  1. What about the legal use of a non-drug substance? http://www.dontsnortit.com/ Gawd, some people will do anything they are told not to. “The only fool bigger than the person who knows it all is the person who argues with him. 2. What a silly post. The creation of oil is not related in any way to the creation of new gold or other metal. Diamonds CAN be created at the temperature and pressure found deep in the Earth (or even in the laboratory). Egads John, Are we actually in agreement?? “The only fool bigger than the person who knows it all is the person who argues with him. 3. oleophobic??? Fear of margarine? Hack wanna be comics. The same kind that find the word "titular" hilarious and think they finally have an "original" joke to tell. They don't. Hey... “The only fool bigger than the person who knows it all is the person who argues with him. Stanislaw Jerzy Lec quotes (Polish writer, poet and satirist 1906-1966)
  4. I'm trying to be nice here. So let's just laugh about it. Some of these folks here have pimples on their asses with more hours in the saddle than you do. OMG, did I just say that out loud? Oops, Twardo just said that, sort of. Nice work on your helmet and surfboard. You do have talent. “The only fool bigger than the person who knows it all is the person who argues with him. 5. There is one mistake in my first reply to you. I thought "Alligator Alley" was all of I-75. I was informed otherwise. “The only fool bigger than the person who knows it all is the person who argues with him. Stanislaw Jerzy Lec quotes (Polish writer, poet and satirist 1906-1966)
  6. Some cut and paste from the website. Yes, I know it's a 99% BS site selling books. My conclusion is that there is much about oil (and natural gas) that we have not been told, including how much of the stuff is available, and how it continually develops, even to this day." At the end of the article is a list of sites and articles on peak oil, but the interesting part is a second list of the contrary view -- could oil reserves be virtually unlimited? (by Sepp Hasslberger, NEC; 2004) Data >In situ Production of Inorganic-Derived Petroleum - Scientists in the US have witnessed the production of methane under the conditions that exist in the Earth's upper mantle for the first time. The experiments demonstrate that hydrocarbons could be formed inside the Earth via simple inorganic reactions -- and not just from the decomposition of living organisms as conventionally assumed -- and might therefore be more plentiful than previously thought. (PhysicsWeb; Sept. 14, 2004) The link, http://physicsworld.com/cws/article/news/20222 Suppose someone claimed that we are NOT running out of petroleum. . . . Or that life on Earth began below the surface, in the dark airless pores of our planet's rocky crust. Or that oil and gas -- so-called "fossil fuels" -- are not the product of biological debris. You might expect to hear statements like these from an author of science fiction. But what if they come from a renowned scientist, someone who has been called "one of the world's most original minds"? In THE DEEP HOT BIOSPHERE, Thomas Gold sets forth truly controversial and astonishing theories: First, he proposes that Earth supports a subterranean organic domain of greater mass and volume than the biosphere -- the total sum of living things -- on its surface. Second, he proposes that the organisms inhabiting this Deep Hot Biosphere are not plants or animals but heat-loving bacteria that survive on a diet of hydrocarbons -- natural gas and petroleum. And third and perhaps most amazingly, he advances the stunning idea that most hydrocarbons on Earth are not "fossil fuels" but part of the primordial "stuff" from which Earth itself was formed some 4.5 billion years ago. The Deep Hot Biosphere may seem difficult to believe at first glance, but its theories are supported by a growing body of evidence, and by the indisputable stature and seriousness Thomas Gold brings to any scientific enterprise. In this book we see a brilliant and boldly original thinker, increasingly a rarity in modern science, as he develops revolutionary conclusions about the fundamental workings of our planet, the origins of life on Earth, the nature of earthquakes, and even the likelihood of life on -- or within -- other planets. “The only fool bigger than the person who knows it all is the person who argues with him. 8. I was leaving Houston last week when the obnoxious girl in front of me calls her boyfriend during the climb-out. Talking smoochy smoochy way to loud, the male FA starts walking up the isle to tell her again to turn it off...I leaned forward and said 'come on baby hang it up and come back to bed'. I wished I had MY phone on 'cause the glare I got from her was a picture worth a million bucks! Oh gawd no you didn't????? Heh, heh of course you did. Nice job. “The only fool bigger than the person who knows it all is the person who argues with him. Stanislaw Jerzy Lec quotes (Polish writer, poet and satirist 1906-1966)

  10. ALthough that is the usual joke surrounding the Lebel Rifles... MANY of those same rifles had been used by several dead French soldiers from the trenches of WWI. You will find a lot of them with pretty lousy barrels. Do you have any idea how many young men died with those rifles? Oh crap, here we go with the frog jokes. I take it that a lot of infantrymen used those rifles successfully after the original owners dropped them? “The only fool bigger than the person who knows it all is the person who argues with him. 11. Damn Jim, I got a little something in my eye about halfway through that one. I'm glad this story was bumped I was hoping you would say your kid wanted to grow up and be another Brett Favre. NOT. You are such a good man. “The only fool bigger than the person who knows it all is the person who argues with him. Stanislaw Jerzy Lec quotes (Polish writer, poet and satirist 1906-1966)

  17. Agreed. I'm not trying to reprimand the kid though, well not much, I do remember what it was like to be young and bullet-proof. Initially I was just responding about the insanity I saw a few weeks ago on the Southbound I-75 from I-10 to the Wesley Chapel exit. Cars going 80-100 mph in the left and center lanes and so close to each other they seemed to have been on trailer hitches. One tap of the brakes and cars were weaving and shifting lanes so fast it made Nascar seem tame. I guess they were in hurry to get to one of those sex shops. “The only fool bigger than the person who knows it all is the person who argues with him. 18. Good for you. Now keep it on the track! I'm tired of moping up dead riders. Just like skydivers downsizing, each person on a bike thinks they're special and can handle it. That they have mad skillz. Very few have any sort of significant, organized ROAD riding training. And I'm not talking about the very basic, watered down MSF "Advanced Course." There's a reason EMT's and ER personal call them Donorcycles “The only fool bigger than the person who knows it all is the person who argues with him.
