Need help with music.

Recommended Posts

I'm leaving for the Sand Box in a couple of weeks. I haven't bought CD's in several years. And I haven't been following the whole music scene the last 3 years. I need something to listen to on my down time there, so can you guys tell me what your favorite CD is. "New-Old" It don't matter. All types of music welcome.

I appreciate it!

First off, thank you for what you are doing.:)
In answer to your question, my tastes might not be yours but here are a few of my favorite down time CD's.

Stevie Ray Vaughn and Double Trouble-Greatest Hits 2

Sister Hazel-...Somewhere More Familiar

Toad the Wet Sprocket-Dulcinea

They're not new groups, but they're good ones.:)
Edit to add: Take into consideration that I'm an old chick.;)

White Stripes "elephant" has been in my rotation a lot lately. Good music to psych you up for a jump.

Lemon Jelly "Lost Horizons" is chill, sorta jazzy trance... good stuff.

System Of A Down - Steal This Album. Not only a brilliant band but also highly politically active group, constantly part of some movement, lobbying congress to do, or stop doing something. The good old American way.

Deftones - Around the fur. This one for the first track. My own Summer - real powerful stuff.

Seether - Disclaimer. When I first heard their stuff I couldn’t believe they were South African. A year latter they signed a 5 album contract in America.

Rammstein - Mutter. Gut German rock/metal electro fusion.
There is a lot of stuff worth doing but then there is a lot of stuff worth doing instead.
