skymama 35 #1 July 7, 2004 Is anyone else into this show? I think it's by far the best reality show out there. The competitors have to have more skills, intelligence and perserverance than any of the other reality shows. If you watched, who are you rooting for? My son is going for the female soccer playing twins. I haven't decided yet.She is Da Man, and you better not mess with Da Man, because she will lay some keepdown on you faster than, well, really fast. ~Billvon
Slappie 9 #2 July 7, 2004 The midgets will win Had to add.. I think Big Brother this season is going to be pretty wicked. Those producers got some shit planned for them. I mean offer up 10g's on the first night? The chic took the cash and made the house eat PBnJ all week!! Dayum they coulda been eating really good. Think of the Brownie Points she could have scored to pass up 10g's and stuff. Plus the Brother half Sister combo.. That's wild. skymama 35 #3 July 7, 2004 Oh, I hate Big Brother. I think that's the most boring reality show of all! She is Da Man, and you better not mess with Da Man, because she will lay some keepdown on you faster than, well, really fast. ~Billvon

scottbre 0 #5 July 7, 2004 I watched the premiere of the Amazing Race last night, but I've yet to be impressed by it. Seems to me that very little of the teams' skills had anything to do with who got eliminated, it was all basically luck. And while that is still better all the stupid politicking and voting people off, that most other shows tend to do, it's still not very interesting. And considering that the only skill that was even sort of beneficial to the teams was being observant, it seems like an awefully stressful show to watch all these people frantically getting pissed at each other just to see who get's lucky most often and sees the "flags" in the right order. Maybe the second episode will rely more on teamwork, and clever thinking, like everything I've heard about this show claims, but the first episode wasn't a very good indicator that it will be that way. Shell666 0 #6 July 7, 2004 I LOVE this show! By far the best reality one out there. The BigBrother chick annoys the hell outta me and the midget and her cousin are pretty whiney. I'm rooting for Kim and Chip or Jim and Marsha (pretty nasty knee injury!). But that could change ... 'Shell'Shell
TheAnvil 0 #7 July 7, 2004 I watched that for a short while last night. Interesting show. Vinny the Anvil Post Traumatic Didn't Make The Lakers Syndrome is REAL JACKASS POWER!!!!!!
Slappie 9 #8 July 7, 2004 Quotethe midget and her cousin are pretty whiney That's right, and they'll be on the ones to win. Because the producers have got to have some couple who people like to hate. There is always someone or team you will want to see booted off. Just like Boston Rob on Survivor. People would tune in to see if it was his turn on the chopping block that week. Same with all the shows. So because their whiney and annoying they'll be around awhile "Find out just what any people will quietly submit to and you have found out the exact measure of injustice and wrong which will be imposed upon them." skymut 0 #9 July 7, 2004 Haven't ever watched it before I was 'forced' to last night. Was fairly entertaining and kept my attention. I agree with others that the midget and her cousin are feakin annoying. But the 'zip line' from the top of the hotel down into the pool looked like an absolute blast...sign me up. bvsdjumper 0 #10 July 7, 2004 I'm watching for the first time this season. The first episode came out really fast paced and a little hard to follow but it was entertaining. I haven't picked a favorite team, but I do hope Ali and Donnie don't win. Couldn't stand her on Big Brother and can't stand her here. And Donnie is and idiot for staying with her. And, oh yeah, Big Brother ROCKS! --ArtSky-div'ing (ski'div'ing) n. elfanie 0 #14 July 7, 2004 QuoteIs anyone else into this show? I read this thread because I half expected it to be someone commenting on the preview/commercial for it that I noticed....and I'm surprised that nobody has mentioned it. I've never watched the show...but did notice that they will be doing a tandem on the show. Things I noticed in the 1.4 second of preview showing the tandem.. first...they are jumping through what looks like AWEFULLY thick "industrial haze"..heh. Second...watch closely...his reserve flap is open. Thirdly...as they leave the plane, the tandem (whoever it is) is "flying" as they leave the plane...arms out, legs straight. I'm yelling for 1.4 seconds, "ARCH!" heh anyways...interesting. Anyone know what DZ they did that at? -------------------------------------------- Elfanie My Skydiving Page Fly Safe - Soft Landings
happythoughts 0 #15 July 7, 2004 Last night they had "Models Fear Factor". Models in bikinis, I like where the concept is going. I'm personally waiting for "Porn Star Fear Factor". Maybe they should have them recite nursery rhymes from memory while wearing bikinis. Thinking would bring out the fear in them. There was a tree at a 30 deg angle over some water. Most had arms that were too skinny to climb the tree. The show nearly came to an abrupt end when only 1 of the 6 could hold her breath for 10 seconds in a pool. If only one person completes a task, it isn't much of a competition. They all tapped out. This goes back to, "I never look at porn, but I never miss an episode of Baywatch". Katzeye 0 #16 July 7, 2004 I love Amazing Race! The older Army guy cracks me up. I'm kinda rooting for them. 21 stitches - gogogo! The model couple cracks me up too. I can't wait until they've been up for 72 hours straight. I bet they eat each othe alive. The midget and her cousin are a pain in the ass, I can barely tolerate them. The soccer twins are pretty screwed, I think they'll make top 5 if they don't do something stupid. I was surprised the bowling moms did so well, what a great attitude. And yeah - I wanna zipline! Is a chicken omelette redundant?
Shell666 0 #17 July 7, 2004 The preview that they showed could have been from either Amazing Race 3 or 4 ... they did tandems in one of those shows but I can't remember which one. They were done in Mexico out of Skydive AZ's Otter (with Marc Hogue as one of the TM's ... we sure laughed when we saw him!). Then again, maybe they're making them do it on this show too. Guess we'll have to wait and see! DaveBjork 0 #18 July 8, 2004 It's my favorite show. People tend to show themselves when under stress. It's interesting to me to see folks interact with each other. It's more real world stuff than those other shows. The show throws too many curves at them, and it makes it hard to think you know who will win. It gets my blood moving. It's the best I can do from the couch when not jumping.
Adrock 0 #19 July 8, 2004 QuoteDerek and I are going to try to get on it. I just hope the crap we currently do doesn't disqualify us. Yeah, my bf and I tried to get on that show last year; we sent in the video with lotsa skydiving and running clips cause we didn't have much time to put it together. If we had more time we had this whole plan to stage a neato skydiving scene so they'd pick us. good luck
Zenister 0 #20 July 12, 2004 QuoteI was talking about the adventure racing silly. good luck, but i dont think they want 'qualified' competitors.. i found it mildly interesting, but if i wanted to watch ordinary people fail at relatively simple tasks, i can always go to the mall and people watch....____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.
