  1. hey Amazon, what are the days and hours of operations up there? Is there a phone number yet? Cindy Life on earth may be expensive, but it includes a free trip around the sun!
  2. No, FREEFLY is the dark side! I must not be completely ready, since I haven't put in my rush order for the wingsuit yet. I'm thinking about it. I need to sit and chat with Jim a bit. While Dave is not encouraging the behavior, he has let me know that its okay with him if I spend the money. I'm hoping to hear back about the fit issues. It would be fun to take to Eloy for the Holiday Boogie... Oh hey Tony, I have a Free Fly suit in pieces on my sewing table just waiting for the rainy season when I start sewing again, that's why its not on my list. If Karen has her way I will try free flying next...YICKS that's scarier than the wingsuit! Look out below, or should I say above? 3. A BIG THANKS to Jim for providing the opportunity! I still can't believe that I got out over the high school and opened south of the airport. Weird! While I was pretty undecided about it all and made only the one flight on Friday, I'm thinking about it. There may be a new purple bird over Snohomish this winter (that Prodigy suit is definitely not for warm weather wear!). I am corresponding with Morpheus Tech about some of the fit issues I had. So we'll see... A new RW suit or a new Wing suit...hum... Cindy Cindy Life on earth may be expensive, but it includes a free trip around the sun!
  4. Actually I did the tie dye for it! I dyed a lot of cordura to get enough that matched well enough to be put on one rig. I'm going to have to work on that, as soon as I have time. I really wanted a marbled dye, but I all I could find was instructions for using fabric paint with chemicals that are bad for fabric. Not the best thing for a rig. But I'm going to work on that also becasue I still really want a marbled look! You should have seen the attempt with a shaving cream base. The house smelled pretty good. hahaha! The new rig is not going to Arizona. Lots of reasons but mostly because I jumped a 210 Triathlon for over a year. Now I have about a dozen jumps on Eugene's 190 Hornet and want to jump that thru the winter before downsizing to the 168 Pilot that I have on order to be put in my new rig. Probably the most winning arguement for not taking the new rig to Arizona is that the new canopies are not here and my 218 reserve will just not fit in the new rig! That will keep me to my original plan to wait til after Arizona..because if those canopies were here I must say I would be tempted... We can still jump together in Arizona, but my old rig is just not going to look as good in the video! Cindy See ya! Cindy Life on earth may be expensive, but it includes a free trip around the sun!
  5. Sorry! How do I get the pics to attach?? Can someone explain that?? aaarrrgg!! Cindy Cindy Life on earth may be expensive, but it includes a free trip around the sun!
  6. Okay, it looks a little funky without a canopy in it, but here it is!! I can't believe how great it looks!!! Cindy Cindy Life on earth may be expensive, but it includes a free trip around the sun!
  7. Bring it? I'll probably be wearing it!!!
  8. It's ready! My new rig is ready! They are shipping it to me today and that means I will have it tomorrow!
  9. Hey Kev, Your new rig is great! What a beauty! Post some pictures of that baby! I'm getting anxious for mine and I just ordered it Saturday. But I promised myself that I wouldn't jump it til after I get back from the Dropzone.com boogie in December (January actually!). I really want to get in a lot of jumps on the 190 before I change to the 168. I know its the safest thing to do, but once I have my new rig and canopies, it will be difficult to wait! BooHoo! maybe I better not have it all assembled so I don't get tempted... Cindy Cindy Life on earth may be expensive, but it includes a free trip around the sun!
  10. Hey, that sounds like fun. Most likely the weather on the west side of these mountains will be too wet to jump. Guess its about time to come on over to the dryer side and meet some of the other Washington jumpers! Any idea how long it takes to get there from Snohomish on a Friday evening? 11. Any idea which Bernina? Is it possible that they don't make that model anymore? I was just in to a dealer this week and they told me about a "semi-industrial" machine that Bernina makes, model # 950. It does not have removable cams, and it does have a number of "decorative" stitches that turned me off. Unfortunately they didn't have a demo, so I can't try it out. I asked about E thread and the manager of the store looked at me like I had antennas growing from the top of my head. They said that if I could get a thread sample, they know someone who owns one and they could get the thread to that person who would try it out. Doesn't make me too anxious to buy one from these people! Anyway, just curious if you knew which model you had. Cindy Cindy Life on earth may be expensive, but it includes a free trip around the sun!
