Because the laws of physics don't forbid it, and anything that can happen, will.

It does not violate any laws of physics that Angelina Jolie and Scarlett Johannson would have a threesome with me. According to your theory then, that will happen.:)

Yes, but it will most likely be in another universe.

Seems that I was busy doing something close to nothing, but different than the day before.

There are plenty of planets out there with nothing (living things anyways) so it's bound to happen that a couple will have something on them.

No, I meant why does the universe as a whole exist.

We die only once, but for such a very long time.

I'll believe in ghosts when I catch one in my teeth.

I'm thinking we need to hire a really good lawyer, and get some of those laws amended. I can think of all sorts of handy changes.

Changes of a lot less than 1% in some of the constants of nature render the universe as we know it impossible. Would you trust a lawyer to get it right?

In the same sense as the above mentioned Scarlet Johannson/Angelina Jolie scenario?

[And incidentally, does toying with the idea of a lawyer for the fundamentals of science qualify as a theological discussion? Or are we still safely in the murky realm of metaphysics?]
