JohnnyD 0 #26 September 11, 2002 I agree 100%. Quit your whining. Less than 2 miles out is nowhere near a record.
Jumperpaula 0 #27 September 11, 2002 I agree whole heartedly that the safety of all people on that plane is Important and all jumpers are equally deserving of a good spot. All groups should take as much time in the door as they need to make a successful skydive. Even 27 seconds if that's what it takes.

billvon 2,463 #30 September 11, 2002 >But they still shouldn't of taken 27 seconds in the door!!!!! We do 12 ways at Otay that, on occasion, take 20-25 seconds in the door. It's a non issue since we just start the climbout 20 seconds early.

diverdriver 5 #32 September 11, 2002 Let's clarify something more......this was a PRACTICE jump. They are not putting fun jumpers on competition loads. And anyone who wants a go around can get one. Standing order from Roger Nelson the owner of the aircraft. No, Roger was not flying.
SkymonkeyONE 3 #33 September 11, 2002 QuotePaula although I would agree that this is what they were training for and it is important to all of us..... No one is more important than the next. That "one jump" may have been equally as important to our fellow flyer here, and only he knows that for sure. I have been to plenty of dropzones that -will not- do two passes if they think the spot is OK. Fortunately, Raeford is not such a place. What is the protocol at SDC? Is it a one-pass only DZ? I have only allowed myself to get hosed by a team one time and I made them buy a case of beer (GK 8-way team in 1991). While it may be a team's job to do well in a meet, it is NOT their right to hose the rest of the paying customers; especially students. All that being said, I would have hit the buttons for a go around if I were the original poster. Chuck
