freeflydrew 0 #1 April 10, 2003 Probably the wrong forum (perhaps gear and rigging?), but anyway... Does a 90 square foot Xaos 27 cell, or 90 VX fit into a Javelin RS with a 113 reserve, and if so, how tight is it? Thanks in advance Drew
Watcher 0 #2 April 10, 2003 It'll fit, it'll be tight, Cypres will make it even tighter. If you can get the D bag closed, then it will fit in a Javelin (and NOT look bad). They are great like that. You shouldn't have a problem, but if you doubt you could just get a RS.5 or RS1, they just give alittle more depth to the container to get a slightly bigger canopy in them. ---Jonathan Bartlett D-24876 AFF-I
Hooknswoop 19 #3 April 10, 2003 Extremely tight, if it fits. The largest x-braced I put in my old XRS was an FX-79, and it was tight. The 27 and VX pack up bigger. Hook
SkymonkeyONE 3 #4 April 10, 2003 Yep, my Velocity 79 is fairly tight in my RS (and older XRS). James O and Stephen Lee both fit 96's in their RS.1's Aesthetically, they look nearly identical. The added inch does make for quite a bit more room. Chuck
Skydive2 1 #5 April 10, 2003 I put a Velocity 90 in my RS (actually its the older XRS, but the same size). Its tight but, fits ok. But the -27 celled canopy will pack even bigger, so it will probility be super tight. I put my Velocity 90 in a friends RS.1, and it fit like a glove. diveout 0 #6 April 11, 2003 psycho-pack it, cram it in there, and then see if it deploys safely

Ron 7 #8 April 11, 2003 I had an 88 FX in my XRS with a 113 and CYPRES...I didn't have a problem with it. Ron"No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers,
skydogs 0 #9 April 15, 2003 I've got a Xaos-21 98 in my RS.1 with a cypress and a 113. It fits tight, but it's in there.. Not sure how much bigger the 27 packs..
Hooknswoop 19 #10 April 15, 2003 I have seen a Stiletto 107 in an XRS. Worked fine until the bag ripped apart. Over-stuff too much and eventually it is gonna give. Hook
jumperconway 0 #11 April 19, 2003 Hi Drew, My Crossfire 99 was a very tight fit in my RS, my Xaos 21-85 and 88 are much easier to get in but Chris at precision told me that the 27 packs about 10% bigger than the 21 cell. As tight as my non crossbraced (but full formed nose) Crossfire was, I would think that the 27-90 is going to be a bitch! Also I would only put the bag straight in with the bridle looking straight up because there wasn't room to rotate the D-bag. I agree that a RS.5 orRS1 would be the better choice.
