They don't have a rigger at Sibson, but they have advanced packers who can do your reserve for you, but if you need any work doing you'll need to take it to Chatteris (North London Parachute Centre) where they have a rigger (Kim) who is fantastic. Probably best to ring either of the dzs though to see if they can fit you in, or be prepared to leave it with them for a week or so.

I alays plug my DZ
www.skydiveweston.com
It's near Oxford, easy to get to by car, train (then taxi)

Andy Ford is one of the riggers there [email protected]
He's the rigger for the Royal Air Force so he can't be that bad ;)

They only have ONE rigger? I mean I knew there were cuts but I didn't realise it was that bad! :PB|

:)while in uk try eoropean dz's
empuriabrava in spain
2 hour flight from stanstead to girona(barcelona)weather generally good, jump prices cheap and Colin the rigger on site
cheap accomodation hotels from about 35 eoros a night or bunkhouse about 12
summer months great cos lots to do when skydiving finished, the main centre only about 25 mins walk from dz and about an hours walk back depending on how much youve had to drink!!
Swooping, huh? I love that stuff ... all the flashing lights and wailing sirens ... it's very exciting!

So steve, the fact it takes me an hour to walk there and one and a half to two hours to walk back means i should cut down on my drinking? ;)

Empuria is a great place! Highly recommended!

I jump there too, and if id trust any rigger, it would be Andy. Ive done the bus/taxi route on a sun, and it cost me £35 to get to the dz. The jumps where worth it though!
Some dream of flying, i live the dream...

WTF?

You're obviously not from our side of the atlantic. :P

"Riggers" to us are people who are able to construct containers and, as a result, make modifications to all sorts of equipment and pack reserves in accordance with their own methods rather than have to stick rigidly to manufacturers' instructions (providing their actions can be justified).

An "Advanced Packer" OTOH, is licensed to pack reserves only, and may not conduct unsupervised work that can materially affect the parachute system.

Not everywhere conforms to the US way of doing things. ;)
