The SA Nationals are happening now at Skydive Rustenburg www.skydiverustenburg.co.za Scores are available here http://www.nspace.co.za/intime/InTimeMeets.aspx?IT=1 --------------------------------- www.skydiverustenburg.co.za www.skydiveqatar.com

There's a few reasons why we use a tandem to compliment whats possible with a helicopter - the first is that its extremely newsworthy. Anti-poaching skydiving dogs here in SA create many opportunities and publicity for funding. Just delivering them by helicopter not so much... - helicopters are noisy, expensive to operate and have a limited range and support in some of the areas so the idea is to use fixed wing aircraft which are available almost everywhere and at a much reduced rate. Ultimately the intention is to train specialised K9 handlers to skydive with their own dog and remove the tandem part - it does indeed keep the dogs (and us) happy as we get to skydive more & in interesting places and situations :) --------------------------------- www.skydiverustenburg.co.za www.skydiveqatar.com

Large triangle sewn on tail of Chute Shop canopy - why?
aerialfx replied to BrianM's topic in Gear and Rigging
Yes it was for marketing purposes before ChuteShop became Parachute Systems so that the canopy could be identified once open - the old ZPs had an equal sided triangle , the Bladerunner had a long narrow triangle and the early Hurricanes had 2 small triangles. When ChuteShop became Parachute Systems the shapes were done away with --------------------------------- www.skydiverustenburg.co.za www.skydiveqatar.com -

I have 5 YAK jumps - 3 flat and 2 inverted, both inverted were from a barrell roll and not a loop. I found it really easy to get out onto the wing from the rear seat for the flat exits although you obviously need to have the pilot slow the plane down quite a bit and raise the elevator (put the nose down). From standing / crouching on the wing just roll over the flap area towards the back corner of the wing and dont jump up as its not so far to the rear elevator - if you do f*ck it up from this position you will hit your foot and not your head with this exit... Watch out for your pins and handles on climbout and check the length of your closure loop. There is plenty of place to stand on the wing and lots of handholds on the front and rear canopies - the rear steering column presses against your gut on takeoff when in the rear with your rig on so if you 'large' you may not fit - I think the rear control can be removed ? I have tons of experience on all sorts of inverted exits from Pitts and others so the barrell roll exit where you must leave at the right time is a piece of cake. However I would not allow you to come anywhere near strange exits / inverted etc on any of my demos till you had way more experience and showed me that you were OK with doing some basic aeros and seeing the picture from inside the aircraft without jumping. However whatever, have fun and try not to kill yourself or anyone else and whatever happens make sure you get it on film... ;) --------------------------------- www.skydiverustenburg.co.za www.skydiveqatar.com

Who has jumped at the Most dropzones
aerialfx replied to hcsvader's topic in Skydiving History & Trivia
Also without too much time looking @ Logbooks I have about 1500 demos since early 1990's and average @ least 1/2 of those @ new places each year - real dropzones around 50 in 15 countries on 5 continents. Bandid jumps - well that could get me in trouble... ;) so I would guess getting up to the 1000 or so The planet is your dropzone LOL --------------------------------- www.skydiverustenburg.co.za www.skydiveqatar.com -
