I've been following the posts abot HD with curiosity. I will be in the market for a new video camera this fall/winter. (NOT for skydiving. (yet). All of the HDV cameras from all of the manufacturers are 1080i. My question is, Is there an obvious difference in quality between interlaced and progressive scanning and what are the chances of someone coming out with a 1080P camera in the next 12 months? Doug, I noticed that the FX7 also uses MiniDV tape. I have absolutely no experience with HDVC cameras, so, my question is what is the record time on a standard 60 min MiniDV Tape? Very true. The only way to make space travel more affordable is to make is more risky. At least until the technology gets cheaper. There's still a lot of complexity in the process. NASA estimates a major systems failure on one in every fifty shuttle missions, due the overall complexity. The astronauts are aware of this, and assume the risk. I don't know what redundancy they have, but without redundant systems for life support, it's only a matter of time before a mission fails and people die. I wonder about all the private individuals that will sign up for space flights, and how they will feel about assuming this much risk, in addition to paying that amount of money. Win -XP home is more than sufficient if you don't need to access a Domain Controller on a Network. Home and Pro are the same code base except for advanced networking and Multi processor support. Win 9X is self corrupting. With the type of problems you're having, I would back-up your data and do a clean install. Besides a good and up to date Antivirus solution, run spyware removers. Both my Car and Truck are Automatics. I bought the Trans Am(2002) with an Auto, because that's what was available in the 35th anniversary (not alot of choice), but since I have quite a few friends drive the car it's the best choice anyway. Secondly I don't race the car. With 320hp and 350 lb/ft, the transmission is really secondary to the performance. An I can still drink a coffee around town without learning to juggle while shifting gears. The truck has the Allison 5 speed Auto and is superb for towing (the engine braking is amazing). I towed a 54' rocket from London, ON to L.A. and back and was really impressed. http://hhboard12.free.fr/XPRIZE_APRIL_2004_NEWSLETTER.htm By the way the gas mileage is a red herring, with lock up torque converters, Autos are almost as efficient as sticks, and seeing as most people either over or under rev when they shift, the mileage discrepancy almost washes. If you have insufficient hp or torque, a stick will compensate through additional gearing. If you're racing, ditto. For convenience though Autos are great. I met Burt Rutan at the X-Prize symposium in Long Beach CA on April 16-18, and saw some amazing video of the first two flights of Space Ship 1. I wish Burt and his team well on this test fight.
