  1. How so sure? Because of the timing, the condition of the money, and the conditions at the money site. BTW Jo has never said it was money or identified the contents of the bag, just some article. She has always left others to provide the word "money" . Jo always waits until the subject of money comes up then she brings her story up (over and over) and lets the buyer connect dots from their mind. If Spring came up Jo would bring up lilacs on the Columbia and lilacs on 305, and Duane's favorite flower and scent - lilacs! Thats how it works. Jo never specifically says anything other than Duane was DB Cooper. Its an old sales (snake oil) tactic. Jo is nos feratu. Its always illusions in mirrors ... that allows the motivated buyer to follow the trail Jo has laid. (Its called horse trading and people used to get hung for this sort of thing!) And to be accurate Jo has specified three separate sites/opportunities where Duane went 'down to the river to pray'.... not just the I5 bridge near Apple Park. But the facts of the money preclude anything like what Jo suggests happening, especially when she said these 'meditations and big tossing at the river;' happened. Keep in mind Jo is not a technical person. She has to wait until technical facts surface and then she bends to accommodate those - as best she understands them! Jo knows nothing about the technical facts of the money (and neither does anyone else except the panel), so Jo is biding her time waiting. If I told her the money was radioactive she would then claim Duane was involved in nuclear materials trading - Jo follows the dog's tail wherever it leads - she's like a memory bank. If the dog goes nowhere, Jo goes nowhere. That is an established fact here at Dropzone. In other words, its all bullshit. Georger Why do you have to constantly refer to what Jo said? If you really believe her posts are 'bullshit' you'd do better to ignore them as your rants just tend to draw attention to them. (maybe you're part of the conspiracy and you want to draw attention to Jo's posts) I asked why Jerry was so sure the money hadn't made it's way down the river and before giving him the chance to answer you float up answering for him then having another rant about what Jo said. It's all getting very childish with the main characters posting here spitting the dummy (pacifier?) like spoiled kids when someone has an opinion which differs from theirs. The thread did hold some intrest for me to begin with but I think it's run its course and I'd be happy to see it killed off. I'm not usually in favour of censoring forums but this doesn't need censored - It needs put out of it's misery. Cabbage Oh. its personality you want. Got it. Rather than killing the tread why not kill yourself!? Until just now weve never seen your posts before. You are brand new, where have you been, up there in Olympus? Will the Yanks win this year? We have lots of experts here. Its just a matter of which one you like. That's fine. May I recommend the 34B plan? It comes with guaranteed over night in Detroit. From the safety of your bullet proof window you can view the collapse of American at your leisure. Only $499 per night. Carry on - I wont intrude further. Fuck me. I think I may have touched a nerve there Another typical Georger ranting response to criticism including an invitation to kill myself closely followed by an invite to engage in sexual relations with you! - And all in the one post! 3. How so sure? Unless where the money was found is upstream from the bridge your statement is just your opinion and no more or less valid than anyone else's opinion. Regards, Cabbage ------------------------------------------------ We're a' just machines for makin' shite.
  4. Yip! DICK, true enough - no links to wikipedia required for confirmation. Hm. Is this a claim to half a brain? evidence? This link may suit your needs/interests more than this forum http://www.erectiledysfunctionforum.co.uk/ Good luck - Have fun! P.S I don't think anyone will question your anonymity on that forum so no worries there. No need reply to to thank me - just happy to point you in the right direction. ------------------------------------------------ We're a' just machines for makin' shite.

  6. HAHAHAHAHA!!!!!! I am not sure what you think you are going to find in Farmington NM, but it may very well be a big surprise!!!!!!! But, it could be worse, you could be going to Shiprock!!!!!!!! Go to Mesa Verde, lots of cool things to see there if you are into history. I've got a good idea what to expect in Farmington NM and knew there wouldn't be a DZ on the doorstep but was hoping there might be one within an hour or so driving. Thanks for the replies, Cabbage ------------------------------------------------ We're a' just machines for makin' shite.
  7. Thanks DSE, Looks like it's not worth bringing my rig unless I can dodge what I'm supposed to be doing for a few days. Any chance you could move this to the "places to jump" forum incase someone else has any ideas? Thanks again. Cabbage ------------------------------------------------ We're a' just machines for makin' shite.
  8. I might be in Farmington New Mexico for a few weeks soon and was wondering if it's worth bringing my rig with me. I'm coming all the way from Scotland so don't want to be dragging my rig over if there's no DZ's nearby. Thanks, Cabbage ------------------------------------------------ We're a' just machines for makin' shite.
  9. War was declaired in 1939. The USA just joined late. By mid 1941 it was obvious the USA would join in, and by that time it was obvious what side. Although earlier in the war it looked like the USA could go either way. Cabbage ------------------------------------------------ We're a' just machines for makin' shite.
  10. flybounce, So the last part was sarcasm? The first part was incomprehensible! Be contented that you've proved a point. Maybe not the point you set out to prove but you've proved a point none the less. Cabbage ------------------------------------------------ We're a' just machines for makin' shite.
  11. Well........the quote above is very telling and settles this. Shes not looking for the truth....as Ive said before, she has her truth and no one here will change that. Why so negative? Whether Webber was or wasn't Cooper doesn't matter to most of us but the thread did make interesting reading until recently the comments became destructive and argumentative. You're comming across as a bully and spoiler for no apparent reason other than to piss on someone elses parade. Why? Educate me if this isn't the case. ------------------------------------------------ We're a' just machines for makin' shite.
  12. My Son jumps a Triathalon 190 in a J3. I've also jumped it and packed it without any problems. My son has a bit of a problem getting it in the bag but some of that might be lack of practice or more likely just him conning me into packing it for him. ------------------------------------------------ We're a' just machines for makin' shite.

