  1. Old thread but while it's active.... I have decent health care through work (not the best, but its not bad) If I were to get injured while landing, will they cover me? How do I go about finding out if there is an extreme sports clause?
  2. Skydive Crosskeys has a ballon, but I am not sure the last time that they used it. Maybe you can give them a can call
  3. No what you don't remember is it being televised and shoved down your throat every where you turn. If you step away from the the tv and social media, people are still the same people as they were 100 years ago, same level of hate, bigotry, love, understanding and disagreements . Human nature is a lot easier to manipulate with a constant onslaught of media suggestions Funny, I recall seeing, on TV, Wallace standing on the steps declaring "segregation forever", when I wasn't even living in the USA. And the crowd of his supporters with hateful signs and hateful expressions on their faces. I recall seeing coverage of Bull Connor directing the use of fire hoses and police attack dogs against civil rights activists including children. I recall seeing the Watts riots on TV. I recall seeing the 1968 Dem convention on TV. I recall coverage of the KKK church bombings and the Meridian, Mississippi lynchings. You are just WRONG. You may recall those events being broadcasted. But my point is that they were few and far in between. You can go on your phone right now and probably view over a dozen live violent protests and a dozen live peaceful protests. This was not an option 50 years ago My great grand father lived through WW1, my grandfather ww2, my father and I have lived through a genocide, and I'm sure i could go back through my family history and every generation has lived through a war ( or not lived through it) So forgive me if I don't see how the world is any more peaceful or less racist than it was 100+ years ago
  4. Can some one explain to me the purpose of such a frap/leather hat? It does not seem to provide much protection in any regards, is it merely for style?

  6. I have not done it yet, but I imagine it would be wingsuiting. 4-7 Minutes of holding your core and your arms can be grueling on the body. Hell I know a few rounds of Muay Thai whoops my ass, so I can only imagine the kind of conditioning you need to fight shoulder fatigue at the more extreme end of the spectrum
  7. Commie Bastards! This state irks my soul. It does not make any sense why I can only purchase one hand gun a month, but if I want to buy 100 Ar/AK I am free to. Hell half the laws here make no sense On another note I miss PA, my cousin has a few cans
  8. I asked about this, they said they did vary it per jumper weight. But I did not have "high" flight. I think it just a matter of time, i need more seat time basically. I can see how it would be a great training tool, but for the price I think I will just get the basics down before I go to AFF, I can't imagine putting in 100s of hours in the tunnel
  9. Well I made my way to Ifly. Definitely a lot different than being in the sky, not as much fun as freefall. Biggest difference I noticed was the pressure difference on the legs, much harder to make smaller adjustments in the tunnel at least it felt that way for me. I purchased a small 10 minute session for next time, I think it is a good tool for progression, but I don't see myself becoming a tunnel rat
  10. It's when you fly so incredibly fast, that small flakes of skin start to peel of.....so called potato chips.. LMAO WARP SPEED!!! I did search the forum a few times, and found several threads and none really described it thoroughly. Although uncle Google came to the rescue after a few minutes of searching “Potato chipping” : in skydiving, to experience bodily undulations during free fall as the result of being too rigid or nervous
  11. My DZ has a nice mixture of young folks and "seasoned" veterans. I did my first jump on my 31st birthday. Just curious as to when everyone else started jumping, and wondering if it is mainly a young person's sport (Obviously physical fitness is more important than age)
  12. Perhaps this is why I lean towards Buddhism, they don't consider them selves a religion technically but a way of life. And a lot of it is applicable to every day situations And you are correct about every religion trying to convert people. My cousin just became a Born Again, man I thought Jehovah Witnesses were bad lol
  13. I'm a big car guy. The E-type is one of the most beautiful automobiles ever designed IMO. Kind of a shame not to restore it, but whatever a hot rod is still a hot rod even if electric. This is my favorite electric car to date, pure awesomeness https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eT7KKxoAvvk
  14. I'm not referring to predictions, Nastradamus style. I'm referring to things they knew about human reproduction (trimesters), iron and other metals, the relative depth of the ocean, the protecting aspect of the ozone, etc https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Islamic_attitudes_towards_science I think Alchemy was probably the most interesting (not the pursuit of changing lead to gold, but rather basic chemistry) and helped advance civilization. I am not Muslim. I was raised catholic but lean more towards a Buddhist approach towards life. I believe in a higher power, but I don't believe it explains everything. Personally I believe there is a lost link to civilization somewhere, or maybe it has been destroyed. Until someone can replicate building 1 large pyramid, I will continue this belief. I have not seen one logical explanation for the pyramids around the world come from science or religion. (also the fact that if you map them out they make quite a geometrical grid) People that use religion to explain everything irk my soul (if you believe in that lol) and for this reason I almost always avoid religious conversations
  15. The true mark of genius is recognizing his or her own ignorance. And acknowledging that the more they know, the more they have to discover. Forever a student of life if you will I will say this about religion, in particular Muslims. In the Koran there are many things science related things quoted. 100's of years before modern science could confirm, and many have turned out to be alarmingly true. The Arabs in particular were way ahead of their time
  16. Link Dec 16-17 this year, should you want to come watch. YES! If I am back in Europe in the winter I will definitely stop by
  17. What kind of health data can this provide, that a standard blood panel would not?
  18. Thanks for the tips! I'll look out for discounted times
  19. You know that is a good question, I guess BASE wingsuit jumps count, they are still wing suit jumps. I plan on Go pro before wingsuit as well As far as line entanglements I'm just going off what I have read, I have no personal experience in this area. Curious to see if people do experience more issues in this area in WS vs free fly
  20. Is this in reference to me? If so why am I receiving a warning?
  21. Reread what he's talking about. Does that sound like a man who believes in a being that created the universe or . . . a guy who's talking about "god" in a purely metaphorical sense? I've read about him quite a bit over the years, as I said he does not believe in god in a traditional sense. You may not even call it God or a higher power, depending on your interpretation. But it is very clear that he believes in some sort of governing force in the universe
