Emma 0 #1 September 26, 2003 Sort of links to MochaSkyChick's post re new DZs... I'm thinking of taking a 3 month tour of US Dzs, do some fun jumps, meet some people, drink a lot (probably). Anyone done anything similar and have any advice, or have a particularly cool DZ they want to plug?
Remster 24 #2 September 26, 2003 Thats gonna generate an awfull lot of soap opera type stories... Will this be in summer? How about doing the Boogie tour, or do you want to visit actual DZs?Remster
Vallerina 2 #3 September 26, 2003 It depends on what time of year those three months will be spent in the US. I recommend coming by the Chicago area, of course. We have a few good dzs, the city is fun to see, and I'm here! There's a thin line between Saturday night and Sunday morning

What is it? How do I find out? But yes, I want to visit actual DZs Thought Fla, AZ, California...Hmmm. Where else? Might even look for a camper van when I get there (hopefully Jan 2004 sometime)... Vallerina - I would love to come and visit, thanks :)
Remster 24 #5 September 26, 2003 QuoteMight even look for a camper van when I get there (hopefully Jan 2004 sometime)... Yikes.. thats not summer.... There is no such thing as an actual boogie tour, silly Brit.... But in late july / august / ealy Sept, there are enough boogies to keep you busy going from one to another (WFFC, Summerfest, Lost Prairie, Couch Freaks, and others...). A few full time jump related people go from boogie to boogie.... If you start your stay in January, I think you better stay in the CA or FLA area and venture to surounding states.Remster
turtlespeed 212 #6 September 26, 2003 I think SunnyDee123 is going for the record of most boogies attended in a year.I'm not usually into the whole 3-way thing, but you got me a little excited with that. - Skymama BTR #1 / OTB^5 Official #2 / Hellfish #408 / VSCR #108/Tortuga/Orfun

coconutmonkey 0 #9 September 26, 2003 Emma, I just finished a three week walk about the midwest / southeast DZs last week. Not as long as your trip, but on a bike it was almost long enough to not want to come home. Check DZs in the area you're wanting to go thru for days they're open and things to do on the days they aren't. You'll never get bored on the road, but ya may get worn out if ya hit it hard so plan for a few recouperation days along the way. Not matter what happens while you're out, remember you're going to have fun (even if a hurricane seems to want to come to your house while you're on the road). Good luck with your plans and if you're in the Raeford area, come on by for a hot meal and glass o wine (or beer) and a soak in the hot tub... oh yeah, jump some too!Hearts & Minds 2 to the Heart- 1 to the Mind- Home of the Coconut Lounge, Spa, & Artillery Range

Jessica 0 #12 September 26, 2003 If you come to Texas, you are encouraged to stay at Jessica's Home for Wayward Skydivers™. Skydive San Marcos will allegedly have a super otter and chopper by then.Skydiving is for cool people only
Remster 24 #13 September 26, 2003 QuoteJessica's Home for Wayward Skydivers™. Is that like that commercial with a bunch of thinly clad women just waiting for an awsome skydgod to barge in? Or are you still on that weird rigger fetish thing?Remster
Jessica 0 #14 September 26, 2003 QuoteIs that like that commercial with a bunch of thinly clad women just waiting for an awsome skydgod to barge in? No, it's a futon in my den and a beer (or six) on my porch. QuoteOr are you still on that weird rigger fetish thing? Always. I may be able to satisfy myself on that count soon though.Skydiving is for cool people only
