  1. YIKES! IF THAT WERE THE CASE, I'D BE GETTING A MOTORBIKE ASAP WITH A SIDE-CAR! WHICH BY THE WAY, i AM SERIOUSLY CONSIDERING DOING NEXT YEAR ANYWAYS- AND GAS IN THE US IS AROUND $1.50 US A GALLON, RIGHT NOW COMPARED TO WHATEVER IT IS YOU PAY THERE.
  2. HMMM- WELL, I'LL SEE IF THE VID. STORE HAS THOSE...THEY MAY NOT BE MY STYLE, BUT, HEY, I APPRECIATE YOUR OPINIONS JUST THE SAME. HAVE A GREAT SATURDAY GUYS. I'M OUTA HERE! SEE YA
  3. Please, give me some ideas. Gonna head home to get an early night to drive to a DZ. I want something good. Nothing too melodramatic or boring tonight. Thanx. - Lila.
  4. Where do you live? It'd be nice to have somewhere closer, but I guess lots of us gotta go quite a ways to get to a DZ, huh? I think most of the DZs here in MIchigan are all "down-state" and I live "up north"!
  5. Hi! Hanging out at a University Library using their on-line computers- Pretty quiet right now...But even so, there's still some cuties around! Gonna take off & get a video to take home- Any good recommendations? Quick! I ain't got all night...they just announced the library's closing in half an hour!!
  6. I'm changing my AFP training to a new-to-me DZ tomorrow. It's farther to dirve to than my 1st DZ- which was 90 miles one way. How far do you usually drive to jump?
  7. Hiya! Just popped on to say I'M GOING TO THE DZ TOMORROW! I GOTTA JUMP- it's been almost 4 wks since I've been able to jump! ...Weather's crummy...But I'm still going to the DZ to hope to be able to get in my AFP #6...Wish me well, switching my training to a DIFFERENT DZ ...YIKES! And I am nervous! But I think that learning/doing these flips&barrell rolls is gonna be FUN! Gotta go, just thought I hop on as the odd American! Should go home and get ready for an early morning drive to this new DZ. Looks like a longer drive than the 90 miles I was driving before. I'll find out tomorrow! HOW FAR DO YOU DRIVE TO GET TO YOUR DZ? Blue Skies to you-all

    help(songs?)

I love these old Beatles songs - "Here Comes the Sun" and "Black Bird" THOSE are terrifc songs if you can play them with all the picking that goes with them.
  9. I've been talking to people on the website here & at the 1st DZ I trained at (gotta check out if this new DZ'll be willing to do this TOO) about JUMPING THRU THE COLD WINTER MONTHS HERE IN THE NORTH. Amazingly some DZs stay open to the possiblitiy to make jumps runs during those freaky-warm days that'll occur IF they have enough people come on down to the DZ to do so. Guess Ya gotta call around and find those hardy DZ souls that do plan on doing that! Even if I finish AFP before snow falls, I'm seriously looking at jumping the remaining jumps thru the winter to keep current and get my A-License. Sunshine & (Cool!) Blues to Ya - Lila.
  10. YO' MAMA- JRAF! That's not for us free-thinking & Doin' women... Do ya remember this long agosong/jingle for some perfume ad or other??? "I can bring home the bacon, Fry it up in the pan, And never, ever let you forget you're a man... Because I am a woOOOoooMan...." And DON'T you forget it! So there!
  11. Good tips, 'Chele! Yeah, I'll try to remember to relax and smile...THESE last 2 levels #6#7 DO sound like LOTS OF FUN- So hopefully smiling won't be (?) an issue for me
  12. FINALLY gonna make the move to different DZ to finish up my AFP... I am VERY ANXIOUS about the move...I do feel good about the JM - he was the JM that worked with me at the other DZ for my AFP levels 1-3. BUT I am nervous about the DZ, equipment, landing area, aircraft, etc. - BUT I think I will be jumping from a 182 and I AM FAMILIAR with those. *WHEW* I'm hoping for a break in this overcast Michigan weather so that I CAN JUMP and make at least the next level #6...and move closer to getting my A-License. I NEED TO JUMP THIS WEEKEND! This JM & this DZ are more than willing to work with me...And it's been almost 4 weeks since I was last able to jump! It's all the "unknown"s that are rattling my cage! Is this common? What should I be doing, thinking & checking out when I get to this new-to-me DZ?
  13. Gerb You didn't make that up did you?!? How very poetic and appropriate! -LILA.
  14. VERY COOL BRIT! Personally, I have been attracted to a wide range of guys over the years, from up to ten years older & very cool professional-types, TO younger(?) intelligent/creative &/or active, adventurous types. But that range is inevitable for me because I'm one of those artistic, creative spontaneous, adventurous types. BUT I purposely put off getting seriously involved with anybody after my divorce to avoid the "rebound" stupidity that I'd no doubt fall into... Now that I'm getting out there again, I wanted to hear other people's take on the subject. THANX - Keep it coming! This is really interesting!
  15. When I first was in the single scene I tended to go out with older guys, like in their late twenties, or so. I was in the army in my twenties, and most of the guys I went out with were younger guys, youngest then was something like 8 years younger. Really never seemed to be an issue until I dated a guy 24 to my 29. His folks kinda freaked when I meet them. Were sweet as can be til they asked me how old I was- then the room turned artic! Whoa! Obvious disproval. I think it's a more stressful sitation when the guy is younger than the woman. That was the last time it was an issue til now. I look and act younger than my # age. Now that I've finally really been able to work thru my post-divorce baggage(it's been a while!), I'm ready to move on. I guess my options are open. Personally, I am not closed to going out with a guy just because of his age.

