Anyone recognize this rig?

It's some kind of SCR; looks a little like a faded NSCR, but I don't remember for sure.

Oooh -- I really like that theory. I'll bet you're right. I got mine in 1976, but I long ago got rid of the jumpsuit I put it on, and have no idea what it looked like.

yes....R W B bi-centennial SCR patch... i earned one on june 5th 1976.....# 6190. I have it in a photo album, fresh as the day i got it...;)
Really glad for the friends who made sure we completed the application forms correctly... AND sent them IN...

According to the serial # (20509) it was made the 20th week of 1975 and was the 9th rig that week.
It is an original SST (not a Racer). It has a metal Martin Baker ripcord and R3 riser releases system.
It appears to have a throw out belly band which must be an after market mod.
The patch on the cap is an add-on, not factory, as has been pointed out.
Our records don't go back that far so I can't tell for whom it was made.
