  1. No way! I do care what people may say and gravity is no longer my friend Next Mood Swing: 6 minutes
  2. I'd like to say 'well done' to anyone who's posted their boobies. Seems that all boobies are good boobies, besides, I'm a woman, who am I to judge? Big kudos! Next Mood Swing: 6 minutes
  3. I can't emphasise too much how useful a contract is. I think it's possible to pick a standard one up from WH Smith in the UK, so you must be able to get a something similar in the US. The Internet, maybe? Also, get a deposit - not only for unpaid rent, but for damages. Make sure you have decent household insurance too, just incase she does have a beserk episode! 4. Ah that brings back some happy memories.... When I was about 13/14 we lived next to an estate on which were four shooting syndicates. Pheasants were bred at the top of the estate and driven through come the season. Soooo, deciding I needed a few quid, I used to nip up to the pens, just before the season started, in the dead of night, wring a few necks and sell a couple of brace for a few quid. The buyers loved them - nice young birds, no shot... God forgive me! Next Mood Swing: 6 minutes
  5. I seem to remember that being a safety issue and there being talk of introducing an artificial noise because of it? Next Mood Swing: 6 minutes

    Aspartame

That's exactly how I feel! Seems that its just common sense (I haven't had much of that...) to avoid anything that is processed or has additives. I'm cutting back on meat too, mainly because unless one goes for completely organic and free range, which is expensive, it's very difficult to tell if one's eating a load of chemicals along with the meat, never mind the farming and butchering process... If nothing else, it's testing my imagination when it comes to cooking! Next Mood Swing: 6 minutes

    Aspartame

Thanks John. How about using honey in your tea? Um, is it common knowledge about Aspartame in the States? No one here (England) really seems to know much about it.... I feel a campaign coming on! Next Mood Swing: 6 minutes

    Aspartame

Yeppers, I've never drunk sodas and I'm avoiding anything that isn't plant based, so milk is out - but chocolate is in! Hurrah! Seriously, it's kinda frightening what's approved by the powers that're meant to be looking out for us.... Next Mood Swing: 6 minutes

    Aspartame

Hey, do you guys know about the controversy surrounding Aspartame? What d'you think about it? Is it true? I'm going through a pretty radical life style change. Part of this is eating healthily which, for me, means avoiding additives and as much processed foods as possible, so I'll be avoiding Aspartame anyway, but I'm interested to know what other people think of the product and if they avoid it or not. Couple of sites against the product:- sweetpoison.com mercola.com Next Mood Swing: 6 minutes

  12. Ha! No, merely unexpected from an American. Next Mood Swing: 6 minutes
  13. Err, I don't think I was condoning the English past. Or, for that matter, was I asking for such a bitchy reply. But that kind of response is pretty much typical for an American it would seem. Next Mood Swing: 6 minutes
  14. Dude, seriously? We weren't fighting against the Falkland Islands, we were fighting against Argentina. Argentina were the ones who invaded the Falkland Islands - our soil, our people! Andy, the Falkland Islanders are British and want to remain that way, under British rule, just as they did in 1982. The Falklands have been settled by the British, the French and the Spanish all before Argentina got hold of them in the early 1800s. And then Argentina only had them for about 10 years (IIRC), before relinquishing them back to us. In other words, the Falklanders haven't wanted to be independent or ruled by Argentina, in living memory. And then some. So, to compare the Falklands to India is a little misleading, don't you think?

    Ooops!

I was thinking of Juan Carlos de Menezes.... but lets not get this moved to SC. I think the crowd over there may have a hard time handling an English policeman's 'tail pipe' Next Mood Swing: 6 minutes

  21. Correction - smoking is a disgusting addiction. Well said. I used Allen Carr's Easy Way, too and have been stopped now for nearly two months. The first two days I was nearly crying with panic and fear, but on the third day I knew it was going to be ok. I don't even think about smoking now and I can be around smokers and not want one (infact I feel slightly sick if I smell cigarette smoke). So fantastic news and well done! I'm sure you'll break the addiction really easily too! Edit: Gonzales, well done too. If it gets really hard, I'd recommend Allen Carr's book

    1-800-SkyRide

Just a thought; if DZs that accept Skyride gift certificates are avoided by the regular jumpers, will they will be forced increasingly to rely on Skyride for part of their income? Whether or not that's the case, I would think that one would have more influence on the DZO by actually being at their DZ and speaking to them face to face about concerns. Um, sorry if this is speaking out of turn.
  23. I don't know anything about skydiving, but I know an awful lot about trauma and injuries, not just from personal experience. Firstly, 12 weeks is a very short time to assess what your final prognosis will be. So keep positive and don't get frustrated. Use this time to heal properly without pushing yourself too hard. Your physio, of course, is the best person to ask questions about your progress and advice on how to achieve the maximum gain in the minimum time. I'm not sure I understand all of your post, are you saying your husband has sustained severe head injuries and as a result has had a personality change? If that's the case, again, 12 weeks seems a very short time to know his final outcome. Do you need to despair just yet? I'm sure the medical professionals would be able to advise you on that. I guess what I'm trying to say is; there is no need to feel all down just yet. Give yourself and your husband some time to heal physically, mentally and emotionally, and only then start thinking about jumping again. Meanwhile, stay positive - it helps!

  25. Not in my classes, as a primary source. It is very good for locating primary sources, though. Um, I think we're getting a little too hung up on Wikipedia in this instance. I was merely using it to illustrate a question I had, not prove a point.
