arranging photo files ?

Is there an automated way to arrange my files by time if i have multiple camera's shooting on the same day ?

If I remember well, you're using a Mac.. iPhoto does this for you already ;)

If not sort by last modified date in Explorer and voila..

Just make sure the cameras don't have the same number for the file names..

I couldn't find it in there nor photoshop cs .It has to be by time because of a particular event ,we'll have multiple cameras shooting of each subject .

I use a program called iView Media Pro. http://www.iview-multimedia.com/mediapro/

You have to make certain that all the photographer's cameras are synched to the same time, but other than that, it would be a snap as iView has "sort by creation date" as one of several sort functions.

Aperture - Send all pictures to the same project on import. Arrange by date.

picasa2 does it and its a free google program

Picasa is a pc based program,I'm running on a mac but i'm sure a few of us will be using pc's for this event . I have alot of bugs to work on for this event yet ,this is only the beginning .

what op really needs is the ability to RENAME files by creation time... and if anyone here has the answer, id be grateful as well, as im in a very similar situation..

ACDSee can arrange/name by date/time, and Windows can too, if you sort by name, CTRL+A for all, then right click the first, choose rename.
Forgotten how to do this on Apple.
