Barney Frank Wants America To Be Woodstock Nation

Pushes Legislation to Legalize Marijuana

July 2, 2009 – Massachusetts gay activist Barney Frank (D) not only wants to force all Americans to affirm the lifestyles of gays, lesbians, bisexuals, drag queens, and transsexuals, but he also wants us to get high on marijuana, too.

Apparently, Barney longs for a return to Woodstock, that sex, drugs and rock music orgy that took place on a farm in New York in 1969. Let’s all “turn on and tune out” – as President Obama leads our nation over the cliff into a permanent recession and a fascist economic system.

Barney wants Congress to pass the Marijuana Patient Protection Act (H.R. 2835), which will prevent the federal government from prosecuting users of marijuana in states where the use of the drug for medical reasons is legal. He is also pushing for passage of the Act to Remove Federal Penalties for the Personal Use of Marijuana by Responsible Adults (H.R. 2943). This would eliminate federal penalties for the possession or transfer of “small amounts of marijuana.”

About as accurate as saying "not only does the Christian Right want to decide who you can sleep with, they want women to die in childbirth, too."

I'm all for legalizing marijuana and letting people decide for themselves whether or not to use it. Freedom can be a bitch, but it definitely beats the alternative.

Bill, if you truly support your post here then you demonstrate the highest level of hypocrisy I have yet seen. That is IF you support Waxman Markey. The levels of freedom that would be taken by the passage of this bill is are second to no other bill ever passed.

So tell us, do you support Waxman Markey?

Yes, it's filled with people like him (and me) - skydivers, in other words. In general, skydivers think that you should be allowed to do dangerous things even if other people think they're stupid or not worth the risk, as long as you don't hurt anyone else.

So, I can drive my truck and expect cheap gas because it does not hurt anyone else ? And hell sir, that is not even dangerous now is it!

But you want to force others to do as you see fit becasue YOU think it does harm others correct?

Ok, I think smokin pot does harm others. Those who do not smoke so, by your logic, I should be able to say you cant, Right?

Do you support Waxman Markey?

uh, last i checked, "yes" is not an answer to a "how..." question.

Barney Frank is my absolute favorite congressman right now, because for all the crying the right wing does about less government, he's the one out there actually working to get the government OUT of our homes, off our bodies, out of our bedrooms, etc. exactly the places government does NOT need to be. And he's one of the most "liberal" people in Congress.

and for a christian, the article Ron posted sure doesn't sound very loving, does it?

I didn't ask you if you thought it hurt you; you already answered that. I asked you HOW it hurt you. Can you answer that question?

If I would yet again spend the time to find the studies and opinions of Drs and others, yes, I could give specific answers. you know the studies as to most all here. In the end, in many cases it leads to other drugs for an example. Dont tell that is BS either because I saw MJ destroy my best friend life and carreer until he turned it aroung at age 45. IMO he had the potenial to be one of the best high school and college athletes in his sport. He lost that chance in high school once he smoke the stuff. Me? I lost a best friend and not because of me...

Point is, you believe you got it pinned. dont you....

Ah, do yourself a favor and so some research on your fav Senator and include Dodd while you are at it. In reference to the current economic state we are in. The state run media will not say a word about it but many economists and those who study policy and regulation are. More every day.

Glad he is your hero. To me, he is an idot drunk on power and money that will screw us all if we let him.

But, do your own looking into it, if you dare......

That's one of the most ridiculous statements I've ever heard.

If you truly believe this, you're one of the most naive people I've ever come across. :|

Yes, but he's working hard to put the government into a lot places it doesn't need to be, too.

Social issues? Yep, I agree with him most of the time.

Pulling in the bacon for his buddies back home and letting the taxpayers foot the bill? That one I'm not so happy about.

"Traditional values" my ass. Have you ever known a cancer patient on chemo or radio, or an AIDS patient with wasting syndrome, with intractable nausea so severe they couldn't eat to keep themselves alive, for whom all "approved" anti-emetics like Zofran have failed, but who do get some blessed relief from MJ? I have. Yet this article extols the virtues of criminalizing those people. It's about as mean-spirited as they come. Not very Christ-like at all.

You've been giving us quite a lesson in "false prophets" lately. Thank you.

I'm not a huge fan of the "medical necessity" arguments for legalization. I honestly don't think we need a medical necessity to allow freedom. "Crimes" without victims don't make much sense, to my mind.

That said, there is definitely a fringe of Christian theology that holds painkillers to be sinful (or at least pain itself to be virtuous). Remember the business with Mother Theresa not allowing painkillers in her clinics? I suppose if that's the way your thinking runs, there is some theological justification.

"Justification" is often a codeword for "rationalization." It's amazing how much shit in the human condition, which would never be tolerated under any other "justification", is enabled by virtue of it being rationalized as "religion." I have no willingness to suffer such fools gladly.

I don't care if it is legal or not. If it is legal it will help BHO's socialistic agenda. When stoned, you have a tendency to give up your freedom, happily. I mean who wants to be bothered with responsibility to self, family and country.

Please pass the "Screamin' Yellow Zonkers." They're made with "truth, beauty, goodness and a little salt."
