Death Penalty

Recommended Posts

One of the things the Texas statute allows someone to use deadly force to stop is criminal mischief, both to one's own home or to the property of another.

In Texas, criminal mischief is defined as follows:

§ 28.03. CRIMINAL MISCHIEF. (a) A person commits an
offense if, without the effective consent of the owner:
(1) he intentionally or knowingly damages or destroys
the tangible property of the owner;
(2) he intentionally or knowingly tampers with the
tangible property of the owner and causes pecuniary loss or
substantial inconvenience to the owner or a third person; or
(3) he intentionally or knowingly makes markings,
including inscriptions, slogans, drawings, or paintings, on the
tangible property of the owner.

Translation: In Texas, if some vandal is spray-painting grafitti on your garage door, you can shoot him to death.

Actually you shoot to stop. If he dies, oh well.

The solution--don't fuck with others or their property.
Illinois needs a CCW Law. NOW.

I would suggest reading the dz.com rules.

Personally, I don't have any stuff that's worth killing over, and I'm not about to be judge and jury. Honest self-defense is a different story. Going to where you're likely to need self-defense, particularly if you kind of hope that it turns out that way, is not really cool.

There is nothing more dangerous than breaking a basic safety rule and getting away with it. It removes fear of the consequences and builds false confidence. (tbrown)

The liberals say that if you make a big deal about homosexuality, you're probably gay.

I see a closet Republican in our midst. Come on out , Amazon. Embrace your true self.

Tsk Tsk Tsk...

I just find it funny that so many Texicans find it morally acceptable to kill a fellow human being for some of the stupidest possible reasons. Not very christian of you bible belters.. but we are used to that level of hypocrisy.... but I doubt the lord will be as forgiving to those who exercise their legal right to murder another human being.

So basically you dont have a valid arguement....and are just aching to shoot someone... so you make a personal attack instead of a valid arguement... to someone pointing out your hypocrisy...SWEET..

I have voted for republicans in the past.. Nixon and Reagan come to mind.. and in both cases I was wrong....

Nixon... I am not a crook..... a pathological paranoid

Reagan... "Sorry Mommy I slept thru that briefing on the whole Iran affair to support the Contras"... Plausible deniability for him... while a bunch of right wing idiots were running an illegal war with a wink and a nod from the Vice President:S:S

Both turned out to be complete disappointments.

There used to be moderate republicans locally that I voted for.. but nowadays.. you get religious whackos spouting right wing dogma on every issue.... and are so far from the center they could pass muster in any South American Fascist country in their policies.

So no... I can assure you... I have not voted for anyone with an R attached to their name since the late 80's

And all you can see is one bad thing. I quess that you wish the USSR still had a stranglehold on 1/3 of Europe. Socialism is da bomb.

Executing him in cold blood just for vandalism or theft might be a bit much. I should be allowed to use the gun to detain him and if he runs I should not be obliged to break a sweat chasing him or risk tackling him. I should be allowed to try to shoot for the legs (yeah I know, you don't shoot for legs but if he is unarmed and running away I don't wish to be excessive)
My biggest handicap is that sometimes the hole in the front of my head operates a tad bit faster than the grey matter contained within.