  12. Thanks for the advice! I emailed L&B and within a short time had a reply back that I should send them the unit and they will replace it with a new model for no charge! WOW! What great customer service! I love those guys! Cindy Cindy Life on earth may be expensive, but it includes a free trip around the sun!
  13. I have an older Pro Dytter that is EATING batteries. I started putting it in my log book when I replace them. On March 23rd, 2004 I put in a new set. On June 20th, I hear the low battery warning sound in the plane. I jumped it once more that day and did not hear the low battery signal the 2nd time and it worked as expected on the jump. But I changed the batteries when I got home. I made about 20 jumps between those two dates. Last night, July 21st, I hear the low battery warning again! I made about 19 or so jumps between June 20th and yesterday. I threw a new set of batteries and the screwdriver into my gear bag, just in case, but I plan on jumping it again and seeing if it STILL thinks it's batteries are low. What are the chances that I recieved bad batteries twice in a row? I looked through the manual and could not find anything about turning the unit off between trips to the DZ. It was my hubby's until I bought him his Pro-Track for Christmas in 2002. Not sure how long he jumped with it, but I think he bought it from a friend who jumped it awhile. Should I toss it out and ask for a Pro-Track for my birthday next month? Anyone else have this happen with older Pro Dytters? 14. Wee little arms? That's the first time anyone has said I have wee little arms. Thanks! hahahaha My problem is leg malfunction. They get close to the ground and behave in the oddest ways. I CAN land standing up, I've done it, in front of witnesses even. Oh well, I'll keep trying! Cindy Cindy Life on earth may be expensive, but it includes a free trip around the sun!
  15. Jaye, After reading this thread, I think you and I could be a comedy team with our landings! But it's not too funny if we get hurt. Why is it we have never jumped together? I signed up for canopy control and landings for Gonna Be day also. I thought I had it figured out, then on the last 5 jumps I have blown it. Well, my last jump yesterday I tried to slide in on my knees because Tom was filming it, so maybe that doesn't count. Yeah, the tall grass in the east field at the moment doesn't help anything except slides and trips! Hope they mow it before June 5th. Hope taping your thumb helps! 16. Yeah, I think us A and B licenced jumpers are getting the short end of things. Just like the accuracy meet, the sunset load last night left us out of it. If you wanted to do the cross country, you had to have a C or D to do it because they planned it to land at the airport. Let's plan some cool things at the east field for once! 17. Congrats again! That's beer you know. What's next? RW? Head down? Cindy Cindy Life on earth may be expensive, but it includes a free trip around the sun!
  18. We just traveled from Seattle to Phoenix and back over the Christmas holiday with no problems. We carried our rigs on, didn't check them. The security person that x-rayed them asked if they were parachutes. duh! Another one standing by asked if we had CO2 charges in them. We saud no and they lets us continue on. CO2 charges? What's that about? Its the second time we have been asked that by airport security in Phoenix. Does the Cypress use a CO2 charge?? Over Thanksgiving they decided to check my hubbie's rig for explosive residue (didn't find any) because they recognized by the x-ray that he had an AAD. My rig does also, but they didn't notice it. I don't even think they noticed that I HAD a rig in my bag. After not finding any explosive residue, they let us carry them on through. They kept asking us what fired off the AAD and we played innocent. So actually we had a harder time with airport security over Thanksgiving than we did over Christmas when it was an Orange Alert. Go figure! Cindy Life on earth may be expensive, but it includes a free trip around the sun!
  19. We always stay at the Best Western in Casa Grande. Its not too outrageously priced. The phone number is on Skydive Arizona's webpage. They are about 12 miles away, so you'll need a car rental. If you call for a price, ask if that's the best they can do. They always come down in price when I do that. Go figure! 20. Greetings, I have about 75 jumps now and am still having lots of trouble with my landings. I am very inconsistent about when to flare and it has caused some very hard landings. Most of the time I don't even attempt to stand them up. My husband says that my best landings are just controlled crashes. I also cannot at all see that "spot on the ground that does not move". Is it my bifocals? Should I get glasses without bifocals for jumping? Anyone else have this problem????