  14. I've seen them and read them on my own canopies and many others when I was a packer but always took them to be more to cover the manufacturers in the event of someone screwing up and trying to take legal action. I don't think a label on the tail of a canopy will or could ever replace good training and awareness of the sport. If anything on any of the labels I read was a surprise to me I'd question my training and understanding of the sport. ------------------------------------------------ We're a' just machines for makin' shite.
  15. Riggerrob, I may have missunderstood your post but there's no requirement for a flight line check to be done by the CCI in the UK. As long as the person checking has the relevant licence and has been cleared for flight line checks it's a Buddy Check. I think the system has a few advantages not just the obvious one. It encourages new jumpers to learn about their gear and promotes an attitude where we look after one another. I'm not always in favour of BPA directives but I like this one. ------------------------------------------------ We're a' just machines for makin' shite.
  16. I've got a load of tattoos many of which are a lot of fairly small reminders of things and people in my life made into a growing design. Unless we've had a shared experience you'd be lucky to guess what most of them symbolise so when I decided I was hooked on skydiving I chose to get a closing pin hidden in the design. Skydivers notice it but no one else does which was my intention. ------------------------------------------------ We're a' just machines for makin' shite.

  18. How much money someone would risk on a fictional lottery etc has nothing what so ever to do with recommending a canopy to someone. Neither should Gender, Height etc be a high priority. Experience, discipline and many other factors are MUCH more important. Among the highest financial risk takers I've met have been Asian.Chinese in particular are the biggest gamblers I know, and not meaning any disrespect they are not generally the tallest people. Going by your rule of thumb what canopy do you recommend to a 5 foot 4 inch Chinese man with a fondness for betting on horses? Driving healthcare sports etc have little or no relevance either. So under 20's in Germany are the least likely to be involved in a road traffic accident!?! Well I can tell you here in Scotland under 20's are among the highest at risk. So by your reasoning you'd recommend different canopies to a young German and a young Scot based on driving statistics? In my opinion this report has nothing whatsoever to do with the "Safety and Training" forum. I fail to see why Nathaniel you think it does. A word of advice to anyone like me who's tempted to read this thinking it was relevant to Skydiving. Don't bother! Cabbage ------------------------------------------------ We're a' just machines for makin' shite.
  19. Fascinating! Not for me. It's mostly about Economic/financial risk taking and in my opinion does little to address racial regional ethnic and many other differences. It has no relevance to skydiving and it bored me shitless. Just my opinion but maybe it'll prevent someone else wasting time reading it. ------------------------------------------------ We're a' just machines for makin' shite.
  20. A big pair of girls knickers that used to hang as a wind sock. We tried to sniff them then pass them on in freefall. "Pass the pants" I want to take up some Jelly (Jello) and try to eat it in freefall. Not had a chance to try it yet though. ------------------------------------------------ We're a' just machines for makin' shite.
  21. From the BPA website it looks like Brian Vacher has 2 courses in the UK in August 9 - 12 Aug Cark and 13-14 UK Parachuting. Having done one of Brians courses last weekend I can personally highly recomend them. Never had so much fun under canopy without doing CReW, and the SAFE in the schools name does not imply boring. ------------------------------------------------ We're a' just machines for makin' shite.
  22. Hello, I've a fair few jumps on an original Sabre 170 loaded at about 1.4 standard slider and good trim. I'm not a rigger and by no stretch of the imagination would I consider myself an expert so don't take this as advice just my observations. I always pack for myself so have tried a few different techniques of packing until I'm nw happy with the consistent openings. I've found the openings I'm happiest with come from packing in accordance with the manual but I pay particular attention to making sure the slider quartered and is biased toward the front. I've also found how tight I roll the tail (not how many rolls more how tight the rolls are) makes a difference more than how I roll the nose. I've had one opening that hurt and I put that down to using different bungys from usual. I was jumping back to back loads and had none of the small microline bungys at hand so used some I normally use on student kit. I didn't dump in a track but on opening my feet swung forward to about head height my chin slammed into my chest and I was a wee bit dazed and sore. I'm not sure, and would welcome comment here but I put it down to the line stows not slowing the deployment sequence and thus allowing line stretch and initial canopy deployment while I was still fully belly to earth. I've never used other bungys again on my rig and I've never had another opening like it. I like the canopy and although I've heard plenty of horror stories I'm happy to stick with it but as with most things in life it's horses for courses. Regards, Stay safe, Cabbage.
  23. My perspective is that as someone who knew Alastair well, I'm pissed off with the media and people like you presuming to know what he was like, what his motives were and what his friends and family are thinking. Like it or not your comments are just the type of thing the media may take more than a passing interest in. As I said - Let him rest. ------------------------------------------------ We're a' just machines for makin' shite.
  24. obelixtim, If you really feel for the people left behind as you state. Why can't you keep your judgmental shite off of this forum. Your comments contribute nothing of value to the incidents forum. You didn't know Alastair, you know nothing of him other than what you've heard from unreliable sources. Alastair was one of the good guys! He'll be missed. He was always there to help anyone. He chose his way to go when he felt ready. Let him rest now. ------------------------------------------------ We're a' just machines for makin' shite.
