chuckbrown 0 #1 July 14, 2008 I had the incredible pleasure (and intense stress) of putting Ray Wallace, a veteran of the 82nd Airborne's combat jump on D-Day, through a IAD first jump course. Words cannot describe my relief when he walked away from his landing. NWFlyer 2 #3 July 14, 2008 I'm not sure but there was a little bit of dust or some kind of allergen in my room when I was watching those videos. Great stuff. What an honor. drdive 0 #4 July 14, 2008 Verryyyy very cool. I love talking to these guys when I see them in the ER. Their accomplishments were beyond amazing. Thanks for making it happen for him. Doc PS - Krisanne, thanks for the allergy warning - I took a zyrtec before viewing, but it didn't work "We saved your gear. Now you can sell it when you get out of the hospital and upsize!!" billvon 2,400 #5 July 14, 2008 Just before the 50th anniversary of D-day years ago we put about 25 Normandy paratroopers through a "recurrency" course (really a first jump course; some of them hadn't jumped in 50 years.) Some of them then went overseas to do an actual re-enactment of the jump. They were a great bunch of guys, but I was very glad it had just rained; if it hadn't we would have had half a dozen broken ankles/legs. The soft ground really helped. SStewart 13 #7 July 14, 2008 You guys did an awesome job Chuck! I got a real kick out of talking to Ray after the jump, he had some interesting stories for sure. I told him I hope I am still jumping at 83, actually I just hope I am still alive at 83 Onward and Upward!
