  1. I recall years ago seeing a video of a guy going on a talk show arguing against a clueless host who was promoting the AWB. He started out by showing the host photos of two guns, and asking if either was an AW. The host picked one and assured him it was an AW and that the other was not.

    Then the guy opened a case and pulled out the one the host had said was not an AW. Then in front of the camera he disassembled it down to the receiver, then reassembled it using aftermarket parts he brought in a box.

    When he was done, everyone realized the two photos he had shown initially, were the same gun. IIRC, it was a Ruger 10-22

    That's the true beauty of the war in Iraq - war supporters can declare victory every few months. Heck, during WWII there were a measly two V-days. Now we can have half a dozen.

    And when violence picks up again, as it always does? Don't look at it as going backwards. Look at it as a chance for another announcement of victory!

  12. I'll be a lot more enthused about hybrids when they start including the option to charge them from household AC, so you can make short trips w/o burning fuel at all.

  20. Do some searching on the policies in death-penalty convictions, with regard to what happens to the records and evidence after the defendant has been executed. That should answer your questions.

    Absolutely! Since when did television become a necessity like food and shelter, that must be subsidized by the govt???>:(

    I bought a Samsung HDTV tuner back in March that has composite/component/s-video/HDMI/RF outputs, so it could be used with any analog set as a converter. I have the DVI plugged into a 37" 1080p monitor. I get about 15 different DTV channels with an ordinary antenna. "CSI Miami" is visually stunning, as are many PBS shows.
