  1. Well, the weather was not very cooperative this weekend, however it wasn't a total wash... Got a few people ground trained and managed to get one first flight up. Cory from Kapow flew the Phantom on his first wingsuit jump and totally nailed it. I'll try for another FFC weekend sometime in August... JIM
  2. Come on out NW flyers and lets put together some quality flocks! Skydive Snohomish 16 and 17 June. Thanks to Seattle Skydivers and Skydive Snohomish, PF demos are available free of charge. I will be doing first flight courses for all those interested that meet the 200 jump minimum.
  3. Here's just a few. Flying with a 60 knot tailwind, directly over the city of Snohomish. Ground speed measured by GPS at just over 150 mph. (in a Gti) That's one city block every 2.5 seconds...I remember counting the blocks and laughing... Flying in the rain (not a sprinkle, a downpour) Doesn't sting a bit. Max out the glide, keep the head down and the rain hits the top of the helmet. Flying when it's snowing The first WS balloon jump I did. Last one off, dead quiet, the sun rising behind Mt. Hood... Flying at night. Reminds me of that old movie The Lost Boys...you really feel like a Vampire! Flying next to a cloud, having a two way flock with your own shadow. Probably the most scenic flight I can remember was a two way with Paul B. a long time ago. It was late in the day, scattered puffy white/grey clouds dumping rain, three different rainbows and a crescent moon against the blue sky. The contrasting colors and crystal clear visibility was hard to believe. Exiting at 4K, dumping at 2.5...35 seconds later. Life is good
  4. Hey Ed, That's probably what it would take for me to get there! I'm sure it will be a blast!
  5. Much to my surprise I also received a demo Acro, Phantom, and V1 in addition to the Prodigy's and Track suits! Thanks Rob and Kathy at Morpheus! You guys ROCK!
  6. Reminder... It's this coming weekend...come on out and fly!
  7. Suit rental fee for the Seattle weekend is being covered by the Seattle Skydivers Club! I can certainly arrange that!
  8. Demo track suits and Prodigy's. No demo Phantoms I will be doing FFC's with the Prodigy for anyone interested. (Please PM me if you are) Thanks, and rock on. JIM
  9. Rock on, Ed! I would love to come but have not the cash... Hope to see you at SDO again later in the year? Congrats on the 400 way. JIM
  10. If the weather conditions are good, how many jumps in a day could one expect to make at the Heliboogie? How about number of jumps if only hiking / jumping at Smellveggen? I'd like to maximize the number of jumps when I go there this summer and get the most for the travel expense. Right now I'm thinking about 10 days there, with the Heliboogie in the middle of the visit. Is the weather much better in July, August? thanks, Jim
  11. Dave- Yep, I'll be out Friday and Saturday- weather permitting. Don't lie about the orgy Paul..you were there man! No girls unfortunately. ..umm... err..uh.... Perhaps I used the wrong word to describe the situation... I should go now.
  12. With 1 wingsuit and 3 other non wingsuit jumpers, it is easiest to put the wingsuit behind the pilot seat. We've had a 4 wingsuit orgy in a 182 before with no problem. Jim
  13. It's been a while since this event, but there is video uploaded at skydiving movies if anyone wants to check it out. http://www.skydivingmovies.com/ver2/pafiledb.php?action=file&id=2739 If anyone from the event wants it on DVD, PM me your address.
  14. Any estimates on headcount yet? Looks like there will be 4 or 5 from the Seattle flock coming down. JIM
  15. Congrats to Cindy, Steve, Charlie, Jeff and Dave for their first flights on the Prodigy. Experienced flyer turn out was disappointing, but I'm looking forward to some bigger flocks at SDO in a couple of weeks.