    Most wanted!

Yeah, it gets pretty uncomfortable as a straight chick hanging out reading this stuff! AND personally, I AM NOT not into cyber voyeurism or exhibitionism, either...Kinda looks like some other people have a corner on the website for that!
  17. Especially when you get to be 30+ it seems to become a BIG issue! Being single, I've been thinking about it lately. AND as a woman, I sometimes I wonder if I should even tell? my age! It really doesn't seem to be an issue so Why even bring it up? I'm learning, that sometimes you really shouldn't put limitations on the people in your life. How much of an age difference is too much of an age difference or does it matter? LIke when? Why? What do you got to say on this? I'm curious...
  18. So what exactly is the problem? If you give more specifics, maybe you can get some good ideas from the DZ.com crowd. How about some in-put from us women out here, too? Come on Gerb....
  19. Aww... Come on, now...Is it nighty-Night for all of ya?
  20. Need a natural buzz? How about... laughter, affection & chocolate = Seratonins running, swimming (etc) = Endorphines These are some easy ways to make yourself feel happier AND mellowed out. Really! Anybody know about any "others"? - Lila.
  21. Honestly, Gerb! Listen to DrunkMonkey. He's got the right idea. Why are you so down on yourself? All along -so far- you seem like a clever, funny and thoughtfully insightful guy. And Hey...You gotta have a lot going for you, 'cause we skydivers like you ! -LILA.
  22. HiYa! Scottish (mostly) on Dad's side...and my Mom's Dad was from Sweden! That's probably why I've always loved accents! Funny, though, if I'm talking with someone with an accent, I gotta really try hard not to start taking on an accent myself! Even in the US I start developing regional accents, fairly quickly. I live in the west central part of the lower peninsula(L.P.) of Michigan. Lots of scandinanvians live in the upper peninsula (U.P.) you know? It's really like it's own world there! It's own culture, accents, everything.
  23. Hiya Mac! Yeah, love the morning java- French Roast Especially! But sorry no coffee here...Because I get my on-line access at the public library. Man, I really gotta get a computer w/access at home...Right now I'm at a University with lots of good-looking coeds walking around!!! -Lila.
  24. Hiya Squeak! How's training going for you guy? Have ya got your sweet KAS up on a tandem, yet? Sure that the hook'll be set after that for reeling her in to skydiving! Sure did for me, anyways! But then, it might take a few more tandems to be sure, ya know?
