Toes in the sand?

Recommended Posts

I have heard that it isn't a good idea to drag stuff(appendages) through the sand while swooping - Mainly because it can grab you and face plant you.

Am I just way wrong on this -

Not that I swoop - but I try.:)

Turtles don't do sand dumbass, you'd get stuck. :PB|

Amphibious creatures should stick to water. B|

See what happens when I try to post serious questions?
Sea turtles do fine on sand -
But I think I'm a Box Turtle.[:/]

Seriously - am I way off on this or what?

I'd say it depends on the landing area, but if you're dragging lightly (controlled) I doubt you'd get face planted. Dragging appendages is a bad habit to get into if you compete though, last thing you'd want is to touch the ground early.

No competition in my near future - I wouldn't think - I just like how it feels and how I feel doing it. That and it look scool.:)

At the Wildwood PST Beech Boogie last July 4th, I dragged my toes in the sand on two separate jumps. On the first jump, everything went as planned and I left a nice mark close to 200' long in the sand. On the subsequent jump, I proceeded to do the same thing (drag my right toe), but this time I hit some sort of rock which needless to say hurt like heck. So watch out for the sand crabs (or rocks in my case). They're just dying to hurt you.

Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
