vdschoor 0 #1 January 28, 2004 Hi all, I just ran into this: http://www.luite.com/temp/1DmkII.pdf A new version of the 1D, highlights: 8.2 Megapixels 8.5 fps with a burst of 40 !!!!!! shots in JPEG mode. new Digic-II sensor takes both compact flash as well as Secure Digital supports the new EF-S lenses (like the Digital Rebel) Firewire, USB-1.1 and video out connections Expected launch is in April. The PDF is in french unfortunately, so someone that's better in french than me feel free to translate it. I couldn't find anything on Canon's site yet. Update: someone went through the hassle of translating the PDFs here Iwan
jdhill 0 #2 January 28, 2004 The lens conversion will also move from 1.6 to 1.3... wonder where it will be priced... JAll that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing. - Edmund Burke

Well for that price it had better be since you could buy 4 300D kits and an additional lens for that price."It's just skydiving..additional drama is not required" Some people dream about flying, I live my dream SKYMONKEY PUBLISHING
Deuce 1 #6 January 29, 2004 The 1DS sensor will be on a Semi-pro SLR in the next couple of years, and I'll get one of those, if it's similar in size and weight to the 10D.

XDV 0 #12 January 29, 2004 I found a link on photozone.de, still in french but only one page, it will accept CF en secure media 8.5 picture by sec. very sharp white balance, iso 50 to 3200 can record sound up to 30 sec. buffer 40 jpeg or 20 RAW shutter until 1/8000 focal lenght 1.3 lots of other things but I translate lots of the more importante
daring 0 #13 January 30, 2004 QuoteThe lens conversion will also move from 1.6 to 1.3... wonder where it will be priced... The 1D has always had a 1.3 multiplier. The extra speed and buffer are really nice, but it's probably going to be a big heavy camera, built like a tank. Not something I'd want to strap to my head anytime soon, but I'm sure there are those who will.
fasterfaller 0 #14 January 30, 2004 The new 1D is heavy but it can be jumped . I have jumped my 1ds and it is not to much of a problem .
