chaoskitty 0 #26 October 2, 2007 Andy, I know you jump alot when you are stateside, but how current do you stay when you're in the UK? I'd rather you stay with a little more nylon over your head for the times when you are less current than watch you go fast just because you're here for a couple of months. At least keep your Diablo and use it as a backup. Other than that, just demo demo demo.. til you find the right canopy for you. Easier said than done, I know. I still dont think I've found the right canopy.
UDSkyJunkie 0 #27 October 4, 2007 QuoteI've got a few jumps on a sabre2 150. I found the openings fine for the most part and the front riser pressure was light. Toggles it felt huge though. Sabre2 has a long control range compared to some similar canopies, which might be what makes it feel "huge". I have found though that if you combine the toggle turn with some harness input you can really whip it around. I found the Pilot to have a tighter, faster toggle response, and it otherwise performs similarly to a Sabre2 (not quite as much low-speed lift, though). Nothing 9-celled is going to have nearly the turn rate of the Diablo... it's just wicked-fast! It's one of the things the diablo owners I've known really liked about it."Some people follow their dreams, others hunt them down and beat them mercilessly into submission." KEVINLOVE 0 #28 October 5, 2007 Consider a 135 sabre 2, it's semi eliptical and if your determined to down size a sabre is a good choice based on what you've been flying:) with 161 jumps you should probably keep your wing loading around 1.3 , 1.4 or less. Just my opinion.... K
dploi 0 #29 October 5, 2007 For the category of canopy you seem to be seeking, Sabre2 can't be beat. It's probably the most well-rounded canopy on the market today.
Andy_Copland 0 #30 January 30, 2009 Wow, digging up an old thread of mine. I didnt actually go on to downsize.1338 People aint made of nothin' but water and shit. Until morale improves, the beatings will continue.
