980 0 #1 June 11, 2007 It seems there are a few different approaches to dealing with DVD/video and stills. I am curious how different DZs handle this. Please post how your DZ handles this and what country/province/state they are. If you do not think it appropriate to post all this info, please PM me instead and you can be assured I will keep it confidential. One DZ I know of: country: Canada province: Ontario price for DVD only or digital stills only: $100 CAD price for DVD & digital stills: $130 CAD pay for DVD only or digital stills only: $35 pay for DVD & digital stills: $55 DZ provides for DVD: all editing equipment and media DZ provides for stills: media readers/CD burners and media videographer provides/does for DVD: video camera equipment, edit & burn DVD, own packjob videographer provides/does for stills: camera equipment, download & burn CD, own packjob thanks PS - when do we get a smiley with some cameras on it's head? The topic of video costs/versus pay to vidiots has actually been discussed recently... (I'm too lazy to do a search and find the thread) but I do think the idea of a vidiot simily would be kick ass... you should go over into the suggestions forum and offer to create a simley/see if someone can come up with something... Peej 0 #3 June 11, 2007 My DZ: Johannesburg Skydiving Club, Johannesburg, South Africa. We charge: Tandem with DVD - depending on the ZAR/US$ exchange rate: roughly $220 Stills photography - roughly $15 Tandem without camera - roughly $165 We don't offer just stills. The DVD's and editing equipment are supplied by the tandem operation. We supply our own skydiving gear, pay for our pack jobs, cameras, CD's for stills and our personal laptops for burning stills. piisfish 136 #4 June 11, 2007 our DZ is 120CHF (approx 100usd) for DVD or digital stills, everything for the videographer who has to pay for his slot pack and edit for himself, unless he finds someone to do it. Videographer provides everything but we have a DVD burner available at the DZ.scissors beat paper, paper beat rock, rock beat wingsuit - KarlM
BlueSBDeath 2 #5 June 11, 2007 Here at Lovely Raeford NC USA the price for video on DVD and stills on CD is $87 (the TM cost $175). Videographer earns $35 for both DVD and stills. Only $30 if stills are not included. Raeford Parachute Center supplies, MiniDV tape, CD's, editing and burning equipment. You may edit your own work or have someone else do it for you, they make $7 an edit. So...........if you do the air work and edit yourself you make $42 a jump (before taxes). This is great for us very lazy old guys who just jump and pass off our tape and memory card. Good Times!!! jtval 0 #11 June 18, 2007 I guess I Should ask how much a jump ticket costs. As of june 1st the prices increased to $19(to 10kagl) from the 182 and $22 from the caravan. BEFORE June 1st the tickets were $16 and $20, respectively. I spoke to the DZO about raising the price of vid and/or stills package to cover the price of jumptickets. so we'd getone free jump for the Either and 2 jumps for both.My photos My Videos
