nacmacfeegle 0 #3 February 10, 2003 Loved the quote.... Muenkel 0 #7 February 10, 2003 You know who makes the dell dude seem pleasant? That damn ditech.com guy. Especially the commercial where he's playing himself and his mother. Muenkel 0 #9 February 10, 2003 You're right. It must have something to do with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. Some things you never forget. Chris _________________________________________ Chris
Gravitymaster 0 #10 February 10, 2003 Actually it didn't work. I may have remembered the DiTech guy, but I'm shopping for a new house and won't consider them because the commercial is so annoying. I also avoided Dell Computers and bought an HP instead. I won't do business with those who annoy me even if I remember their commercials. Can you imagine calling Dell for service and having to speak to the Dell Dude? AAAARRRGGGGHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Gravitymaster 0 #11 February 10, 2003 Or that Geico Gecko. I mean would anybody buy insurance because of an annoying little lizard? I figure companies like that have figured out the mentality of their customers and are appealing to them on that level.
jfields 0 #12 February 10, 2003 QuoteActually it didn't work. While you specifically may not have patronized either company, the statistics show that marketing and raising "brand awareness" definitely works. Even with annoying ads.

jfields 0 #14 February 10, 2003 Quote Sad isn't it? Yup. I see it like it is, but I don't necessarily like it. One of many reasons I seldom watch TV.

jfields 0 #16 February 10, 2003 Quote Well....that's another proof that you need to be DRUGGED to buy a Dell [Fireproof nomex suit on ] Why is that? What's wrong with Dell? Is it that they don't come loaded up with Linux standard? Or that it is so conformist to buy a PC from the company with the largest market share, instead of building it from scratch? Maybe grandma doesn't care about how much "OSS rulez". Maybe she just wants to USE her computer, without bothering to customize it. Crazier things have happened. [/Nomex] If you want to bust on somebody, I think Dell is a poor choice. Now, America Online, they are evil.
