APF Wingsuit Requirements/Standards

Recommended Posts

Fergs asked me to help with this some time back and I believe I have a copy of the paper Fergs wrote for the Op Regs some where.

I do not know what the APF has done with it or if it is currently part of the Op Reg. I do know that the requirements in that paper are the same that BirdMan recommends and that the USPA adopted, which recommends that skydivers have a minimum of 500 freefall skydives or a minimum of 200 freefall skydives in the last 18 months and receive one on one training from a wing suit instructor.

Jason (Scotty),

I'll email you a copy of the doc - as it's too large to attach to this post.

The APF sent a copy to all Aussie CI's a year or two back. They do not want to "regulate" wingsuit jumping per se. Rather, they want it to be much like free-flying, where precedures are in place to ensure all participants stay safe - and have fun as well.

Contact me when you are ready to do a FFC. I'm at Picton (with demo suits) reasonably often. Or can you make Equinox Boogie up at ramblers?
