Christmas already...blech!

Recommended Posts

I just walked into Wal-Mart. It's October 14th and their holiday section is up and running, music and all. It's been a month since I went to Wal-Mart, so chances are it has been up and running even longer.

Why why why why why why why why!!!

Not asking for an actual reply to the question as I'm sure that it makes perfect sense when following the "retailer's guide to why we do stuff."

But WHY!!!

I've already bought some Christmas presents. :)

Wow, good for you! I go to visit my family every Christmas (although at the moment I live with them :S - not far to travel this year I guess). My brother and I always end up spending all day on 12/23 shopping together. It started about 10 years ago and has kind of become a tradition. At first we just couldn't get our act together to shop ahead of time, but now we both actually wait to shop together.

Never gets any less tense trying to find everything at the last minute though.

Back to the point of the post...shopping ahead is great, but do you need Christmas tree balls and lights now? That's the kind of stuff they are selling!?!?!?!?

Bah...Humbug >:(.

I hate Christmas. Well...not Christmas, but all the commercialism. I hate having to spend money buying gifts for people I wouldn't normally buy gifts for, just cuz it's Christmas. And I hate getting all kinds of shit that I don't want and won't ever use, just cuz it's Christmas. Sometimes I think people are so wrapped up in buying gifts, decorating, etc. that they forget the true meaning of Christmas. I always get depressed around Christmas cuz I get so overwhelmed. My husband has a huge family and everyone exchanges gifts, so I go nuts at Christmas trying to find the perfect gift for everyone without having to go into debt to do it. Just wish we could give each other hugs and kisses, go to church and have a nice dinner together, without all the gift shopping hassle.

My best friend and I prefer to do our Xmas shopping on Black Friday. Full contact shopping makes me feel less like a girl when I am shopping. There is just something pleasing about knocking an old lady down to get a half priced stereo system.B|B|;)
