I'm headed out to port canaveral florida on the 16th for 2 weeks (woo hoo), and I'm looking for a RW friendly drop zone within an hours driving time. Blue Ones Jimbo
  14. I absolutely love my Dolphin. I've put just over 100 jumps on it now and have had nothing but comfortable rides on it. I keep hearing thats its not freefly friendly but no one can give me a reason why. If it wasn't for the dolphin's reasonable pricing i'd still be jumping student gear and have 1/3 the jumps I have now. And yea my next rig will be another dolphin as well. Blue ones Jim
  15. I've recently heard that there may be a dropzone in Santa Fe, NM. If you have any information about this it would be greatlly appreciated. Blue Ones, Jim

  18. Now that you've had all this great advice may I point out. "first time using audible" First time on a Spectre, First time with a 1000 ft snivel. Thats BEER, BEER, BEER! Blue ones Jim
  19. I had the same problem coming off student status. With some help from your coaches you should be able to adjust your body position and become more comfortable in the air. They can teach you how to adjust your fall rate, just be patient. Like anything else it takes practice to improve. A good suit helped me as well, but the coaching has mad all the difference. That and getting as many jumps in as possible. Blue ones Jim
  20. If there not clearing on the way up....Get out low! Blue ones Jim
  21. Used to get them all the time on the student gear. Haven't had one since getting my new gear. Nothing fancy just a dolphin made to fit me. Sooooo much more comfy..... Blue ones Jim
  22. Can you please put up a sticky for sebastians website thanks blue ones Jim
  23. Was wondering if a braked turn would of been more appropriate at that altitude. The combination of the turbulance and letting the right toggle all the way back up seemed to exaserbate the problem. Would someone more experienced please comment on this. (good learning video, thanks for posting steph) Blue ones Jim
